My piggies squabble if a bit of hay had been in since the last clean out and then I bring the brush out their cage (they run round my conservatory as their indoor cage is in there) and then as I put it in the black bin bag and go for another scoop to pigs run across my lap and JUMPED in the bag and I had to pull them out. It’s the worst part about being an owner
Kierstyn Connell same! My new cage will be 5 ft by 3 ft plus another piggy will be with Marshi and Avalanche! Marshmallow and Little Shy Baby will be so happy.
I love how she uses a paper bag so she can put it in the compost. I got an advertisement on my screen for the same pads that she uses , probably because I was looking on amazon for one!
you're amazing, love your piggies!! Also very decently of you to tell your watchers why somethings are uploaded earlyer, later or when somethings change. You are my favorite on youtube and my piggies are also happy about that, for they have much diy toys to play with and they like it! Thank you for all your input and most important, for beiing a great guinea-pig mommy! Much love from your neighbour country, Holland
Gatsby and Little One have a really good bond I always notice them together I think it’s nice seeing opposite genders in such great friendships I wish my pigs were like that they fight over the last piece of apple peel!!
Well that's one question answered. The other is...who in their right mind would dislike this video? I understand not leaving a like but a dislike? This channel is about as wholesome as it gets.
There are over 300 likes at the moment and just one single dislike - that's not even worth writing a single word about except you are the one who did it for getting attention on that comment now!
Gosh, I love the sound Guinea Pigs make when they walk on the pond liner. Also, there are plastic bags (though I guess it's not normal plastic)that's compostable. But since you have no massive amounts of bedding anymore, paper bags are big enough, I suppose.
Can't say I really like this 'fleece habitat'. Poo shows up more readily against the grey and in addition to the brightly coloured pockets, it seems more noticeably unnatural looking. That one also feels the need to sweep up fresh poo right away. Patterned fleece adds interest at least and provides a little bit of visual distraction from the poo. JMO.
Oooo! Nice clean fleece for.....Two minutes !😂 I realised that this was filmed four years ago. Bless our Piggies in Heaven and Bless those who are with us. ❤ We Love our Furry Potatoes ❤
Also, check out some of skinnypigs1 videos. She is a fleece expert. I have learned that a kitty litter scooper is so much easier to use when spot cleaning fleece than a brush from watching her. She has great cleaning videos.
I am experimenting with tiny fleece liners inside the 2 hidies that my two guinea pigs usually sleep in. I tried a mini fleece mat for my chinchilla (separate cage of course), so far she is not a fan. When I clean the guinea pig cage, both girls seem to delight in pick up and dragging away my sweeping/cleaning tools. I swear that they have a sense of humor. I think that Little One has a secret training program for the "kind food lady"❤
The fleece looks so nice and clean and easy compared to the wood shavings I use, but I'm worried about the micro-plastic that gets into the oceans through washing fleece and other oil based fabrics. I was wondering if something similar might be found to be used made of natural fabrics, or if it even would be practical at all, for example cotton or wool? I sent also a message to QuineaDad and asked about the same thing. Because it would be wonderful to get something like this made from materials that won't harm nature.
I agree about the microplastics. I am planning to use a 100% wool blanket instead of the fleece. And towels as absorbing material. (I have found woolblankets on second hand, not expensive😊)
I also live in an apartment, but I shake the fleece into a gigantic leaf bag and then shake the bag into the green city compost trash can and then wash normally with detergent with a cup of vinegar. This way seems like a lot more work. Pet vacuum hand vac works great too after you sweep.
We are experimenting with old towels now for floor time. Still have bedding in the cage itself. So far, I'm liking the towels. I am intrigued by the fleece.
after watching skinnypigs1 video,i switched to using a cat litter scoop and a dust pan and it does such a good job at getting poop and hay into the dust pan then a brush!
I found that having an extra set of fleece to cover the cage will save on time. If you have a bin, place it on one of the dirty fleece liners as the "catch all". Lift up one of the fleece liners and brush all the debris into the bin. Toss that into your laundry bag. Repeat until you get to the last fleece with the bin on it. Because you got a hard surface for the base of the cage, you can then just move the bin to a convenient location in the cage and brush off the last fleece into it and sweet up what's left. If you have extra fleece, just pop them in (hence why having an extra set is useful). Of course, everyone is different. I just tend to put a premium on time.
