Im agree with you, Despite maybe more complex technique of Taylor, Dave simple know when to play and how and sounds even better , and his signature patterns are a true legend in the historu of rock
Are these both live performances or are you comparing Taylor's live performance to Dave's studio recording on coloar and shape? To my knowledge Grohl hasn't played Everlong on drums live nor has the band rerecorded a studio version with Hawkins... In that case not sure why you'd ran the studio version through moises considering the isolated everlong drumtrack is on youtube at pretty good quality. But yeah, for a live performance you probably would play more on top of the beat to better suit the energetic environment/musical context.
I definitely see your point. Having learned by watching videos of Dave and never taking lessons, he has a dynamic that is super skillful yet reserved enough to serve the song, but from a technical standpoint, I think Taylor was always above Dave with the odd timings he could play and the dynamic he held from being influenced by a lot of prog bands. All in all, I think drumming “skill” is subjective and just depends on your personal taste
Can we just take a second to appreciate how great Taylor Hawkins plays drums? RIP to the legend
A little sloppy IMO
@@aronp7097could you do it though
They are both amazing drummers. RIP Taylor.
Both of them sound AMAZING!!!
Same
🤘🏻🙂 love Taylor's aggressiveness
Daaang they can play those beats so well. Thanks for sharing Tom. I miss your voice!
Dave's sounds wayyyy better. That behind the beat feel, and just the sheer weight behind his playing is incredible. You feel it so much more.

Taylor drumming almost sounds like glass being shattered
Which live recording was Taylor's drumming from?

But "the Pretender" was a very demanding, vigorous drum part..... gotta remember to breathe.
Rip Taylor who’s gonna be his replacement?
He can't be replaced
@@emiliomontesdeocagonzalez681 maybe I think Nadi could replace him
@@jacestephenweatherall1732 No. He can't be replaced by anyone. Someone could fill in for the drummer's place but nobody will be Taylor Hawkins
Dave has more skill.
