*UPDATE* After you install LEDs, you will get that dreaded "Check DRL system" light. If you install load resistors with the bulbs, then the light will go away. LEDs don't use that much power, so the computer thinks the bulb is blown. Here's a link to the resistors www.ebay.com/itm/363431910829?_trkparms=ispr%3D1&hash=item549e3addad:g:EY4AAOSw0xtcDiwn&amdata=enc%3AAQAGAAACoPYe5NmHp%252B2JMhMi7yxGiTJkPrKr5t53CooMSQt2orsS5%252FLJbfonbQUYd49AU1AJY8rYI%252FBBrqK4aFA8e4tt2uH1BvxtCyKCvKmpRachFJdXp9phHhXC0hmiO5Sut5pG7jbkGmaqoofgRyxxBAI0o56p8iedORdZ0bKK2E0TYhPTTfYJs%252FLFAM5aQdK4Jgp%252BcRFNAtWg5DHi2pqMn5FNM%252Bc%252BNRbQgTvqbWiEZ79EA6U4pfkaU9qjSY7i9KgQLE4NLjkgFDx%252By55ek0aaFgU8Kqhn1HS2N0VTtBGZkhGTa7E8VEn0SS8KlvF3iyMLMN76hnMArqj18yPsQsrrpJ1X6N1YuBtESHu7Vqpmc0O1B2FujS1g5aApdpvUoJUQ7LR%252BAZz6IXgLGvhrvVUTyHXFFObp0YBh0XQJbbbAQI%252FngyQVETgVOYpeSeTEK4BgpgxqtNh0DZAYvUcsS4BbFZOPoy0uXAZmxvmn3w2OanDbAJZaSqQYH6ASZGnsNXRvtC2gHfap5tCnLPtcf5QxeIJwQEHaunnIhgB%252BeOipQ87Hf%252BUj3YQ97sEFOldE4FZlfCQJeXUWlq9fyXcV1IvvME6Qbl%252B4048f7oU8TbWg%252FC2T3%252BIEwgJmJyvYZ4%252BrfE%252BaroHJ%252BDC5xu8h%252FY5eu3JhWrUQtvA6T%252FCbHPZMS%252BtfjIE7CX6Kn0MXK3kD5a7gmH2squRsODMor3d%252BQrdgtcG4lz%252FcRZdlzMCf7SMuLicM3m%252FAW%252FsNS4kvR1%252FvpgXdiBizEWqZCWLxxF%252B4xXEitqhh27X5W19q7OMfOgLcP1i1sgGCjo27YgE2mMRb9KLqJEYZtQ5JEtuO1BjB0iHtSuX4XmHLh5nvF6sR6%252Fe3L8VakGiWCR56vfBAu3y6Z9YXMdOJHdk41Q%253D%253D%7Campid%3APL_CLK%7Cclp%3A2334524
Just bought 2010 annoying drl messege of course, neither running light is on, i see a box of lights in the glove box, now i know exactly what i need to do, thanks for the video!
U can juz go to ur nearest auto shop n takeurold onest xheck the size. Its not that hard . Or if need be order online. I pretty much have to wing things off youtube for the simple stuff like this lol. Otherwise when in doubt always good to have a professiona mechanic for the complicated stuff. My brother in law is a mechanic which is a plus n gives me tips n learn from him as well
The size is 9005. Just type in "9005 LED bulb" on eBay or Amazon and pick the ones you want. Preferably some that are canbus or error free. Don't get the super cheap ones as they don't really last long.
I just bought a 2010 MDX from a private owner. So, could you please tell me how do I turn off the daytime running lights. Or do they supposed to stay on while the car is running? Thanks
They're actually a great feature. They are meant to be on all the time as a safety feature, so other cars can see you. There's no "normal" way to just turn them off, unless you wire up some custom foglights with a toggle switch. The only easy way you can get them off is to just remove the bulbs and leave them out, but you will have a permanent warning light on the dash.
@Francisco Bencomo yes if you just get regular LEDs then you're stuck with the error light. I believe if you were to get some error free lights or install a load resistor on each bulb, then the message would go away.
Fog lights are fine. The DRLs have a sensor that throws a warning light on the dash, so you need resistors for it to "trick" the computer. LEDs don't use that much power, so the computer thinks the bulb is blown.
Amazing! I’ve been looking for days about how to get rid of the message. I saw something about a decoder which is the resistor you need to add like you said. Glad you shed light on it and even posted a link on an earlier post. Does it work? How long have you used them?
Just upgraded mine . Is anyone getting the DRL message on the instrument panel. Im going to try hooking up the scanner just to see if there's anything i can clear. Its a 2007.
I wanna say they were H11 size bulbs. Just pull one of your old ones out are check the number on it. There are plenty different brands online to choose from. Don't forget to get load resistors so you don't end up with a "DRL" light on the dash. Thanks for watching

Thanks a lot
I respect a man who can I respect anyone who can disconnect and remove an illuminated halogen bulb with one hand.
Just bought 2010 annoying drl messege of course, neither running light is on, i see a box of lights in the glove box, now i know exactly what i need to do, thanks for the video!
Excellent! Exactly what I was looking for...peace back at ya

Can you send a link for a 2012 mdx I can’t find what lights to get

Hey man, I installed them, but they flicker very low, almost like they are turned off. Any pointers, anybody?
Read the pinned post in the comments section
I can’t get the fog lights to come out!!! Any help?
You have to turn the bulbs a certain way to clear the holding tabs. Press in slightly and turn counterclockwise.
Hey did it ever make ur DRL light come on that dash
Yes. Read the pinned comment at the top.

@@Jedi_Luke I’m already replaced the bulb but the message is still on on the dash
Permanent
@Francisco Bencomo yes if you just get regular LEDs then you're stuck with the error light. I believe if you were to get some error free lights or install a load resistor on each bulb, then the message would go away.
So basically I only have to buy 2 resistors just only for the DRL...how bout the fog lights do I have to buy 2 for that too?

Question how easy is it to take the light out of the housing. I tried turning mine counter clock and he won’t budge
Should come right out. Don't be afraid to break it if you're replacing it anyway
Just upgraded mine . Is anyone getting the DRL message on the instrument panel. Im going to try hooking up the scanner just to see if there's anything i can clear. Its a 2007.
You just need to buy some canbus resistors.
How does one replace plastic cover underneath car. Took off b4 watching your video. Senior needs assistance. Thx
Good jop brother
Thanks. Don't forget to like and subscribe for more content. Thanks for watching
Is the daytime running light the same type as the fog lamp ? Can they be swapped? I have an old fog halogen spare when I changed to led
I can't remember. This was my customers car not mine. Just pull the bulbs out and see if the numbers match up.
Save a hell alot of money if u can diy !
Looks awesome besides that I'm having a hard time seeing the lanes that would be a good fit for my MDX, do you happen to have the link of those bulbs?

4:26 you said this is a 2021 lol
Check the description. This was filmed in 2021......
@@Jedi_Luke lol it was indeed :)
What led bulbs did you use and where did you get them?
eBay. That was my customers car, they brought the parts. Just take one of your bulbs out and see what size it is. Go on eBay and order a set.
With these LEDS did u get a DRL error code at all??
Yes. I had to buy to buy load resistors
