I recently read a book that I think described this version of Loki really well. Now I don't have the quote word for word but it essentially read, "Loki wasn't always the god of lies. Mischief and chaos, sure. But the lies came later. The lies were what he used to build walls around himself and protect himself from the pain of always being hurt."

Color me intrigued, i've always been fascinated with the mythology of both Thor and Loki, but i've never tried to imagine Loki's origin story. Personally I do think for some characters it's truly important to know their journey from the begining to fully understand them at their core. At least when you are as deep a creature as he is.

The scene with old man Loki was so badass. He who ran from himself his entier life finally found his purpose in life and brought fourth his "GLORIUS PURPOSE" with a mixed version of ride of the valkyries and the Loki theme together. One of the sad things about the complexity of Loki as a character is that he is always capable of being a 'good guy' but circumstances and trauma (particularly the trauma of feeling unaccepted and unloved by those close to him...namely his father that made him feel as if he wasn't good enough and clearly favored Thor. It really messed with his self perception and led to a lot of self hate or as Loki explained the bad is a trick of the weak to seem in control. It is also why his relationship with Sylvie is a metaphor for self love and acceptance. His finally openly admitting that he does wrong to give the illusion of power to make himself feel better was the catalyst for real change-- which is one of the main reasons why the fight between all the other Loki's was so annoying for him

  • @neospock5034
    @neospock5034 Год назад +1

The show's biggest reveal is that there wasn't any "sacred" timeline, that was just a lie to keep TVA agents in line and motivated. The multiverse existed from the start and He Who Remains created the TVA and controlled them from his vantage point at the End of Time. But their real mission (unknown to the TVA agents) was to eliminate any timelines where Kang(s) would arise, inevitably leading to multiversal war. There was't ever one way things were originally "supposed" to go, a multiverse was the natural order of things. The only crime that variants were guilty of was being part of a universe where Kang would eventually appear.
Once Sylvie killed HWR he stopped sommunicating with the TVA, and without their pruning efforts the full-blown multiverse returned.

To explain the end for you, basically "He Who Remains" is a variant of Nathaniel Richards (Reed Richards father from the Fantastic 4). This version of him is known as Immortus but there are others such as Kang the Conqueror, Iron Lad, and Rama Tut just to name a few. Before the TVA, a bunch of Immortus' variants were engaged in a multiversal war that Immortus eventually won. He created one single timeline and created the TVA to protect it and ensure it didn't fall into chaos which is why they prune and reset the branches that weren't meant to happen. Now that he's dead and the TVA know the truth, the timeline descends back into chaos (the multiverse). When Loki was sent back to the TVA by Sylvie, Mobius' memory wasn't wiped, it was a different Mobius in a different timeline working for a different variant of Immortus as you can see by the statue.

They go into extreme depth searching in the videos and I think you'll actually become addicted to watching them and then going back and seeing the Easter eggs for yourself... And they can help you connect the unconnected dots if there's anything you don't really understand.

@13:26 Meet Loki’s variants: Classic (Richard E. Grant), Kid (Jack Veal), Boastful (DeObia Oparei), and Alligator (modeled after an alligator named Wally).
Episode 5 had my favorite funny moment of the season: the Loki smackdown. Also, it’s funny seeing our main Loki be like, “God, I’m annoying.”
He Who Remains' real name is Nathaniel Richards. He's portrayed by Jonathan Majors.
Several months before Loki Season 1 aired, they publicly announced that Jonathan would portray another variant of Nathaniel known as Kang the Conqueror in the third upcoming Ant-Man film titled Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. It'll premiere in February.
However, that’s not the only time that we’ll see Kang. He’s gonna be the next big bad since Thanos. With that in mind, the Avengers will have to reassemble.
The fifth Avengers title which is coming May 2025 is called The Kang Dynasty. A sixth entry is also in the works for May 2026. They’re calling it Secret Wars.
As for Loki season 2, Kate Herron will not be returning to direct. She signed up to work on one season and she's already working on other projects but she left on good terms. Her only request is that the new directors have to give Mobius a jet ski.
Most if not the entire second season was directed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead. They previously worked on two episodes of Moon Knight. Loki season 2 is set to premiere summer 2023.

