- After working on strictly Bullnose fords for years and pulling engines almost every different way possible, I have discovered the fastest and cleanest way to pull an engine out of these trucks is to pull the radiator support and take it strait out the front instead of up and out with the hood off.
Pulling my engine tomorrow and had the same thought. Glad I found this video, good information
Love those old ford trucks
Great idea.... about to go through my 86 F150 with 302.... Looks like you did a few modifications to yours... Larger coolant/eyewash station. Did you pull the air pump and hoses from around back?
Thanks for the video.
Thanks for the tip!
I have 3 84 f150s with 300 6cyls. I have a 84 f250 with a 6.9l and a 76 F350 with a 460. I am old and hate hanging over the fenders. From the videos I have seen the wiring and attached parts are more work than anything to get out of the way. Was looking for a way that unplug and plugs back in
thank you much !
Welcome!
Hey Zac, Great advice. I've got an '88 Bronco 5.0 that needs both new engine and transmission. Do you recommend I just take the front off like in this video and remove them together and install the new one already together? Like one single engine + transmission replace/install? Did you ever do a video on this or know of any on youtube I could watch? Thanks!
Hi. Yes, If it’s something you are doing at home or in a driveway I recommend it highly.
I have a 1982 f100 that had a 4.9 I6 in it but I want to put a 96 5.0 in it. I wanted to ask what motor tower and mount stands did you use and if they would work with the 5.0/302 I want to put in mine
Ah yes as a VW guy I’m familiar with this. VW calls it service mode 😅
Thoughts on putting an ls in one?😂
Bullnose Zac.. I need your help~ My '86 F-150 V8 EFI starts fine when cold, but once it's warm and I shut it off, it won't start again, and I have to wait like 20 minutes to get it to start again~ When I look on Google, I get a million different answers, and I was hoping you've ran into this and know of what I can do to fix it~ Thanks~
Hi there. I would focus on two things. It is either a weak coil or bad distributor. I’ve had that happen before caused by both. It also could be the computer itself but not as likely.
I’ve heard people have problems with their starters working properly once they’re warm. Seems about your issue here. Joined a bunch of bullnose Facebook groups when I got my 83 F250.
Why is it so hard to get those 2 main bolts out the bottom of my radiator support
Rust rust rust. I use lots of penetrant, 1/2 breaker bar and long extensions to hold the bolt from the top, and an impact for the bottom nut
Would love share a video on my RUclips channel of a starting issue with my 84 F150. Is there a way I can send an email to you?
Sure thing. Send it to my business email. Groomshomerepair@gmail.com
