@@ringer1324 For another two days. September 29th is the last day they're shipping. As for who was still using the service, my guess is mostly people with slow or no internet, people with bandwidth caps, people who have had the service since back when it was the only service, people who want access to older or niche movies that aren't on any streaming service, etc.
Bro, the movie came out at the perfect time for me. I was just getting into videogames so the gamer references felt so cool and new, this series sparked a love for comics and music as well for me. After Scott Pilgrim I spent countless hours listening to Metric, Beck and exploring every possible genre and to this day my greatest comfort is sitting back and reading a good comic. This IP really shaped me as a person
This confirms the kind of way that they're retelling the story, with the same beats but new delivery for our characters moment to moment, and I'm totally on board.
This looks so cool! Ironically, the biggest difference my brain is getting used to isn't the animation or script differences - it's the lack of that classic Edgar-Wright-rapid-fire pacing for the dialogue. Like, there are actual PAUSES in this clip. 😁
The comic is well worth the read, I just did it online. I way prefer the comic's ending to the movie's ending. Similar beats but the comic gets oddly mature and honest about how they're both flawed people who need to grow up
I LOVED the movie when I was younger, so seeing my childhood hyperfixation get some more attention when I’m in college of all things is giving a major boost to my mood!!
I was not too thrilled about Cera voicing Scott again in the anime (I never really liked his casting in the original) but I was pleasantly surprised w/ him in these clips, he is doing way more w/ his voice than I expected. This looks amazing
Exactly my thoughts, in the movie it very much felt like Scott was rewritten to be “adorkable” to make him easier for Michael Cera to play so I was worried if he could actually *do* energetic, but he seems to be pulling it off fine here
I love how the onomatopoeia seems to still be real things in universe, the door bell's "dingy-dong" is seen from behind when the camera shifts to face Scott.
I hope the original point of the comic is kept in-tact. Like Scott's character study, and his perception of events VS the reality. Because everything else looks spot-on so far.
Subtle note; one of Lucas Lee's movies is "the game is over 2" This could be interpreted as him being the 2nd evil ex, or this being the second adaptation of Scott Pilgrim. Either way, well done.
I am pleased that they released a clip on Scott's birthday, September 27th! However, the pacing seems a bit off. It changed from him being aware of Ramona's arrival through his dreams to him actually waiting for her. I am keeping an open mind about this one and I hope for the best portrayal possible, with the intended update that Bryan mentioned would happen. Edit: Damn you guys, no one is talking about this clip getting published in Scott's Birthday, that is way cooler than the change from amazon to netflix hahahah
Between the graphic novel, and the short series Vs The Animation, and the live action movie, and now this anime-inspired cartoon that merges all three aforementioned entries.....my mind is blown. Watching these scenes from the film in animated for with the same actors feels like watching it for the very first time.
I'm in love with this already!! Though I'll admit, if I had to complain, the lip syncing could be better. I get that it's going for a comic book look, but it's a little distracting. But aside from that one nit-picky thing, I'm BEYOND excited!
The thanks Julie bye part got me so bad, I can't wait for this to come out, wish they did more with the movies to be honest but still a masterpiece nonetheless
I will say, it's not an over all sign of how great the anime is gonna be, *but* it is great to have them establish Lucas Lee in-universe before he starts becoming relevant, it makes it feel more like a living breathing world in my opinion, like they don't mention him only when it's time for him to become a part of the story.
I love how Ramona delivered packages for Amazon in the original, but in the Netflix anime her job is to deliver rentals for them

One time Blockbuster had that chance to buy Netflix for a penny. Yes, Netflix knocked on Blockbuster's door and offered them the company... And Blockbuster laughs them outta the building. Well, who is laughing now?
That's very clever of them, then.
Yes, officers, this comment right here is the one that cause most of the people reading it to die of old age
This just looks amazing! All of their voices are perfect! So glad the original cast was able to return
Y'all scammed me I thought we were getting an accurate-ish scott pilgrim show not this. (It's still really good)
The music. The art. The voices. It’s perfect
This looks so cool! Ironically, the biggest difference my brain is getting used to isn't the animation or script differences - it's the lack of that classic Edgar-Wright-rapid-fire pacing for the dialogue. Like, there are actual PAUSES in this clip. 😁
Yes the line "do you know a girl with hair like this", that's soooo well done in the movie, can't say the same here
it's basically an anime adaptation of a movie adaptation of a relatively niche comic book series
and it actually looks great. excited for this!
I really love the backgrounds -- the apartment they live in looks so inviting, everything's really colorful without being too garish imo
0:24 Proof that Edgar Wright is indeed working on this series.