Ur amazing, I always wanted Guinea pigs because I've seen so many videos on how to really take care of them.i would get them but I cant have anymore pets in my apartments
I just bought one of the fleece liners and washed it. Haven't put it inside the cage yet, but I think it's going to work out great! I need to get another one but I wanted to make sure I liked it before buying more than one since they are pricey.
Awesome. It looks like you've got cleaning with the Guineadad* fleece liners down. I pretty much do the same, except I use two horse blanket bags because I've got a top loading washer and the load needs to be balanced out. Good stuff! * This comment is not sponsored by Guineadad. Unfortunately.
I know I’m a year late but hope the presentation went well!! I love Guinea dad! I have one of the biggest fleeces of the mini collection and i have a Midwest one on the way cause I’m bored of them going zoomies and then all of the bedding is suddenly on my feet!😂 also they are 3 months now and i was using the top layer of their hutch cause I didn’t think that they would do too well with the ramp! Now they’re a bit bigger and very confident so I’m gonna try putting in the ramp (and new liner) in a couple of days and see if they are ok with the concept!
Her- moving and shaking out their fleece Guinea pigs- we worked so hard making a mess now your just cleaning it up ill stop you! Hahah ps. My piggies do the same thing
I got two guineadad liners for my guinea pigs with the pockets. A little expensive, but in the end worth it when you consider all the bedding costs and how easy they are to clean.
I really love your channel! I don't think it's very likely that I'll be able to get some piggies, but I still love doing that research so someday I'll be very prepared. I've been thinking, it might be cool if you do a video where what you feed your pigs in a week/ what you would recommend feeding in a week, and how much of each food you would recommend per piggy. If you've already done a similar video, I apologize. I just think it would be a cool and educational video that would help new owners.
Yay I’m so happy! I’m thinking of changing to fleece liners I’m not sure but.....GUESS WHAT I THINK I AM also I love u Julia and ur piggies s cute! I got my new piggie the other day and I called it BUTTERCUP most of u guys wanted this :) better upgrade my profile pic :) now its Scott Bailey Buttercup Buttercup and bailey are so alike and they all get on so well ty for ur tips !
I am a brand new Guinea pig owner and I am thinking about switching to fleece liners. I love your videos. How often do you clean your fleece liners? Do you like them better than bedding? Thanks for any information you can give me so I can keep my piggies happy and healthy :)
I'd say they are better for those who have allergies the fleece liners. I used to have little piggies myself and i used straw for their bedding, it worked great but was very dusty which played on my allergies alot. The fleece you can wash them fairly easily like shown in the video :)
Hi I know this reaction is quite late compared to when this was uploaded, but I was wondering what you have as the bottom of your cage. It doesn't look like wood and I really want to know, so I can start building one that is just as effective and gorgeous as yours!
HI little adventures!! i loveyou guinea pig vids, they actually helped me to take care and bond with my guinea pigs which are both boys. I had watched your video about "a good guinea pig cage" i have a c&c cage but my 2 guinea pigs dont get along. The bottom half is MUCH bigger than the top of course, i have my biggest guinea pig on the top level and my smallest on the bottom level cause my smallest runs around much more, but i feel as if its not so fair, i do give them floor time but whenever they get near eachother they teeth chatter. They have gotten into a huge fight last year during christmas and my biggest guinea pig had bit my smallest guinea pigs front paw. The cages did come with a latter and a divider incase they fight. But like i said i feel as if its unfair like. Should i try and put them both in and watch them and see how it goes and have the latter in there? Cause at first we had the latter in my smallest went up the latter and my biggest guinea pig teeth chattered. So we divided it. Not long ago when i cleaned the cage i put my biggest in the bottom part and my smallest in the top part,. My biggest started running and popcorning, but i switched them around. Sorry if this makes no since got any advise for me? Thanks and Keep up the great work!
