I neeeed that brush for all the water bottles I have now.. I rescued SIXXXXX piggies from our local shelter bc they were advertising them as free all over social media 🤦🏻♀️ I didn’t want them to go into the wrong hands. I was thinking they were Christmas gifts someone didnt want but it was a whole damn family! Momma, daddy, 5 babies .. I immediately separated the boys(3) and I’m rehoming them after our vet appointment if they’re in good health.. but I’m afraid the mom is pregnant already, will find out soon... so now I have 7 sweet girls and knock on wood, they all get along so well! So we spent the weekend building a c&c mansion, 3x9 with a 3x4 loft, & watching your videos! Thanks for sharing all your knowledge with us Scotty!
I'm watching this older video and I've never even had a guinea pig. I use to want one when my son was younger. I started watching because I love all animals and find men that love animals too very 🔥💓
Hi Scotty! I've been living with guinea pigs for over 10 years now. They are my family. We survived 4 deaths (bad molars and bladder stones) and a few miraculous recoveries. One of them was a punctured eye case. All liquid has leaked out of the eye (that looked like boiled egg white). You've mentioned Terramycin Ointment... but it is an antibiotic to fight bacterial infections. You need something totally different to treat traumatic injuries. I used Corneregel (eye gel) that contains Dexpanthenol as an active ingredient for about 2 months (daily). And the eye literally grew to its normal size again. New blood vessels appeared. Color returned. Though the eye was almost blind, it didn't prevent the piggy from being active and running around the apartment. No surgery was necessary to remove the destroyed eye (as doctors threatened). It was a miracle. Hopefully, this info (or rather Corneregel) will help other unfortunate pigs. :)
Funny after watching your videos to learn about my pigs. I had a phone call someone left two pigs in a hot parking lot in phoenix Arizona. I came to their rescue I have a heard now !! I pray to god those old owners are okay to lose such nice pets. I love them as if they were my own. Now they are. God bless your channel. And be awesome to one another !!
Something else that’s important for using Terramycin for hay pokes or irritated eyes: Be sure to use one pea sized amount of Terramycin once a day for at last 7-10 days. In my experience, I stopped the terramycin once I noticed the eye looked healthy again after 3 days but the eye problem was recurring. Once I started it again for 7 days straight, the eye problem hasn’t returned. Antibiotics should be in the system for 7 days minimum to be affective. :)
@@yourlocalrat3757 I've seen sometimes on the Saturday live programming they have had a piggy with a hay poke, and they could actually see the piece of hay still in the eye and they were able to remove it at that same time. The eye was "cloudy" and it was like a miracle, the eye cleared up very quickly. This can all be done at home. Obviously, if it doesn't resolve soon then it could be something that requires a vet visit but the hay-poke often can be dealt with without a vet visit.
Scottie thank you so very much for your wonderful videos. They are by far the best I've seen. I have an animal sanctuary in an area that has no shelter. A lady just dumped out guinea pigs in her yard in January! Anyway they are here on the farm I keep them in a green house. I of course had a good idea of what they needed, but your videos are the most informative of the many details critical to give excellent care. Your work here is saving guinea pigs lives. ✌️❤️🙏

To me must HAVEs are things you cant take a chance on not having because if there is a delay even by hours things could tip the point into criticality.. #1) Critical Care ( Practice serving it ahead of time! Scotty, thank you for this educational video. I am currently trying to raise 3 piggies. Love how you held 2 pigs during the video and the periodic kisses you give them. Makes me so happy to know guinea pigs have a breed on their side. 💗💗💗
An alternative I would recommend instead of C&C grids for play pens would be wire cooling racks (I got mine from the dollar tree). Really helpful for young piggies who can escape through C&C grids! 🤗

