- This was my final destination on my road trip adventure in the Midwest. This is the ultimate shopping experience for anyone who enjoys old service station equipment, soda advertising, porcelain and tin signs, gas pumps, gas pump globes, tractor signs, and more!
Enjoy,
Rob
I've been to Iowa Gas several times going back to the first one in the 1980s (prices for things were a bit tame at that 1st show). Nice choice of music to accompany viewing all these mostly gas station items. Thanks for sharing!
Very cool! Prices are crazy nowadays. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Iowa Gas advertises the show as being Wednesday-Friday. A buddy and I drove up from Kansas City arriving at 8 am Wednesday morning. 75% of what Rob showed in this video was gone. Room to room starts on Sunday. I was aware of this but it was still frustrating. There was still a lot available but most was well beyond my budget. Thanks for the videos Rob
Hello Tom, What you mentioned was very frustrating to many people. The administrators need to read and hear what you wrote before this show is destroyed. Every year people show up earlier and earlier to get the “good deals” and this makes it a scattered event. I noticed vendors and people coming and going this year days in advance. I never saw a full parking lot swap meet set up on any one day. Thanks for watching my videos and for leaving the comment. I’m very sorry you were disappointed and I understand it. Take care.
Tim I agree with you 100 percent!!! The promoters need to make some adjustments for sure . This year’s event is coming soon. I was already mailed my entry form.
Thanks rob
You’re welcome Mike, Thanks for watching! Rob
Enjoyed!!!
This is a fun event if you like old gas station memorabilia!
No mention of the sweet Mazda trade? You must be saving that for a separate episode. It was awesome meeting you in Iowa. You are as nice and genuine in person as you appear on video. GPR, keep you the good work, TR
Hello Tom, I have shared our story with friends and family. I really like the sign, brochure, and Mazda ties!!! Thank you for everything and for your nice compliment. I am glad we had a chance to meet in person! Let’s keep in touch. I would like to hear more Mazda rotary stories sometime. Take care, Rob

Thanks Chris!!! Hopefully I will see you at the Pacific Coast Gas Bash but I not sure I can make it yet. Your friend, Rob
Hey mate, love watching your videos all the way from Australia. Can you do any videos on your personal collection?
Hello friend, Thanks for watching my videos! Yes I will do a few on my collection in the future. Rob
They are a great collection. Of old gas pumps. Wonder if l should start collecting battery chargers🤷🏽♂️
Thank you for watching and commenting. Actually vintage battery chargers from old gas stations are collectible. I have one or two in my collection. 😊
New sub ! Liked 🐸😉😊🙌🎉
Thank you very much !!! Appreciate you watching and subscribing. Rob
Live in iowa.didnt know it existed.
Worth going to next year if you can attend. Rob
I has watched several of you videos , I never see any " DX " stuff. I wonder why ???
Probably because I do not travel the Midwest areas enough. I had one has pump that I bought from a farmer in Kansas once and it had four pieces of DX gasoline advertising glass in it. I have one DX porcelain sign and frame in my collection which is not displayed right now. Thanks for watching my videos. Rob
Loved the video. Great to tag along on the road trip. Btw I am still interested in that Edsel wagon if we can get in touch with each other?
Hello Mark, Thank you for watching my videos and leaving nice compliments . I am going to hopefully go back and revisit the gentleman with the Edsel. I want to inspect it closely. If I do not buy it maybe I will contact you . Have a nice day, Rob
Screw the "GUTS". no need for all of that extra weight. Old pumps will never pump gas ever again. SAVE YOUR BACK AND AVOID INJURIES.
Thank you for leaving your opinion. Some of us appreciate the machinery aspect of these old pumps. I agree they are very heavy and hazardous if not properly handled like any heavy equipment.
UR Stuck that may be your opinion but if I am buying a rare or a clock face pump I will most likely pass if the guts do not come with it. It would be like buying a grandfather clock with no mechanism inside. It is just an empty cabinet then. I am an engineer by trade and I like the mechanical aspect of the guts and have several of mine rebuilt and pumping fuel. I think we are seeing more and more serious pump collectors that prefer original pumps with guts. Hopefully you don’t gut a pump someday and then miss a sale because the guts are gone!