Nala Impala I get that but tbh I’m always around and trust me i treat my pets like there my children the only time I will be away from them is when I’m at school or I have something important to do and I’m getting to cages since I bounce back an forth with my parents so I can bring her both places❤️
Hello! I am getting two female calico guinea pigs in the next few weeks (adopting) and I have no clue what to name them. One is a lot more bold and curious and the other is more calm and let’s her sister to the talking😂 if you have any cute names I would be SO happy to here them! Thank you❤️🐹
Hi, I’ve been thinking about changing my guinea pigs to fleece lining and have some questions: 1. What brand of fleece lining do you have? 2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of fleece for the guinea pigs? 3. What do you mean by spotting the cage ? 4. How do wash your fleece? Thanks I love all the videos you are doing😋😋 Mx
Mary Sanderson hi I know I’m not her but I have answers from her previous videos and am quite researched on guinnea pigs. 1. She uses guinneadad wich is available on Amazon 2.advantages are: cheaper in the long run, easy to clean and comfy for Guinness. Disadvantages are: expensive at first purchase, poo and pee are more visible and the Guinness are more directly in contact with Reece’s and urine 3. Spotting is removing The feaces in specific spots now and again and not washing all the fleece liners. This is more maintanence to clean the visible dirt. 4. You use something called a horse bag also available on Amazon. Basically you shake the liners, put them in this bag and zip it up. All it does is keep any guinnea hairs, dirt and waste from getting on your clothes. Hope this helps
I clean my guinea pigs fleece liners by going outside and there is a little section between the bushes and the house and I shake it off out in that section and then I wash them.
Fleece looks like a lot more work, plus you always end up looking at the poos. :( I am very happy with eco paper bedding - poos fall through to the bottom. I use have a large C and C cage with their "cavy cafe" - so all the waste ends up in one small area. Then I spot clean just the small area every day and do big cleaning every 2 weeks. Since all the waste is concentrated in one spot and that one spot is cleaned often - no smell. Daily cleaning takes ~ 2 minutes.
I can’t spot clean my piggies cage with them in it because one of my pigs like to sit in the dustpan!😘🤣
Lol
My rabbits like to throw the dust pan
My piggies squabble if a bit of hay had been in since the last clean out and then I bring the brush out their cage (they run round my conservatory as their indoor cage is in there) and then as I put it in the black bin bag and go for another scoop to pigs run across my lap and JUMPED in the bag and I had to pull them out. It’s the worst part about being an owner
Mine just try to nibble it to death😂😂😂
My guinea pig (while I was gathering the poop) ATE the freaking dust pan rubber liner thing
Yay I’m glad you did a cage cleaning video with your fleece liners! I’m thinking of switching to fleece liners for my pigs♥️
Im also thinking about changing to fleece liners, but i kinda want a bigger cage so i first want to do that and then think about it again 😂
GuineaPigs 101 fleece is great! I use it for my bunnies!
i changed to fleece a few days ago and i have to say it's so much better. the only thing i noticed is that it gets smelly faster.
A cheap alternative for fleece liners is fleece blankets from Walmart with pee pads under it so when switching to fleece save money😄👍🏻
Same
When I get my piggies their bigger cage I’m switching to fleece and I’m so excited!!
Kierstyn Connell same! My new cage will be 5 ft by 3 ft plus another piggy will be with Marshi and Avalanche! Marshmallow and Little Shy Baby will be so happy.
I want to get fleece lining for my piggie Winnie and I'm getting a new friend for him soon too! ( his friend passed but he got to age 8😭)
Same!
Same
Same!
I use fleece to! the first time I put it in the guinea pigs cage they did't know what it was and started to bounce on it, it was really cute!
they were popcorning! :D
I have my piggies in fleece too! Glad you posted this so I can see how you do it!!
Ashlynn McBride I use it for my bunnies!
Me too!
I am planning on getting GuineaDad so when I saw this video I was excited, GuineaDad Fleece Liners are the best Fleece liners I’ve seen.
I love how she uses a paper bag so she can put it in the compost. I got an advertisement on my screen for the same pads that she uses , probably because I was looking on amazon for one!
Sylvester's like "That's MY hay!" 🤣
My piggies are so naughty and advenurous! They always love a nice clean cage too. Your piggies are so
sweet! ♥️🐖
you are the best your guinea pigs must be so happy I am getting guineas for Christmas and your videos are so helpful
LillyBee 397 omg same! All I want is Guineapig stuff
I love all of them. I have one piggy that looks exactly like Sylvester!! His name is Dusty.
You probably need another pig because they get quite lonely when they don't have another Ginypig around
@@WeirdahDude I have three other ones.
@@brayandoceansfingeringboar5642 Oh ok good
MzyMzy Playz same but a female and not exactly because only grey no white.
Well done for being eco friendly. Keep it up.
you're amazing, love your piggies!! Also very decently of you to tell your watchers why somethings are uploaded earlyer, later or when somethings change. I love your channel and piggies you deserve 30,000,000 subscribers
Gatsby and Little One have a really good bond I always notice them together I think it’s nice seeing opposite genders in such great friendships I wish my pigs were like that they fight over the last piece of apple peel!!