I have 2 bonded females and got a new one 2 days ago. I want to have a small herd since that adds to their well being. One of my original 2 hates the new girl so to reduce the stress and risk of injury I allowed them to get acquainted in same cage with a divider between the 2 and in a day they were almost bonded. I think this is better than forcing them together.
Billy! Good video Scotty!! I love my fiddkestick tunnel and the snack shack. Might be worth mentioning that when buying syringes to make sure the tip is plain and not the type intended for a needle which will have kind of a double wall at the tip. So just look at the tip of the syringe and make sure it's simple and not complex. Also, most vets will give you a few for free if you ask nice on your next visit but you can also puck them up at feed/farm stores like Tractor Supply. Also, those fiddkestick tunnels can be used as a ramp too, they're very stiff and stay in the shape you bend them too
Your videos are very informative, very kind and friendly. I appreciate you and study all you share. It means so much to have as much knowledge as possible, to treat the little piggies with all they deserve and need. Thank you for YOU and your inspiration and especially passion!! 🥰💜☮🏵
Optixcare plus is probably my favorite thing I have in my med kit. Just one drop to an irritated eye can prevent an ulcer from forming! I also keep a bag of critical care in my freezer at all times 😁 My pigs like the snak shak too but prefer the U shaped one with the circle window. First thing they do is sit in it, stick their head through the window and munch downward until there's nothing left. Then they can chew the rest 😄

I have so many syringes for my piggies, small for antibiotics and large for Critical Care. I’ve had hay poke on my piggies also. Not in eye, thank goodness! Mostly on their noses. Billy is a big boy!!! I’ll try the tunnel. Looks great! Spout needs to be cleaned. Gets very yucky! I use syringe for vitamin c drops but only a few drops and give orally. Then I put water in the syringe afterwards and give to piggy to get taste of drops out of their mouth. I’ve never had a problem doing it this way. Thanks for your recommendations! ❤️
I would warn if you have a really small Guinea pig that can fit into the snack shack like my Guinea pig could mine started to mold. So I threw it away and started using alternatives like wooden hides with hay racks. Definitely something you should think about before buying it (keep in mind I have a special needs pig she is less than a pound and so so small that this probably isn’t a problem you will have) the other thing I can say is my friends Guinea pig got stuck in their and the emergency vet took a long time to carefully get her pig out so I tend to stay away from those but it’s really your choice. Lastly the snak shak has a lot of ingredients in it I tend to stay away from like toxic wood shavings and honey but if your pigs aren’t chewers like mine you should be good
I use the 1 mL syringe for medicine but I think the other one I have is 5 mL. I use the bigger one for critical care (mixed thinly if pig can’t take it off a spoon) and water (the latter only sometimes). I’m lucky I have a pretty much endless supply of syringes since my mom’s a doctor 😂 I just ask her to bring more home from her office. Don’t have to buy gloves, gauze, or qtips either! And because of her, I’m able to keep bactrim in my emergency kit. That stuff is amazing and has cleared up ear infections and UTIs in no time! My bonded boys came to me from their previous owner with a snak shak. I threw it out though since they were literally eating it. They’re naughty boys (I love them though lol). Bought them the space houses for Christmas and they’re chewing them to bits and I’m pretty sure they’re eating those too (and they eat sooo much hay so that’s not the issue) 🤦♀️ I’ll be lucky if those last another month. My hut flipper also figured out how to flip them... and I bought them cuz he was flipping the plastic pigloos so often and I got fed up.
Hey Scotty! I love your videos and watched a lot of videos in your channel. In the last year you seem not healthy. You lost a lot of weight and muscles in you face and your voice has changed too. Lastly the snak shak has a lot of ingredients in it I tend to stay away from like toxic wood shavings and honey but if your pigs aren’t chewers like mine you should be good
love ur channel and piggies
Abbys the best!
Wowzers
♥️ is it okay for all female go to be in 1 cage? Coz I have 2 piggies
My piggies are too busy chewing hay to play with toys. They are like...mehhhh
Cool 😎 that's going to be very useful im going to have my first male Guinea pig 🐹 I'm so excited 😍😍💞💞
Hey Scotty! I love your videos and watched a lot of videos in your channel. In the last year you seem not healthy. You lost a lot of weight and muscles in you face and your voice has changed too. You are aging soo rapidly that it makes me worry. I love your videos and you seem to be such a kind and lovely person. I hope you are not seriously ill. if you wouldn't matter i wouldn't say something. ❤️
Never got an update on Mike and Billy, or Pip and Dice! Now I see Dice moved in with Mike, that Billy couldn't handle a friend, and can't see Pip xD noisy Nate... good items, too! Don't know how much it would be to get it send here, though, plus... well... I don't really have more space, if the boys have to be in the cage at the same time xD
Those "snak shacks" are also good for guinea pigs teeth, it helps with grinding them down
Great video Scotty! i really enjoy and appreciate all these tips, keep on loving and doing your thing!
Amazing video loved watching the boys again
We love you scotty!!!!!!
Thanks Rebekah!
Brilliant video . Cheers
