Hi Trevor. You’re the smart guy holding the camera while Anna works hard paddling the sea kayak. I love it!! Enjoy your travels and give Anna a break once in awhile.
We went to Turks a few years ago and are going back this fall. It is expensive, but you can save some $ by buying a few things from the grocery store. We usually only eat out one meal per day, and we buy beer from the brewery where its cheaper and take it to the beach with us. Its still going to be pricey but there are ways to cut costs, and the beaches are totally worth it. We also travel with another couple so you can split the cost of things.
Hi! We are here in Turks and Caicos right now. Your vids have really helped us. We had the guys pick up Sweet T’s chicken today! So good. Thanks for the rec. We may explore this beach tomorrow! Safe travels!
I figured after this $$$ trip, you could use some more coffee on me ☕️ Thanks for the extra vid this week. Look forward to seeing some of your home in Canada 🇨🇦
I have to admit I chuckled over the enormous life vests you two wore while paddling in three feet of very calm water. Congrats on 100k! And safe travels.
Great video :) You fly over Chalk sound when you land on Providenciales. In the sound there is a downed cesna plane that was rumored to be transporting drugs to Florida. There is also a blue hole in the sound .. which is pretty cool. The climate is very dry and the for this reason the Turks Head Cactus ( looks like a Turkish Fez hat ) is found on the flag. On the flag you will find the Turks head Cactus, the spiny lobster, and the Conch. Cheers guys!
Smiths Reef is known to have a lot of current, so please always use flippers when enjoying this reef. Also, water shoes are recommended as the shore is very sharp with limestone and wearing water shoes makes it easier to go in and come out of the water :) If you'd like to partake in the local cultural markets and music please go to the Thursday night fish fry that has now moved next to Mr. Groupers. A great place to purchase off local vendors, taste some great food served up from locally loved resturants, and some pretty awesome "Whine" competitions.. all finished with the great JunkaNoo parade :)
Hi Anna & Trevor. I've really enjoyed your videos for the last couple years and in particular, Dominican Republic. I'm so excited now to see you back in Nova Scotia🇨🇦 (especially Cape Breton Island), by far my favourite place in Canada. After traveling to several countries, it might actually be my favourite place on earth. Have a joyful reunion with your family and friends. 💞Safe travels, all the best, hugs. xoxo
It's absolutely worth it. We headed out for a couple of hours and when we came back we were able to use the pool at Las Brisas, shared jugs of rum punch with friends - followed by an incredible sunset dinner. This location was heavily damaged by a hurricane a few years ago (it wiped out the restaurant), so support them if you can.
Love your content! We have 15 more days until our trip so your tips have been most timely! Only comment from one white-skinned northerner-really need to cover up more and wear a hat! I used to sunbath a lot when I was younger like you but have really regretted not not being more protective with my skin. Tans are nice but no skin cancer scars is better!
I am so happy to see this vid! I made reservations to go to the DR, Las Terrenas. Partially based on watching all your DR clips. The DR looks & sounds like my kind of place. This Turks as well as Punta Cana, not my style. Before watching this though I was starting to wonder if the DR travel counsel gave you free stuff to say almost always nice things 😅. I appreciate your channel. Always hitting the like 👍🏼 button and I’m subscribed.

The shit @1:50 WOW that water! Absolutely beautiful! We’ve had friends visit for vacation, they loved it! But, I still feel like a stay more than a week traveler, we’d prefer the DR. Great mid-week video guys what a surprise! 💖~Cara
@@DelightfulTravellers the water looked amazing! But I’m too cheap 😂, and to get the equivalent at DR & afford to stay longer….(hope no one hates me here)…your DR vlogs sold us! 💖
I also follow VanCityVanLife. He went to Nova Scotia for a couple of weeks and traveled the whole area from North to the South. It was beautiful. Someday I'm going to visit there.
I love Turks and Caicos. It is an expensive island but you get that rest and relaxation that one needs from regular life. The beaches are not that crowded compared to other islands with mega resorts. Another tip, seaweed is usually not a problem in Grace bay (Cancun/Punta Cana gets pretty bad at times). I've been there 3 times and the water has always been crystal clear on the North Side (Grace Bay). A car rental is a must if you want to eat at different restaurants. You wont spend too much money on gas since those small cars are fuel efficient. Also, there is no cruise port in Providenciales, you wont get the cruisers there. I believe the only cruise port is on Grand Turk. Summer is their low season but I think things are changing with more influx of tourists over the years.
The annual Conch Festival in Providenciales is what you really need to see. Conch done every way imaginable - in fact, it's a competition! And you can sample the entries and participate by voting.
hey guys nice video as always. i was there in turks and Caicos back in May of this year, and everything you said is true. the island is crazy expensive and like you said no culture etc. the water is beautiful...would i come back not sure...

So appreciate you watching. Overall, both islands are very pricey and have a lot of similarities. They are both quite flat, mostly American tourists and they both have epic beaches. Some fo the best. If you're staying at high end hotels then I'm sure it's even a better experience. If I'm being honest, they lack the culture aspect for us. It's tricky to have a local experience in general. But, that's likely not why you're visiting 😀 - Trevor
Yes nice beach yes but it is a little 2 expensive for me this is why I travel to Dominican rep & Mexico 🇲🇽 all inclusive not expensive at all compared to the Turks …
I am thinking that the guise of your " Is this a place where we could live?" provides continuiity to you site. Possibly, speak your truth, and indicate "we are digital nomads, and will continue to do so, because of making money." You are lovely, but speak the truth!
No culture? Feels like "being in America"? Surprised to see jerk chicken on Provo? Someone needs a history lesson. The indigenous culture was wiped out over 400 years ago due to diseases and enslavement by Spanish colonization. Turks and Caicos was then governed by a succession of other countries - first Bermuda, then the Bahamas and then (and now) as a British overseas territory. Most of the people that work on Provo come from Jamaica and Haiti. So, given the history, it should not come as a surprise that they have no inherent indigenous "culture", per se, nor should it be a surprise that many of the popular dishes served are or can be traced back to these other Caribbean islands. As well, there are 42 islands in the Turks and Caicos chain. Grand Turk (where the capital, Cockburn Town is), North Caicos and Middle Caicos all have historical sites you can visit, and did you miss the "cultural" Fish Fry on Provo where they have a Junkanoo Band? I'm not sure where "America" fits into all of this. There aren't even any American stores in Provo because they are not allowed. It even looks like you spent most of your time in the Turtle Bay/Bight Park area instead of Grace Bay - usually ranked as the #1 beach in the world. I don't think you did justice to this remarkable country. You formed strong opinions but only scratched the surface.