I’m new to having 1 it’s been a week now I clean the cage every 2 days your cage is super cute and cozy
Gatsby seems to be loving her new home!! Thanks so much for the video 😊
Guinea dad was a money saver for me. It might be lil expensive but in the long run it saves you money
Omg Ur piggies are way cleaner than my 2 boys, they literally turn the whole cage upside down 😂
I love your guinea pigs and you are one of the best guinea pig moms in the world!

seeing the poops kind of freaks me out lol
Oooo! Nice clean fleece for.....Two minutes !😂 I realised that this was filmed four years ago. Bless our Piggies in Heaven and Bless those who are with us. ❤ We Love our Furry Potatoes ❤
Look at Little One being so confused at the end 😂
I am so happy that you changed to fleece! Shavings are good and all, but fleece is better and cozier! Go little adventures!
I love your guinea pigs💖
So cute Little One was the only pig to stay put as you cleaned. Miss that guy 💔
So I just got a bigger and newer cage for my guinea pig and I was tired of bending getting very where and I watched this video and it helped a lot
Also, check out some of skinnypigs1 videos. She is a fleece expert. I have learned that a kitty litter scooper is so much easier to use when spot cleaning fleece than a brush from watching her. She has great cleaning videos.
Missy Molder I use the same kitty litter scooper skinnypigs1 does & it works like a charm! She definitely is an expert on fleece ☺
I’m impressed you can keep the cage that clean with 5 piggies. My one pig alone pees and poops enough for an army. It’s insane.
I am experimenting with tiny fleece liners inside the 2 hidies that my two guinea pigs usually sleep in. Good luck on your presentation. Knock their shoes off and your babies seem to be doing great with their fleece liners. ❤💗💕😊
We are experimenting with old towels now for floor time. Still have bedding in the cage itself. So far, I'm liking the towels. I am intrigued by the fleece.
Omg iam watching this when u have no upstairs now lol 😆

I just got fleece from Guinea dad and I'm so HAPPY

Why do they go inside the horse bag?
Mine loves hers. I use a free and clear laundry detergent and do a second rinse cycle to make sure all the soap out

Yayyyyyy such a good video!! They seem to be enjoying the fleece!! ❤️
Where do you get pea flakes?
I was wondering that too!! Thank you for asking!!!
From the 'Fressnapf' shop I think! :)
She did mention in another video that she orders pea flakes on zooplus
I live in the USA and get mine from thenaturalcay.com
I heard about them from RUclipsr skinnypigs1
Same I live in canada and it's hard to order pea flakes
Love your RUclips vlogs and good luck on Wednesday also keep up the good work with the guinea pig videos
Forth! I love your guinea pigs they are soo cute!!
Not a hater, but you spell fourth like I just did.
Oh Ha!! didn’t notice lol!!
I wish my guinea pigs were as good behaving as hers when she cleans their page
Your piggies are iconic

Very nice.

I'd like to suggest maybe putting the hay rack further away or outside of the cage so the hay stays nice and clean.
At first, I saw the title of the video as "Guinea pig Race"! 😁
I love how he just casually eating while all the other ones run around
oh guineadad~!!!!🧡🧡
I love your piggys
I spot clean with mine inside too but for a full clean I take them out lol
Very good video!
I was thinking of going to the pet shop tommorow
Why..?
I love your videos
Hi, I’ve been thinking about changing my guinea pigs to fleece lining and have some questions:
1. What brand of fleece lining do you have?
2. What are the advantages and disadvantages of fleece for the guinea pigs?
3. What do you mean by spotting the cage ?
4. How do wash your fleece?
Thanks I love all the videos you are doing😋😋
Mx
Mary Sanderson hi I know I’m not her but I have answers from her previous videos and am quite researched on guinnea pigs.
1. She uses guinneadad wich is available on Amazon
2.advantages are: cheaper in the long run, easy to clean and comfy for Guinness.
Disadvantages are: expensive at first purchase, poo and pee are more visible and the Guinness are more directly in contact with Reece’s and urine
Kinda Early, Love Your Videos!!!
Would a fleece blanket (from Walmart) work as a liner if I put puppy pads under it?
I love you Beautiful Guinea pigs is soo cute like love guinea pigs.
