With our first full track day booked, it's time to get the Accelerate Honda Civic EP3 Type R & Accelerate Wide Body Mx5 race ready!
One of the first (and most important) jobs for the Civic is the brakes. Kenny did a lot of research before landing on the decision to install PBS Pro Race brake pads partnered with Godspeed 'C' hook brake discs, complimented by HEL braided brakes lines running Motul RBF600 fluid.

Great work lads. I need new brakes. Will these be fine on the road? What is the bedding in process?
They state for track use only but I have been using them on the road and they feel fine. They bite better when they are warm though. From what I can remember, the bedding in process is just light braking from about 70 down to 40 but gradually get a bit more firm. But not over do it.

@@ken_accelerate thanks Ken. That’s really useful information. Been also looking at the Ferodo DS2500’s. Mines purely a road car so wanted some bite from cold. OEM stuff isn’t great though for spirited driving
@@K20TypeR I've never used the ferodo ones. Maybe worth looking at the PBS Pro Track ones aswell? They maybe more suited to fast road use as the Race ones are aimed at track cars. I think the Ferodo are quite expensive too.

Do you recommend Godspeed disks for road use? Are thy an upgrade over stock disks?
I run Ferodo pads and they are rated quite good as well..
The Godspeed discs are Fantastic. I would definitely recommend them.

Watching the vid, did you put godspeed on the mx5? Thinking these pads and new discs for the nd2. Ta!
I'm actually running Pagid discs front & rear on the Mx5, with Roddison pads. This setup has served me very well on track, and is absolutely fine for street driving too.
I will be upgrading to Godspeed discs though once the Pagid ones wear, they are great discs!

@@davedoesit you 're right. I can't see anything on their site. Kenny sourced his discs through Rival Motorsport. We use Rival Motorsport at work, but we purchase discs and send them to Godspeed to be grooved.

@@davedoesit For the Mx5, I tend to use Bofi Racing for performance parts, and Mx5parts.com for OEM parts.

Hi how were the brakes on track ? Did you go for Pro Track on the back ?
The brakes were amazing. I stuck with pagid on the rear. No fade etc.

Thanks, I am new to CTR platform. Do you think standard calipers would handle 300bhp (supercharged)
@@scoobs998 mine was running 282bhp and felt great on my setup. As long as you can cool them as much as possible it should be fine.
