    I used to hate my 4c hair. Thought it was the ugliest thing until I started watching your videos. I still prefer braids because I don't like how I look natural, but I see the beauty of 4c hair because of you. Thank you so much.

    My mom use to thread my hair all the time when I was little, this is the best method to get our hair naturally straight without heat just by stretching it out.

    I just want to thank you for having this channel bc it has been really helpful to me. I have been watching your videos all day!!! I have been relaxing my hair since I was like 4 or five and it's all I have ever done. When I was about 10 a woman used too strong of a relaxer and my hair started breaking off and i had to start fresh. It was a traumatic experience for me but I just grew it out natural, had braids all of the time, and two years later I got it relaxed again... Loved relaxed hair for a while, but after a year I went back to being natural bc I just didn't see the point in chemicals and damaged hair for no good reason, Now my whole family is going natural!!!! Needless to say we are all clueless. I have been getting braids letting it grow out, but this channel has been a life saver!!! 😊 Thanks you so much for sharing!!!

    • @PureEstrogen
      @PureEstrogen  10 лет назад +1

      aminata suma I'm so sorry about that. Sudden occurrences like that may be caused by either an unhealthy diet or underlying condition. Try increasing your fluids (water) and eat more fruits and veggies. Also, avoid pulling your hair in puffs because that may also be the culprit. If you notice any more thinning, I would definitely see a dermatologist.

      bri bri Cotin It can be a protective style. I do leave it in for up to 2 weeks at a time. I just mist it with a light moisturizer. Traditionally, people would just style their hair with thread like they would braids or twists.

    Do you thread on wet hair?

  • @TERTOTREN
    @TERTOTREN 10 лет назад +1

    Hi. After you take the thread out how do you keep your hair from frizzing up until you wash it again.

    • @PureEstrogen
      @PureEstrogen  9 лет назад

      nono namer It typically stays stretched enough for me. You can thread large sections at night (4-6) with oil/ shea butter at night.

    Now like a lot of your videos because they are very encouraging and it worth following them.
    What products can I use to do this, since not all cities have the same products that you presented in the video.Thanks

      @PureEstrogen  9 лет назад

      seuma tavares You can use any one of your favorite creams and oil or you can do it the old fashioned way and use a little bit of water in place of a moisturizer and some oil/ shea butter. Use very little water or your hair will take a couple of days to dry.

    I usually wet my hair then do the threading leaving near to no space between the tiding, I remove the thread when my hair is totally dry that is about 2 to 3 days. having a 3A 3B hair my hair looks pretty straight after but with volume.

    you make it look sooo easyyy...I tried it on one section in the back 3x and um...fail. fail. fail. it kept slipping and wouldn't stay close to the root and then when I tried to take it out, to start over, it wouldn't slip easily. I am going attempt again and start earlier in the day instead of afternoon cause the results are exactly what I am looking for and we seem to have the same texture.

    • @Cindy99765
      @Cindy99765 8 лет назад +11

      Yes you could do this overnight, but the longer you leave them in, the better the stretch. Some people take them out, and redo them to get a really good stretch.

    I really enjoyed the video and I will be trying this out soon! I do have a couple of questions: How long will your hair stay stretched before you wash it again? What is your curl pattern like once its been washed? Does it revert back or is the curl pattern stretched?

    • @PureEstrogen
      @PureEstrogen  10 лет назад

      Christian Jordan It stays stretched until wash day. Humidity will make it shrink a little. It only fully reverts after I wash it or dunk it in water. I have my regular 4b/c pattern after washing. Thanks for watching.

    • @PureEstrogen
      @PureEstrogen  9 лет назад +1

      +SmileSometime123 I have never tried it, but it's worth a shot. It can dry overnight in a warm environment.

    • @malikasilla1475
      @malikasilla1475 9 лет назад +3

      This is done so you won't have to use heat so it's not worth doing it with heat.
      Secondly it's not about drying, it's about time. The more you wear them the best the results. You don't have to have your hair wet to do it. I always did it with dried hair and never with wet hair. Dried hair is better.

      +Xolisa Mfobo i think maybe her hair had a lot of shrinkage before she threaded it, which is why it turned out ridiculously long after

      It would depend if you have had previous damage if your hair is springy it will extend longer aswell if it's been damaged it won't spring to this length
