Thanks for clarifying Steve's video. I found it hard to find good straight info. I've followed Matt for a ling time and really feel bad for him and his very supportive family!
This is almost comical. MLF does a realignment due to money issues, and two of the anglers that didn't make the cut are Gary Klein and Boyd Duckett. Klein and Duckett are the two anglers that had the most to do with this joke of a circuit being formed in the first place. You would think that Jonny Morris, with his billions of dollars, would find a way to finance this circuit without having to throw so many of the anglers under the bus. After all, the pros are the reason he is who he is today.
MLF doesn't have money issues. I used to think that too. Until I started digging. Johnny Morris ( bass pro shops ) and quite a few investor buddies dump loads of cash into the series. Plus, with 50 top name sponsors along with Toyota and Lowrance extending their contracts and Suzuki signing on....their financials are doing quite well surprisingly. And thats not including the monies dumped into the series from the electronic manufactures. I then took the time to look at the Bassmasters finances. Its not anything new, but they have been struggling financially for years. Currently, they are desperately seeking out investors. When Bass pro left as the biggest BASS sponsor, that was a financial hit they were not prepared for. I also think that is why 99% of BASS fans hate MLF and anything bass pro related. Because of that departure. The field reduction is a business model. Let me explain, if you are a business owner and have say 10 employees that show up, but produce very little, promote next to nothing and are never seen and yet are always there to collect a paycheck, what would you be most likely to do? Thats right....fire those employees. Point is, with 80 anglers and the bottom 45 never seen on a knockout round day much less a final day of the tournament, you have anglers that are a waste of space, not competitive and are't able to promote their sponsors.... but are always there to collect a check for showing up! Thats not a sound business plan. Whether you like it or not, ( and no, I am no fan of Duckett ) if you take your emotions outta the situation and see from a business " eye", you'll see that it makes sense for the reduced field.
Those that didn't make it isn't a surprise. Those names never made a championship day. Then reviewing the past history ( except for rookies ) is pretty clear who was in and out. Stefan is a hammer but struggled this season. I kinda think there should have been a two year minimum for the rookies but we don't make the rules. The reduction of the field is a good thing i think. No point having guys that are never truly competitive and still waiting for a " showing up " check they had been doing since 2018. 2025 will be interesting to say the least.
Thanks for doing this video, it is so appreciated. Love the content and channel. If you ever need my help or want to collab, LETS GO!!! Thank you again and continued success!! Cheers and tight lines!!
While it stinks for those that got cut I'm ok with a smaller field. I always thought 80 was too many. 100+ for BASS is too many also - how many are truly "elite"
What’s the best alternative for the guys that are out. Fish the opens? Think most will stay in MLF? I’m not really familiar with the qualifying process.
@@TangierFly MLF would want them to slide down to the Invitationals and some might given the schedule and the new championship. Others might not want anything to do with MLF.
@@GetUrFishOn Has EVERYONE paid their Deposit for 2025? If NOT,it's NOT official....If anyone should know this,it's you, especially knowing how much MLF changes the "rules".Just like our government, "rules for thee, NOT for me"...
When MLF releases the list, then it will be official. Just because someone "claims" to have spoken to someone, does't make it true. But I will say that the conclusions drawn from Mark is pretty accurate after reviewing the point standings and past history.

You’re welcome. Thanks for tuning into the channel. Matt is a great angler and a great guy I have confidence that he will land on his feet.
It’s a bummer that Matt Stefan is out.
It’s bull all the rookies should have been given two years period.
@@tranzformedyouthtn I agree 100%
Man I feel bad for Stefan
It sucks, how close he was and how the odds were so stacked against him and the other rookies
Me too! Matt's one of my absolute favorite pros. He's a super nice guy and a class act all the way around.
Matt is a really sharp guy, and he will be successful no matter what he does after tournament bass fishing.
Why, after 11 years fishing the pro circuit, he won his FIRST tournament last year. That's a W-L percentage of less than 1%, hardy stellar !!!

I agree with you on reducing the field and on rookies should have had two years. I also agree 2025 will be interesting! Tune in tonight to see why!

Thanks Steve. We’ll have to figure something out to work on together, that would be great!
I think they did Matt Stefan wrong he only had the one year, they should’ve gave the rookie guys at least two years
I agree 100%

Damn...I think it's a crime that Roumbanis, Gary Klein and Matt Stefan are all out.
Well at least one of them is going to get in when Randy Howell goes to BASS

MLF changes rules, like I have to change my baby’s diaper, and for the same reason.
Maybe all those who are out should start their own tournament series without FFS. There would be a fan shift away from MLF to them.

Lol. Dude. Boyd Duckett will be in regardless lol
Yup,that's why they already changed it from 45 to 46 anglers qaulify..
Poor guys
Is THIS list OFFICIAL or you just running ya trap with your OPINION??
I can tell you that its official unless someone backs out.

As I said in the description of the video, this list is OFFICIAL as of now. I can’t control who retires, drops out or if MLF changes the rules AGAIN.
