You are welcome and yes MI is for Michigan (I live at the base of the thumb on the mitten 😉) I wash it 3 times and dry it before i sew with it. This preps the fleece so it will wick away the pee and be absorbed into the middle layer. When I first got my girls I was using that carefree bedding. Fleece seemed to expensive because they're usually around $60 a pop which for me is chunk of cash to shell out. But in the long run they pay for themselves and you're not throwing out shavings or bedding every week. Fleece is so much easier to care for and I think the piggies like it better too. Glad to see the boys in the pocket, I can't say how much I love the Guinea Dad liners!!
I made a liner from fleece and it was very time consuming and pricey as my piggies habitat is 3’ x 6’ and when looking for a more affordable solution that would be absorbent but still dry well, I came across mover’s blankets at the local Home Depot. They were the perfect size and I was able to get a dozen of them for what it cost me to make one fleece liner and my piggies love it. Just a suggestion to anyone on a tight budget or who don’t sew. And thank you, Scotty for your channels, I swear your my brother from another mother...LOL
You crack me up. I've just started watching your videos as my son's birthday is today and he is getting guinea pigs for his birthday. I've been busy making a bunch of stuff for the piggies and their new home so we've been doing a lot of research on piggies and cages, etc...and I enjoy your videos. Love the cactus and tie-dye fleece, Karen! Love the pigs too.❤️
What about a fruity poops t-shirt with a guinea pig I guess it would have to be Timmy instead of two can Sam?! I will get on that next week. I love all of you guys you are hilarious
I can't thank you enough for your videos. I love, love guinea pigs. Hubby won't let me have any more since George died because I am allergic to guinea pigs and insanely allergic to hays and mold. You have a soft low voice that I can listen to when I have a migraine and can't read. Your videos save me on bad days.
Scotty you're like a kid on Christmas day! 😊 That cage looks great, everything's looking so coordinated & Pipsqueak looks happy. He so sweetly waited patiently for you to apply that cbd gel. So precious! God bless that generous lady who sewed together such beautiful fleece. I'm a huge fleece fan. 👍👍👍💟💜💙
I make my fleece liners too, I've always like being crafty so I used it as a chance to buy my first sewing machine. Worthy investment. Making a lot of pee pads really made a big difference too. I put them anywhere they like to sleep in, makes it really easy to spot clean. Timmy is really lucky to have a dad like you.
Beautiful fleece! I love fleece leaps and bounds over anything else. It's so clean and keeps things odor free. Not to mention you can change out to some really cute prints! We line ours with uhaul pads which is recycled denim. Don't feel guilty for not doing it sooner - you're doing it now - he is so happy and mobile. You're an incredible Guinea Pig Dad and they all know it.
I'm really liking this better than paper bedding because it's a cleaner dust free environment, it's easier to maintain clean, you just shake off the droppings, or brush them away, then wash and replace. I think the little piggies are in a safer, cleaner home this way. Better for all concerned. Their health is ours too.
One secret that I found is definitely run the dirty fleece under the shower and rinse off all that absorbed pee otherwise they will never smell clean and I pity the people using the washer afterwards
@@ScottysAnimals .... using white vinegar mixed in water (in addition to clear and clear detergent) is a life saver....takes the smell out. Oh, Timmy, what a blessed piggy! So, so happy for Timmy, he deserves it! I am waiting on getting some Guineadad liners soon, they look great! Scotty I use fleece too, in both my cages, everything is fleece, and you can put a piece of large absorbent material under the piggy pocket in the Guineadad liner so it doesn't get as bad under there, and you can use it a few more days! You are hilarious in this video, and the reason it has two sides of design is because you can flip it over and use the cactus design one time and the tie dye the next time! Please kiss Timmy for me!
i love fleece liners and put layers of newspapers underneath, last about a week with daily picking up poo-poo bullets)) also use small fleece pads for sleeping and eating spots that I flip over when wet...
I love your commentary too 😂 I plan on using fleece liners and pee pads for our guinea pig which we haven't got yet. But I want a perfect home for him or her when she or he arrives. Plus the best care and your videos are helping so much.
Its a happy world in there. Here's my Pro Tip. If you use a frontload washer like I do, it will want to spin fast to dry them out at the end. My fleece load for some reason will never balance out. The material is light but the water is heavy. It spins, wobbles, stops and tosses the load back and forth to try to balance it, then tries again... many times. Fleece is delicate, so all this tossing about isnt good for it. I found the solution was choose no spin at the end of the cycle. Then let it sit for about 10 minutes to let most of the water drip out. Then run a seperate spin only cycle. It spins right up to high speed on the first try. This saves wear on the fleece, saves power, and actually takes less time.
Hello from Canada 🇨🇦 first of all thank you for your amazing educational videos! My guinea pig goes under the fleece and does not come out for long periods of time. I’m afraid he will suffocate! We just put fleece in today and they immediately started popcorn-ing. I also quickly noticed the difference once I removed the bedding from the house. I've been having to use my inhaler a lot since I got them. Hoping fleece will help with asthma. Other tip put a bit of vinegar in with wash.it helps clean it and wicking. Don't use fabric softener or the pee won't wick. Mine love fleece. Keeps their feet dry. I Also have smaller ones I put under the tunnels and houses as this is where they Dirty the most.

@@Stitchmad1243 Just simple dirt cheap white vinegar. It cost me $1 for 2 Litres. I put about 2 TBSP in the wash and the same as a rinse instead of fabric softener. I'm really struggling with this. I have tried pine, paper, pine / wood pellets, pellets with fleece over, fleece with uhaul, fleece with batting, fleece and puppy pads, felt and puppy pads, felt and fleece and fleece with a bedding kitchen.. I have 6 piggies separated into 2 groups of 3. Idk why but every pet bedding has given my piggies mites. Idk why I see so many people with bedding and they dont have a problem. So weird. I hate all the dust in my house too. But the fleece does make my piggies smell and I hate that they have to lay next to their poop since it doesn't fall between the layers of pine. I change my fleece out daily right now and I don't mind about that I actually like that because I can interact with them more. I am just having a really bad time with this and wish there was more videos about this. Both my houses for the 3 groups are each a 4x3.5 c&c.
Oh I just use adult washable bed protectors do similar thing have admit they do smell after a day but I wash them every day anyway. Know it works well since my daughter heavy sleeper so use them for her.

Hi Scotty, ive discovered your channel through the shelters youtube channel. I just have a couple of questions:
1. What cleaners do you use to clean the bottoms of the cages?
2. Where can I find a guinea pig shelter? I live in Michigan and I dont wanna just shop for a piggie because of the treatment given to their pets.
So happy for you & Timmy! It was so funny to see Pipsqueek video bombing! Lol 🤣🐹❤ he's like "what's going on over there? I want in on it. Lol they get new bedding huh what about me" 😂😂😂
How big is your cage? I think have an extra 2x4 fleece for you! /I had my appendix out at 13

What is the link to her store??? Thanks!
She says she doesn't have a store and that she just makes them for her own piggies but I bet she will be reconsidering because her taste in patterns is impeccable
