The differences are so minimal. It is just a matter of personal preference, any of those would sound fantastic in a recording or a live environment and my believe is that it would be very hard to tel the differences. If I had to choose a preferred sound, it would be the Ludwig tuned higher. But what is really killer for me is the drum sound. That sound, through the mic, is my dream come true. Any tips on tuning, drum heads, dampening,...?
The real winner is that Sonor bassdrum, I think it made my kidneys swap places :P As for the snaredrums, my vote goes to the Pearl Stavecraft. At low tuning I felt it had more "body" than the other snares, and at higher tuning it had more focus and definition than the others. Looks good, too.
No winners this week! Too much smack and whack. They've been been all disqualified! Anyway, I do again enjoy your intro reel during the video showing off still shots of your store.
Mapex Black Panther is my fave of this bunch. The Pearl Stavecraft is my 2nd choice. I feel as if the Mapex snare has the most character of them all. When I say character I mean that it has a very nice balance of all frequency ranges. It has good amount of presence that would mix well in a variety of situations and styles.
I'm suspicious to say, as I'm the happy owner of a Black Panther, I don't know if I'm used to the sound, but it seemed more pleasant to me, my vote goes to the Shadow!
The Mapex Shadow is incredible! All of the Black Panther snare drums are great. That's the winner for me. Ludwig and Pearl are very beautiful too. I like less the DW snare, not my favorite sound (even if it's clearly a beautiful snare drum).
As much as I am not much of a Mapex fan, I have to give it the vote here. Something about that darkness sound on the center hits just charms me. And Tony really knows how to bring the sounds to our ears so well.
This is tough because I really dig that stavecraft snare on lower but I like the dw on higher. I think I overall like the pearl though. Stavecraft for the win
1. Mapex--overall hits all the points 2. Ludwig--amazing personality, love that sound 3. Pearl--interesting, did not sound as I expected it would 4. DW--great sound, but did not scratch the itch for me in this round of Drumble ***DCP, another great video!***
Mapex Black Panther 14x6.5 Shadow Snare Drum Natural, what did I just say??? Again, great video, DCP. You guys are a jet flying, limousine riding, kiss stealing son of a gun!!!
WOW, tough choice.... But Ludwig gets my vote.... The Mapex was a very close second. I like that you have do both room mics and full mics.... This is fun and educational. Thx
The Pearl sounded massive! It’s the smallest in size yet the biggest-sounding. I like it.
The Mapex Black Panther did it for me
Mapex Shadow! To my ear, it sounded fuller.
That Pearl Is my favorite.
I think the mapex has the most balenced and musical sound, so my vote goes to the black panther.

DW takes it for me on this one!
Yes!!!

That Mapex ALL day for me! 🥁 We OUT here for it!! “Royal Drumble” a fantastic name! 😆
Hey. You win. Shoot me an email if you want some free stuff! adam@drumcenternh.com
The Mapex Black Panther Shadow with its great attack from the birch and full body walnut sound is my pick.
Mapex Black Panther, shadow.
The Mapex Black Panther takes the cake for me on this one.
Man...not really a Mapex guy myself but that snare was smokin'! Loved it!
DW was really close, but I'm going to have to go with the Pearl Stavecraft 🥁
Didn't expect it but I liked the Mapex the best
I'm suspicious to say, as I'm the happy owner of a Black Panther, I don't know if I'm used to the sound, but it seemed more pleasant to me, my vote goes to the Shadow!
1.mapex
2.ludwing, pearl
4.dw
Basically all of these snares sound good 👍
I voted for the Ludwig last week, I'm voting for the Ludwig again this week... I swear I'm not a fanboy... ok, that's a lie
Mapex for the win. Ludwig very close second.
Mapex BP Shadow!
Going to have to say the Mapex edged out Ludwig on this one…simply down to sonic control and warmth.
I can’t believe I’m saying this:
MAPEX
The Mapex Shadow is incredible! All of the Black Panther snare drums are great.
That's the winner for me.
Ludwig and Pearl are very beautiful too.
I like less the DW snare, not my favorite sound (even if it's clearly a beautiful snare drum).