Finally a Scott pilgrim animated series and the voice acting is really good
0:34 I like that Netflix used their old logo in this clip.
This art style is absolutely ADORABLE I LOVE IT
you ever see something so cozy and warm that it doesn’t feel real and makes you want to cry
0:41 I like how in the movie, the poster was book Knives and Kim and now the poster is live action Knives and Kim ♥️
I never read a Scott Pilgrim book all the way through. But I can see why it’s so popular. I can’t wait for this series
The comic is well worth the read, I just did it online. I way prefer the comic's ending to the movie's ending. Similar beats but the comic gets oddly mature and honest about how they're both flawed people who need to grow up
The graphic novels are absolutely worth it, even if you only settle for paper-back. They're REALLY good.
You should. You could probably binge it in an afternoon. You have a month so there's no excuse, really
This is literally Netflix gaslighting Canada into thinking that they delivered DVDs in the country back in the day!
I LOVED the movie when I was younger, so seeing my childhood hyperfixation get some more attention when I’m in college of all things is giving a major boost to my mood!!
It looks damn amazing, love the voices can't wait to hear Knives or Envy
Basically since Envy in the movie doesn’t sound like how Brie normally sounds. Look forward to doing her higher pitched voice again.
I NEEEED TO SEE MORE OF KNIVES … i wanna use a shot of her as a pfp at some point ,,,
I was not too thrilled about Cera voicing Scott again in the anime (I never really liked his casting in the original) but I was pleasantly surprised w/ him in these clips, he is doing way more w/ his voice than I expected. This looks amazing
but he nails scott as a character
Exactly my thoughts, in the movie it very much felt like Scott was rewritten to be “adorkable” to make him easier for Michael Cera to play so I was worried if he could actually *do* energetic, but he seems to be pulling it off fine here
Theres something really charming about how this is animated and stylized
Ah yes, I remember when Netflix was a DVD rental service. Good to know this show'll be keeping to its original time period!
I love how the onomatopoeia seems to still be real things in universe, the door bell's "dingy-dong" is seen from behind when the camera shifts to face Scott.
Ok that’s strangely kind of meta mostly because this came to Netflix and is based on the comics lol 0:16
I hope the original point of the comic is kept in-tact. Like Scott's character study, and his perception of events VS the reality. Because everything else looks spot-on so far.
Holy crap! "Lame Poster" is still on the wall! Nice touch.
Wicked!
i’m so excited for all of these characters to come back to life !!!
R.I.P to Comeau. He was supposed to be the guy who knew everyone!!
When the world needed him most.. he came back.
She said “I forbid you…” like she knew he could pull that 😂
Micheal Cera is the perfect choice to be the voice of Scott Pilgrim.
Yeah, he already played him in the movie so they obviously weren’t going to go with someone else…
the animation style is so cute and i love how fluid it is!! amazing job from the animators
Fluid? The lips aren't even synched...
@@trendybistroI fully agree
I wonder if it's like anime rules animation will be very fluid for fights
It's not fluid, it's janky on purpose
honestly, i’m watching this solely because science saru is animating this
@@trendybistro it's more synced with the Japanese audio since it's an anime
Can we get a season two where they just chill, I'd gladly watch that.
I cannot believe that’s Michael Cera. Holy shit his voice dropped haha.
Well he is a grown azz man now lol
@@righteousrawb7225 Don't be rude. But yes, you're correct, for Cera was 22-years-old when the movie was released in theaters.
Can't wait! They even sound so animated too!
Its so good oh my god???? The animation is perfect (what i expected tbh) but the voice acting is super cute.
The thanks Julie bye part got me so bad, I can't wait for this to come out, wish they did more with the movies to be honest but still a masterpiece nonetheless
I love the art style and the blur effect.🤤
SCOTT PILGRIM’S BACK!!! 😆
They seem to have re-written Wallace to match Culkin's performance in the movie. The Wallace from the books is much more high energy.
I will say, it's not an over all sign of how great the anime is gonna be, *but* it is great to have them establish Lucas Lee in-universe before he starts becoming relevant, it makes it feel more like a living breathing world in my opinion, like they don't mention him only when it's time for him to become a part of the story.
Brian Lee O' Malley confirmed his goal for this show was to do a lot more with each of the Ex's than he did in the books.
@@Wildwildwild22
Boy did he!
Michael Cera doing a spot on Dipper impression.
I had the colored book version with all 6 books in one and an extra so seeing this animated is a dream come true 😭😭😭
I’ve been waiting soo long for this
0:56 THAT’s MY NAME 😱
YO YOUR CHEST IS IMMACULATE
