Hi guys, we are currently visiting turks and caicoa and we watched some of your videos and suggestions. We ate at Da Conch Shack and agree that the Conch fritters are delicious. Their drinks are also very good, not watered down. The only thing we didn't like is that the service felt rushed. We were asked at least 6 times if we were done and we were still working on our food. Other than that, the ambiance, the location and the views are incredible. It was truly a unique experience.
Hemingways , Mr Groupers ,bungaloos , and coco bistro for dinners ! And somewhere cafe was my favorite for breakfast ! Husband and I have been 3 times in the last 2 years and can’t wait to go again ! Love the island . I feel like all the choices you provided were all great lunch locations . And your right about cost for food there !! So expensive
I went to Turks in May and we stopped at da conch shack. It was really good. Most food on the island wasn’t spicy, but very flavorful. Our favorite find was the grouper from Mr. Grouper’s.
You saved the best for last! I had some great Conch fritters on St. Thomas. I was excited at the beginning of the vlog cuz I thought you guys had conch fritters, but was disappointed when they were Mac & Cheese balls instead. But the conch arrived at the end! Yum!! 😋 Perfect with the cold beer!
Hi both! I’ve recently started watching your travel vlogs and love them- keep them coming! I was also really interested watching some of the vlogs on Nova Scotia. Anyway, thanks for making such great videos!😊☀
Just hit the Subscribe button, thanks for sharing! We’ll be checking this place out when we’re down there for Labor Day Weekend! Keep the videos coming guys!
Hi guys. Love the videos here. Conch is more like mussels, oysters or clams category. Snails are more like in escargot lol. I love the reference to conch as giant snail. I tried to picture that and got a good chuckle. 😂 Im sure the fritters were delic. I love dipping the fritters in the sauce which goes with it. The texture to me reminds me of calamari, scallops or yes shrimp.
I have to say I love that place look... so relax and cool and .. the Cocovan... such an original name🤣😂🤣 keep having fun guys and being my best company while I cook.
@@DelightfulTravellers chicken breast stew ... boiled green bananas, white rice, ground turkey and roasted sweet potatoe.... thats my week batches of food ... paired with some fresh salad...very "healthy" Dominican American Food.🤣😂🤣
We love Turks. Lots of great local food options. But I just don’t understand. How did you not get the fresh ceviche or conch salad at the conch shack??? You really missed the boat on that one. They went out to the pen and brought me fresh conch right out of the ocean. We ate it raw right in the beach. To die for. Also the van is good but coco’s restaurant is prob the best on the island. I’m b here now if you need any more info on places. Hitting the famous fish fry tonight.
The food there is absolutely amazing 🥰 I didn’t go to dinner outside of the resort but I tell you I feel like I didn’t miss anything. Oh wait I did got to Sweet T’s
Hi Anna and Trevor! Another marvellous video, thank you. Can't believe you got a delicious 3 piece chicken dinner for $5.00 and it looks yummy too. Love those GORGEOUS conch shells, did you bring one home to Nova Scotia? Hmmm, perhaps it's illegal, I must google that question, unless you already know the answer. (LoL) 💕Stay safe and joyful. XoXo
@@DelightfulTravellers I've been sharing your RUclips channel with several friends and a couple family members. (And they love your vlogs!) My niece and her hubby are leaving Toronto for Punta Cana next week and they've been informed not to leave their resort as Canada posted a travel advisory because of a "big spike in crime." Hmm, I'm just curious, have you seen or heard anything in the news or perhaps updates regarding an increase in crime? Not to worry if you can't respond. Heaps of hugs❣️ xo
A lot of deep fried foods...arent there any local shacks, or street vendos who sell like grilled fish, Octopus, plaintin etc. Do we have to eat at the resport ? I would love to explore the local culture and taste their 'home' cooking !!!
Great video Trevor and Anna I don't know how the chicken combo is $5 and three balls of macaroni and cheese is $10. Everything look great but that first place was on a pricey side obviously
Rice and peas are eaten in lots of (Caribbean) countries like Jamaica. The "peas" are never green/snap/sugar peas (actually peas are also just legumes), they are what most people think of simply beans. I know it with pigeon beans, also saw kidney beans. Though no lentils or alike that you thought of.
90% sure that "rice and peas" is just another name for "rice and beans". It's still beans. The food looked good..but my God, some of those prices. At least the chicken was super affordable! 👌
Greeting from Dominican Republic Trevor what you say you come to Dominican Republic I'm inviting you to a town in the Dominican Republic very close to Punta Cana one thing is for sure that only I am the person who could make that possible now the following will be that I will have to be there and you would just have to arrive at Punta Cana and read where in the map where the town is located and arrive
Do we can if the animals for your meat were humanely raised? Can’t watch the rest of this video if you don’t care about how animals how treated to feed your belly.
Turk and Caicos is not like the Dominican Republic.. DR is greener and lusher and more affordable. Turk and Caicos is a more dry, the beach is gorgeous, like the rest of the beaches in the Bahamas area, but it is too expensive and I don't care about stuff being imported excuse. They can keep it !

When will you travel to Nassau Bahamas to review Bahamian food?
Conch fritters are alright but i find the breading a bit much. Cracked conch and conch ceviche is where it's at! Da Conch shack is amazing

The rice and peas are probably pigeon peas. My husband is from Puert Rico and they call the peas, Gandules.
