Thank you so much!! This was very helpful! I just got my guinea pig a friend and I’ve been wondering if I should increase the size of his cage. I will definitely make it larger now!
Guineadad… I’m rescuing my pigs from this store here… I have prepared a 2x4 C&C ❤️ connected to another 2x4 cage both have lofts and are attached. Bonded piggy pair so it’s no big deal haha But I’m concerned because my babies HAVE NEVER HAD ALFALFA HAY… 😢until with me at 2 months of age… I’m concerned about this because they haven’t been properly cared for nor has momma pig… she was only provided pellets the entire time… during pregnancy. Are there any supplements and other things I can give my pigs to help this ❤️😭 They get 1/8cup pellets every morning… veggies at lunch :) and always have hay and water. They get fruit once a week but veggies everyday that’s just because I love my pigs and they eat with me. (I eat salad everyday for lunch haha) So I’m hoping this will help them I’m worried since they are so young
Despite Alfalfa helps guinea pigs during pregnancy and during early stage of their lives, I do not think you need to be too worried too much - it's not as bad as some might say it is as long as they had hay (timothy, orchard, oat, etc) - especially given they had pellets (which are kind of like supplement for guinea pigs). Instead, I would try to determine whether they are underweight. You can do this by feeling their body. Some malnourished guinea pigs might seem ok covered in fur, but you can feel their bone more easily. I think you are doing everything correctly, and as long as you keep them up, they will grow up healthily. You can check out our herb treats selection to find the one with the right benefit for your piggies, but again, you have basics covered pretty well. Spend more time with them, bond with them, and build trust. When they feel comfortable and safe, they will get into and stay in that healthy cycle!
@@GuineaDad already did ❤️❤️ my pigs are named Mochi and matcha Both have been to the vet and are healthy pigs! YAY thank you so much! That cage looks awesome! We have a Midwest habitat for our two girls, but I hate how the he sides are flimsy. I’d love to get this cage, but we also have cats so an open cage isn’t a viable option for our girls. Will you be coming out with a top?
Hey! Im about to be an owner of 2 guinea pigs in a few days, and wanted a temporary place for them because the one im buying will take some time to come. And ive found 3 but dont know which one to pick, could you recommend me? [I'll send u in replies because my comment is getting deleted automatically]
If you have enough room, I would recommend a 2x6 C&C cage, which is 29 x 87.5, which we sell on our website guineadad.com. We also sell 2 x 4 cages, which are 29 x 58.5 and 2 x 5 cages, which are 29 x 73.5. Here's a link: guineadad.com/products/offbeat-piggy-condo-guinea-pig-cage?variant=40092332261464
Is it a full two 2x6 tiered cage or is the second tier just a balcony? If it's just a balcony you should look into getting an additional cage or adding more space to it. The living space for 7 guinea pigs should be about 32 square feet and a 2x6 is 16.43 square feet of space so this really depends on the size of your second tier.
Just in case anyone comes across this and does what I did. The size of c&c panels that are widely used is not 12inch x 12inch. I got 12 panels of 12inch x 12inch to make a 2x4 c&c cage and it is much smaller than the 2x4 cage liner/chloroplast i got 😢

Glad it was helpful!🥰
The bigger the space the better for the piggies
YES! 🥰
I got Kaytee Open Living Pet Habitat, 60" x 30" for my 2 male guinea pigs and it's perfect!
That sounds awesome! Nice and big for your guinea pigs to live their best lives!
Could two male guinea pigs live together in a 2x4 c&c cage or does it have to be bigger?

We have a cage with a top/lid in development right now. Still going to be several months though.
Where do I get those water bottles??
They were a gift but I've seen them at pet stores and on Amazon

Is 6x2 for 4 boys good and also for 3 girls? It’s two Tier cages?

2x6 is for 4 pigs right? So like 2x6 C&C cage at the top and bottom. Like a book self but space between the cages.

Thanks for sharing Manyard. You are correct, the C&C grids are 14x14.
