    Vik makes the best videos on RUclips. My UARS makes me clench my jaw at night trying to breathe, which gave me temporomandibular dysfunction, which is now inflaming the joint so bad that it's spread into my ear and destroying my hearing. My local doctor didn't send me to an ENT, he just gave me cipro+dex eardrops. I don't have an infection. Would they be worth taking just to reduce the inflammation?

    Thank you Mr Vik for this healthy ear message, im experiencing migraines so would it be possible that my ear, once blocked and later on unusual headaches which i suspect to be migraines, be the cause of it ?

    Hi Vik. I really enjoyed the video about tinnitus. Thanks! I have some problems with lightly clogged left ear, and im hearing distortion on the left ear when it sounds loudly. No ear wax, no infection on the eardrum and my doctor gave me a cortizon treatment nosespray for 14 days. I have had this weird distortion sound (when its laud) and unbalanced (clogged hearing) and mild tinnitus for about + sensitiv for sound (its better now) for 24 days now - it has getting better specially after a steam bath. Im wondering if I have Eustachian Tube Dysfunction! I really would like to know more about Eustachian Tube Dysfunction and your videos are the best. Could you please make a video about it? All the best from Sweden! Thanks again for your videos!

    Was just watching Adenotonsillectomy video, just wondering how much this would be to have done privately? Just a ball park figure? Have an ENT appt in February on NHS so will find out if as I suspect I would benefit from this as been diagnosed with sleep apnea and believe this is a big part of issue. In case they not interested in doing anything though was just wondering on private cost?

    • @VikVeerENTSurgeon

      I'm guessing that it would be about £3k ? I'm not really sure. It depends how much the hospitals in your area charge.

    Hi doc, are you able to make a video on having a smelly sneeze? What causes it and how to treat it? I’ve had it for years and every time I sneeze people around me can smeel my sneeze

    • @VikVeerENTSurgeon
      @VikVeerENTSurgeon  7 месяцев назад +2

      Ask your doctor / ENT about it. Typically a smelly sneeze that lasts a long time is a fungal sinus infection or something similar. It's quite easy to deal with. Try some NeilMed Sinus rinse to start with and see your doctor. Good luck

    Here I learned a lot things about eardrops but still have a old stupid Q. When eardrops come out from the ear even after resting for an hour, it seems that the medicine has been wasted, is it normal? If there is a hole in the eardrum, will the eardrops still come out in that amount? Very useful vid. thank you!

    • @VikVeerENTSurgeon
      @VikVeerENTSurgeon  8 месяцев назад +1

      If it has been in for a long time, then it would have done something. It will look the same as when it went in. It doesn't change colour in the ear.
      If the hole is very small then the fluid won't be able to pass through it (meniscus stops it). If it is big, then no the same amount will not come out.
      Glad you found it useful

    I had an ear infection last year, treated it with neomycin and it resolved. I feel the infection coming back now. You are saying that once you use an aminoglycoside once, you can never use it again ever? Or just that you shouldn't do multiple courses back to back?

    I have almost endless itchy ears. A gp several years ago said it looked like exema. I used to get otomize but new gp said to try earcalm, but earcalm also says to not use longterm. Im not sure what to do now.
    I did get some different things OTC on holiday in greece but im not really sure what they are so whether i should use them:
    Synalar drops which seem to be steroid and acid i think;
    Celestoderm-v with garamycin which is a cream the greek pharmacist said to apply with a qtip - i did that for w few days but its far too tempting to rub the inside of my ears when doing that which is why i went to a different pharmacist and got the synalar.

      Itchy ears are hard. Difficult to differentiate from infection and eczema.

    I presume most of the steps apply to Sodium Bicarb for ear wax too? The only one I think might be wrong would be the duration. Would that still be 30 minutes, or would you recommend to reduce to 5 or 10 minutes? (I ask because the leaflet just says to keep your head tilted for a couple of minutes.)

    • @VikVeerENTSurgeon
      @VikVeerENTSurgeon  8 месяцев назад +2

      Slightly different - as there is no risk with wax drops you can use them multiple times - every hour if you need. I would keep them in for as long as possible though.