Woohoo! Thanks for the shoutout bud!
Tom Hiddleston is SUCH a great actor. You mentioned not having seen him in other stuff, but you're missing out! Check out *War Horse* (directed by Steven Spielberg) or *I Saw the Light* which is a biopic where he plays Hank Williams (and did his own singing!) opposite Elizabeth Olsen (Wanda) as his wife.
This show was SOOOO good, omg, and I can't wait for season 2. Personally, the thing I REALLY hope to see as it relates to Loki either in season 2 or in an upcoming Avengers movie, is that I REALLY hope that our new reformed variant Loki gets a chance to see our Thor again as a changed man. That would be SO cool if they can pull that off, omg.
I also love Owen Wilson and Tom Hiddleston together. They were in *Midnight In Paris* together in 2011 and have been friends ever since.
*_A few other things to note:_*
When Kid Loki says he became a variant when he killed Thor, that is referring to the story Thor told in Ragnarok about when he was 8 and Loki played a prank on him and then stabbed him, and nearly killed him. Well, in Kid Loki's timeline, he was successful.
_Kid Loki, seems like he'd be a kid that'd play with Wanda's two boys, doesn't he? hmmm =)_
Old Loki's outfit (Like Wanda and Vision's Halloween outfits) is his old comic outfit. Since Old Loki is old, it sorta fits, lol.
As you could probably tell, the events of Loki are probably the single biggest plot setup for phases 4-6. He Who Remains mentions that he started the whole TVA thing to end the multiversal war, where each universe was fighting each other for survival, and that if Sylvie killed him, *it would happen all over again.* Well, that's EXACTLY the setup for phases 4-6, called "The Multiverse Saga".
He Who Remains mentions he has many names, including "A Conqueror", well that's a reference to the fact that another version of him is Kang the Conqueror, who will be introduced as the main villain in Ant Man 3 coming out in February. But more importantly, they have announced evengers 5 and 6. Avengers 5 comes out in 2025 and is called *Avengers: The Kang Dynasty* and Avengers 6 comes out in 2026 and is called *Avengers: Secret Wars*. (which, in the comics was the multiversal war) So all of the variants of Kang/He Who Remains are going to be the collective "Thanos 2.0" big-bad that we're working up towards. And it's heavily implied that Loki and Sylvie and Mobius are going to be important parts of that story as it unfolds.
There are tons of rumors flying around of course, but if they are doing a big multiversal war, it'd be at least an opportunity for variants of Steve and Tony or whomever else to make their way back over to our "main timeline". Kevin Feige is really interested in trying to unite all of the Marvel characters that were previously disconncted like the X-Men and the Fantastic Four and Blade, etc., with the main MCU, and we know they are working on Deadpool 3 bringing him over along with Wolverine.
It's gonna get wild! You need to start selling some *Goochgard™* spray on product of some sort, lol.
    Cheers

Loki is a Trickster God -- but he is not evil, per se. He teaches others necessary hard lessons about life and about themselves.
He often sets himself up as the baddy, to teach others about danger and how to deal with loss, and so on.
But most of all he loves beating the hell out of real bad guys.
Even in the TVA he realizes that he can learn some things -- the whole story arc of the show is him finding out who he is, in the weirdest way, by seeing who he might have been, and learning a little more about love. In the meantime he teaches everyone in TVA some hard lessons about the "perfect" world they think they have built and is under control.
Tom Hiddleston is a classical Shakespearean actor, and so brings a lot of genuine craft to this scifi stuff that usually is not as well acted.
His way of inflection and expression to make Loki real and get the audience to feel Loki's emotions in the moment are top tier.
Even Sylvie did really well with some character growth -- Owen Wilson was just himself, as usual, that is his thing.

Like in one of those branches, Sylvie killed Loki and that's gonna be that universe, without Loki and probably without He Who Remains. The timeline was branching off and becoming a true multiverse. Now this is the part where I could be wrong in, Sylvie pushed Loki into a different universe, since there were so many branches she meant to send him back to the TVA but it was a completely different universe where (I'm assuming) they knew about He who remains and there were no time keepers. This scene feels very long and stretch but there is a reason:
If you line up this scene with Wanda's transformation to the Scarlet Witch in WandaVisions, the timing would fit perfectly.
You can hear a thunder sound during Wanda' transformation which can also heard in Kang / He who remain's speech.
When Wanda finished her transformation, Kang noticed it and said: "We just crossed the threshold".

The end of time, was the beginning of time. He saw the multiverse fight each other. He ended time and restarted everything his way, so he could guide everyone. Then greated the TBA and realized, he was the reason they fought each other. But he is at the end of time and at the same time, doesnt know how things will go, when time restarts. I know, confusing shit.

I suggest that after every Marvel movie as well as every tv show you watch a New Rockstars breakdown, they do a great job at finding easter eggs you couldn't and thdley help you understand the situation more.

I’m pretty sure he has seen the Sam Raimi Spider-Man Trilogy, but definitely he needs to watch the two Amazing Spider-Man Movies.

Why? MK was so neutered and the ending blew. Loki was way better.

Moon Knight was almost at Loki levels for me until the final battle. But it’s my second/third favorite D+ show because of Oscar Issac’s acting.

@@jessicamagri8211 Isaac was great in the role, but the overall pacing of the show was not good, the supporting characters and the villain were weak, tho the post credits scene did some nice setup.

Basically when the timeline splits more versions of he who remains will appear and some of them are much worse, so they will basically destroy anything to be the last one.

remember the scene at the end of wandavision where she hears billy and bobby calling her from another universe? well that happens just as sylvie kills Immortis (aka good Kang the conqueror) and breaks the scared timeline freeing the multiverse.