Maprx are actually quite good, I have several and they definitely hold up against some of my more expensive snare.
@@thepluggy1 I didn't say they were bad, and notice I did give it my vote. Thanks
@@steverichdrummr no problem 😊
The mapex wins it for me!
easy, Mapex!
Maypex sounded great in both tunings
This is tough because I really dig that stavecraft snare on lower but I like the dw on higher. I think I overall like the pearl though. Stavecraft for the win
I’m not a Mapex fan…well, maybe until now. Wow!! That Black Panther was just butter! Mapex, Pearl, DW, Ludwig.
Mapex
Mapex BP Shadow for me. All sound great.
Ludvig Classic Oak,, 💖🥰💖
Mapex is my favourite but only for a small amount. They all sound great
Mapex for the win. It just edged out the DW. Both are wonderful snares.
I am not a Mapex guy, but it takes the blue ribbon by a "smidge" over the Pearl Stavecraft Tai Oak.
They were all good, but man that DW Custom had some snap, crackle & pop, especially at the higher tuning. DW takes it for this round.
Black panther shadow 🎉
Mapex Shadow, very closely followed by the pearl
1. Mapex
2. Pearl
3. DW
4. Ludwig
mapex sounded awesome
Ludwig for the W again
D dub 2nd
Starcraft close 3rd
Panther last
DW
DW for the win....close second was the Pearl Stave
gaaaahhhhh..,.. it's difficult but i gotta go with the Mapex snare
Mapex shadow, followed by the Pearl Stavecraft for me.
Can't believe I'm saying it, but Mapex is the sound that caught my ear!!!
Mapex does it for me. Peace and Blessings 🙏✝️
the mapex BP shadow wins this week for me. The DW is close behind tho :)
The Mapex choke-slammed all those old guys out of this round!
Out of these 4, for me, surprisingly……the Mapex
Ludwig Classic Oak. It has a slightly more open sound compared to my second favorite, the Mapex.
DW was the best of this round, Ludwig 2nd, Pearl 3rd and Mapex 4th.
Have to stay with the Ludwig Classic Oak.
Tough one for sure. I gotta go with the DW. But the Luddy Oak was right behind it. Just like the way you could hear the DW breathe just a tad more.
I have to go with the Mapex BP, it sounded the best and even had a more appealing finish
My vote is for the Ludwig!
Mapex smokes the other snares.
My vote goes for the one that took me by surprise - the Mapex Shadow!
Ludwig for the win again
The Ludwig Oak for me. All sound great though
A close call between the DW Collectors and Mapex Shadow. I'd pick the DW.
Ludwig Classic Oak for me 🔥
The Ludwig Classic Oak is the best, that mid-rage attack is just so great, I could see it getting a lot of studio use.
For me it's the Ludwig classic oak in medium tuning. DCP is the best drum shop and staff anywhere
I liked all of them, but I'm going with my first choice... the Mapex.
Mapex won that battle
1. Mapex--overall hits all the points
2. Ludwig--amazing personality, love that sound
3. Pearl--interesting, did not sound as I expected it would
4. DW--great sound, but did not scratch the itch for me in this round of Drumble
***DCP, another great video!***
💯🫡
Mapex all day for me
I didn't think I would like it but my vote is for the Mapex Snare. It just sounded awesome low and higher tuning.
Mapex Black Panther 14x6.5 Shadow Snare Drum Natural, what did I just say???
Again, great video, DCP. You guys are a jet flying, limousine riding, kiss stealing son of a gun!!!
Ludwig Classic Oak!!! Thanks, Chris Zinn
DW Custom Profile
Mapex Shadow!!!!!
DW my pick this time. Best Tonk!
Mapex Shadow 🥁!
WOW, tough choice.... But Ludwig gets my vote.... The Mapex was a very close second. I like that you have do both room mics and full mics.... This is fun and educational. Thx
Black panther
Mapex...I guess.
Dw Snare 8 lugs ?
Mapex on this one - sounded great in both tunings
Mapex Shadow
Mapex Shadow
I’m running with the Shadows of the Night
Mapex takes it
Ludwig looks and sounds the best🤤
Ludwig Classic Oak for sound, look and brand.
Ludwig🔥🔥🔥
Mapex Black Panther
Mapex ❤❤❤
My vote is for the Mapex Shadow!
The DW
Mapex
Mapex
Mapex
DW
I like the Pearl Stave Craft Thai Oak the best, looks fantastic too
There is nothing like the LM 402 Supraphonic.....so the winner is.....
The winner is the Pearl Stavecraft! But putting 6.5x14 drums against it is not fair because it just cuts better!
