Does Flipping a 15in Sub Produce more sound??

  • I had this crazy idea of flipping my NVX 15 to see if I could get more sound out of it.

    Facts. I always turn off the bass with my bass knob at least a half mile away from place.

    It's because now you have more air space in that box since you took the magnet displacement out of the box now you have more air space

      @@josegiraldez6230 I want to do the same since I'm on sealed. I love being in the SQ class at 156 db. But when I get down to the 30s range I slope off bad. And with fighting the box rise is making tuning in a hassle.

      @@bassheadfanatik8” PVC, wood disc, neoprene seal, linear actuator. Some ingenuity and effort you can have a variable volume sealed enclosure.

    you basically removed the displacement of the sub in the box, creating more cubic feet. Thats why it seems louder. Great job!

    Flipping it creates more space in the box, and allows your vehicles ac to cool the motor.

    Is flipping a 10inch subwoofer Ina small box good? My box is small and the port too I checked the inside but never tried flipping it might try it

    Just taking that plastic off probably made your speaker louder. Without that airflow, you were seriously restricting your performance.

    Yes in opened cars and trucks inverted is better in Trunck cars regular in right size back sound great

    A good 5 volt radio makes a big azz Difference. Only A Kenwood will give u 5 volts!!

    this worked for me, but my surround touched the side of the hole and it made my coil rub and the sub eventually died from it so be careful

      Facts man gotta watch out.
      That's the single thing keeping me from doing this. My box is sealed so I can't tell if my sub will rub or not lol scary scary

      Not necessarily! Depends on how it's positioned in your car. And whether or not your box is sized correctly for your subwoofer. Easiest way is to try. No guarantees!

      loudness become slightly less, and bass will increase 150-200%... ❤️ and yes, sound will clear too...

    My box is tuned at 40hz but my subs can do 32hz should i invert or stuff with insulation?any recs would be much Appreciated

      i put insulation and i can play below 30hz now. but not happy with the output even though it can set off security alarms of the parked cars. im gonna flip it now to see if it can make a diff. my sub is 1500rms db audio xtinct15 on taramps 3k. INSULATION WILL MAKE IT TUNE LOW BUT DONT EXPECT A MIRACLE BRO. since every car is differnt so try diff orientation of the sub box placement aswell bro...

      Just tune lower. If you're using an adjustable aero port (Big Ass Port) you can add length to the port to tune lower. Just make sure that you don't get too close to the inner wall of the box. For example a 6 inch port should not be any closer than 3 inches to any wall inside or outside of the enclosure.

      Just like all subwoofers, if the enclosure is the optimal size for the for the enclosure, it's probably best with standard mounting. This trick only really works if your enclosure is too small!

    SPL BOX IS ONLY FOR SPL SONGS ONLY DUDE OTHER THEN THAT BETTER SUB BOX AND A BETTER SUB ASAP IF YOU WANT TO HEAR AND FEEL THE DIFFERENCE

      Yes you never change the polarity unless you have two subs mounted a different. Aka One normal and one inverted so they can push and pull.

      Absolutely not! Not if the box is optimal for your sub (per t/s parameters) with standard mounting!

      @@booty4801 you can't just buy a box that has the exact specs that your sub requires AND fit it where you want it in your vehicle.
      Atleast it is extremely rare that you can.
      That kinda box has to be built, whether you build it yourself or get someone to do it. Its still not as simple as having the money.
      I live in rural Arkansas no audio shops anywhere near me.
      If all this is false please help me lmao I need a box for the trunk of my car for two skar svr 15s I need:
      Dual 15inch box
      Ported
      Tuned to 32 hz
      3.5-4cubic ft airspace per sub
      34inX14inX45in
      Dimensions are maximum so whatever it takes to get the tune and cubic feet right while being less than given dimensions (H-height, W-width, D-depth)
