Galaxy Phones SMART VIEW Keeps Disconnecting? Fixed (Force Stop)

  • If you have a Samsung Galaxy phone and you are trying to screen mirror it to your TV via smart view but it keeps disconnecting for some reason then try to force stop first then try again.
    After trying to diagnose a disconnection issue for several hours going though many different steps my last resort was the force stop and it worked! Good luck!
    This should work on Samsung Galaxy S6, S7, S7 active, s7 edge, s8, s8 plus, s9, s9 plus, s10, s10e, s10 plus, galaxy note 5, note 8, note 9, note 10, note 10 plus, etc.

    Reading the comments it looks like everyone is having trouble screen sharing to a tv. Thank you for this helpful info. I was literally beating my roku box to make it screen share

    I was having same problem. The only thing that I had to do that was different from your instructions was I had to restart my phone after I hit force stop .
    It works I see this very message on my TV .

    Mine never works. Try to connect and it instantly disconnects every time. Unfortunately this didn't fix it :(

      Yes, Google Play services app needed access to microphone and camera in order for cast to work. Hope this helps!

    I’ve updated my phone and it’s an a50 Samsung but when I click smart view it shows up but when I click on the device it doesn’t work

    Is there anyone else here using a roku TV having similar issues with smartview disconnecting like this: I'll be mirroring a video and then the TV audio cuts out and the TV screen stays frozen right at the frame where it disconnected. The only way I can get it to reconnect is to pull the plug on the TV, plug it back in and restart it. It only happens once every few days or so and it's a small inconvenience, however, if there's a way to fix this for good, I'd love to know. I've tried the method mentioned in this video and it doesn't seem to work.

    Continuous "unstable connection" problems on my new S23 Ultra when trying to mirror to my Roku stick. Never had this issue on my previous S20 Note Ultra with the same Roku. Unfortunately this solution did not work.

    Good help to find the way to force stop the app as it is not listed in the apps list. Unfortunatly it doesn't fix my connection problem from my Note 9 to Sony Bravia TV. Probs started when Samsung replaced the former streaming app with Smart View. On an S20 the connection seems to work. At least some times. It seems for me like something is blocking the connection like successful connections before and i'm not able to get all disconnected properly. Restarting devices doesn't help.
    Really annoying.

      Hello. I have an S10 and a Sony Bravia tv too. It connects buy keeps disconnectong after a few second or a couple minutes maximum. Have you found a solution to this?

      @@Blue-Mo0n Yes, reason is that Sony doesn't support smartview since a couple of years anymore.
      My solution: i bought a Samsung GQ model with smartview AND multivew :-)

      When you find out please let me know. I bought my Samsung t.v. brand new a few months ago and I've had problems with the smart view ever since I hooked it up I've called Samsung several times over this issue each time nothing helps and I'm sick of it especially with the price I paid!

      @@Tiffani1776 Oh... Yes. I forgot that I posted this. Since it's been updated many times over the past year as well as what I'm connecting to it's hard to say which thing exactly took care of the problem; but I'm inclined to say that what it was is a switching of channels over the Wi-Fi network as it has any noise on it or is searching for a stronger signal by default. Or it also be related to the setting in the phones connection in the advanced section for "random mac address" or "phone mac." I'm not privy on how it chooses that but I would imagine that if it has to keep changing it; then the device it's communicating with probably gets disconnected at that time. I keep mine on the phone mac setting.

    This is interesting. I have two Samsung TVs side by side, exactly the same. The one on the left I have no issues with. The one on the right constantly disconnects. I will connect for a minute aprox, then disconnects. Samsung phone, power saving turned off, (batt was 23%) plugged in now. Both TVs have same update version. All settings are the same. There is one exception, left TV is connected wireless, right TV is ethernet cable connected to internet. (both soon to be dusconected) They are being used as PC desktop monitors. Using up too much bandwidth I'm thinking. 6 devices total no 7 wyze Cam. Why would it work with one but not the other? oops 8 items connected, nope 9. lol 1 Roku, and 1 chromecast. The TV hard wired is the one that keeps disconnecting. PS don't buy a chromecast, ROKU does 10 times more.

    Every screen turned up the way you said except when I got to the final screen it was the same screen that you had up but no option for force stop. Galaxy note 10

    This worked for an hour, then it started crashing again. Getting very frustrated.
    Added: crashes constantly now. Too many times.... This dose not help, at all. now sometimes audio stays on and visuals are black screen. I am frustrated beyond belief

      @@Blue-Mo0n no, I never found out what was wrong. I have changed phones several times since then, I assumed it was the actual smart view program...as now my new phone doesn't have the function.

    This hasn't worked for me unfortunately. I have tried EVERYTHING. So painful. I get 15 to 30 mins in and it cuts out on my TV. I've tried everything. I can't even access this app in google play! Why I don't know So frustrating.

    VPN blocks smart view. Deactivate VPN and smart view is working.

    This didn't work for me at all. Each time I connect my phone o the TV using smartview, it shows my TV and when I click connect, it just doesn't connect. It shows on my TV and the TV asks to allow connection and I select allow then it just cuts out without connecting. 😐

    I can always connect to the tv with smart view with my A50 but the thing is, once i connected it to my router the smart disconnects and it says on my screen that my device is connected to another vpn.

      @0000 0000 got it now bro. An app to make the wifi signal and mobile data stronger was the reason why it keeps on disconnecting. I uninstalled it already. It's not useless though. Hehe thanks bro.

      it should be, for redmi 8 it works, but in samsung galaxy does not. Samsung is a crap brand, i am almost sure. I played around for an hour to nowhere, just cannot manage smart view to stay connected. Crap
