    I just think its amazing how our hair works & how much it shrinks when its wet, even though it's so complicated to deal with. Just washed mine, gonna try this method tonight. Thanks!

      You don't have to use the same products. If you have some hair scrunchies and bobby pins you could make it work !

    • @NotYourAverageCurl
      @NotYourAverageCurl  10 лет назад +1

      ayuana bradford Yup ! I don't wear my hair out that much unless it's stretched because my hair tangles very easily. When I stretch my hair like this my hair is so much more enjoyable and easy to style and manage. You should give it a go !

    Finally! Someone with my hair type with some wonderful results. I just deep conditioned my hair; I will be trying this today.

  • @NotYourAverageCurl
    @NotYourAverageCurl  10 лет назад +32

    @duh bruhnado I wouldn't say my hair was naturally soft but its pretty soft now because I try to keep it moisturized often. I think this could still work for you depending on the length of your hair. Length plays a bigger role in the style than thickness or dryness. My hair is very kinky and its reasonably thick and it works for me ! If your hair is thicker than mine just do smaller sections with the twists. As for dryness, I use the L.C.O. (liquid, cream, oil) method to moisturize my hair to make it soft before styling. I use a Liquid which is water, then a Cream which in this video was the Cantu and then an Oil to seal in the moisture which was the Monoi oil. I just used some shea butter for extra hold and smoothness.

    It's so refreshing to see someone have the SAME hair texture and length. Twists outs always look your yours no matter how little I separate them. Love the style and will use your tips!

    hi, im an African-American with natural hair who's trying different styles. It's in the baby stages of natural dreads ( J. Cole style ), my hair is maybe less than an inch long but I'm still trying your Technique. It is very hard to twist my hair into the stretches but I still managed. This is day one, and I've already had overnight progress. This video is amazing and thank you very much!

      KitKat691 that's awesome ! I'm glad to hear that the video still worked out for you !! As for after hair growth I recommend taking hair growth supplements with biotin and MGM in them, doing scalp massages for a few minutes daily with any oil to increase blood circulation, and making sure the keep your scalp clarified

    Doing this right now! I washed my hair yesterday night and had a really bad headache from excess combing/detangling my hair due to a 2 months havana twist I took off( I know, shouldn't have left it on for so long) so I didn't feel to put my hair into any ponytail or braid/twist. This morning, styling my hair was the hardest thing ever because it shrunk so much! Wasn't easy. I've learnt my lesson and thanks for the tutorial!

    • @NotYourAverageCurl
      @NotYourAverageCurl  9 лет назад +1

      +Lana rey Diaz O yea I learned that lesson the hard way too. I did that one time before and I never did it again. My hair was so shrunken and tangled it was a disaster. Thank you for watching :)

    • @katherinekier
      @katherinekier 9 лет назад

      how did it come out, if you don't mind me asking (I'm about to take out my 2month havana twists too)?

    • @zaraLevina97
      @zaraLevina97 9 лет назад

      +katherine kier. Cut the tip of the Havana twist, and in that way you should be able to roll it out with no problem.. Did mine like that. Although some were already soft, so I just pulled it out from my scalp(being careful not to damage my hair).

    • @katherinekier
      @katherinekier 9 лет назад +1

    Sorry I have little to no knowledge about my natural hair products :( but could I use the Shea moisture curling smoothie for the cream for the first and especially the second day im not sure if my hair will revert if not any recommendations

    • @NotYourAverageCurl
      @NotYourAverageCurl  9 лет назад +1

      Obey MyMindlessness Its ok ! The curl enhancing smoothie does have water as the first ingredients so it may make your hair revert. If you're going to use it I would just say to use a little bit. I would suggest you use a styler like a twisting cream or butter. Something thicker like shea butter or something like that :)

    • @NotYourAverageCurl
      @NotYourAverageCurl  10 лет назад

      Really ?! Whats your hair type ?

    • @prissNcurlss
      @prissNcurlss 10 лет назад

      Those hair type charts confuse me. I'm not too sure of the letter and number but I think I'm mostly 4a. Most of my curls are S shaped and Some are loose coil-like curls with a straw diameter. I have crazy shrinkage--but my restyled hair stretches as if I blew it out.

    • @NotYourAverageCurl
      @NotYourAverageCurl  10 лет назад

      Tondra Hailey Honestly, I'm right there with you. I completely convinced that my hair type is not even on that chart. I know my number is 4 but after that its just impossible.

    I learn for my 4c hair I had to moisturize everyday! With oil olive

    • @NotYourAverageCurl
      @NotYourAverageCurl  9 лет назад +2

      You should try moisturizing with water or a product with water as the first ingredient. Oil may appear to be moisturizing because it can get rid of dandruff and coat the hair temporarily, but water is the best thing to moisturize hair because it penetrates the hair strand. I too use a lot of oils in my hair but I always apply a small amount of water before applying the oil and I've noticed a huge difference when I do it that way.

  • @lisasims3970

    gurl u helped me so much with this...I was using the 2 day routine like you but then i learned that if i twist my hair into medium sized twists the first day, then do the banding method on the twists the first day, then stretch and pin the twists (with the scrunches in them), then I can get the same results that I usually got if I did the 2 day routine..

    • @NotYourAverageCurl
      @NotYourAverageCurl  7 лет назад
