Wow that was terrific! I've been using sprays for well over 30 years, have had sinus surgery and have lost count of all the ENT docs I've seen over the years. Not one doctor has ever taken the time to explain any of this and consequently I've been using sprays wrong this whole time! Thank you!

Bonus tip #2: for decongestant sprays, only use at night so you can breathe more easily while you sleep. Suffer through the day as best you can without using the spray. This reduces dependency and keeps effectiveness higher.

Tell your doctor if you have any of the following: pain, redness, or discomfort of the eyes; blurred vision; seeing halos or bright colors around lights; or any other changes in vision. Talk to your doctor about the risks of using this medication. Those are the long-term risks of taking it 6months +.

Very well explained. I have aggressive nasal polyps and a deviated septum. And I have found the side with the deviated septum gives me the most trouble. I feel it is because I am not getting the right angle on that side when I spray, therefore the medication is not going efficiently to where it needs to be. I think your tips will surely help. The most descriptive and helpful video on nasal sprays on RUclips ever. I was able to understand what the turbinates were from your description after being confused by so many other animations and diagrams! However, I'm still confused about where nasal spray should be pointing. Doesn't pointing it towards the ear shoot it right at the bottom outer most part of the inner nose (the round part of a nostril flare)? I feel like when I point it this far to the side, the medicine just leaks right out of my nose. Some resources say to point it to the outer corner of your eye. I feel like when I point it at the inner corner of my eye, I get the most effect.

The Muslim prayer position - super helpful! I recently started Dymista and had a hard time keeping the liquid from going down my throat (seems to be more volume w/the Dymista, maybe because it’s a combo spray). Now, I spray & then immediately go on my knees (prayer position) and tuck my chin under. I hold that for a bit, switching to “down dog” as well, so with my 2 Dymista doses per day I’m also getting the benefit of some stretching. Getting my nose “upside down” like this has really minimized the bitter taste at the back of my throat. THANK YOU! 🤗
