u r right. NPG were all phenomenal musicians with gospel chops, but wendy and lisa had a simplicity that complimented prince is a special way. Sometimes, Wendy and Lisa sang very straight beatlesque harmonies to go against princes powerful rnb chops making a great chemistry.
The Revolution were cool but you can’t compare the lineups that came afterwards because they were each known for different styles of music. When you compare the musicians as individuals it’s easy to have favorites, example for me, Michael Bland, John Blackwell and Sheila E had the most distinctive sounds as drummers. Sonny Thompson, Mark Brown, Rhonda Smith, Ida Nielsen, and even Levi Seacer Jr were a coach awesome but yet again each did their part in providing a new sound as Prince’s music evolved over time. I love all of the iterations of Prince’s bands but for me my favorite line up, included Renato Neto on Keys, Rhonda Smith on the upright bass, John Blackwell on Drums, Greg Boyer and Macio Parker on the horns but thats because I’m a huge fan of The Rainbow Children album.
+mightyblack1 I think they been through and traveled around the world together at the peak of Prince's career they were a biiiig part of Prince success so I enjoyed or we as fans the revolution
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! This is the best thing that could have come from our heartbreaking loss. My 17 year old daughter and I love the Revolution and we feel better now knowing you all will be back together honoring Prince and keeping your music created with him alive for generations to come. We will try our best to come to the Los Angeles show. Prayers and love, Tony and Evelyn

I love the revolution so much always thought they were one of the greatest groups ever and my favorite group with prince i hope the new tour goes well love you guys
They look like shit and are washed the fuck up....I wouldn't pay to go see tis bullshit... it's all about money why didn't they reunite s when the man was alive.....smh
+Dan Mathis Actually they did reunite while he was still alive. RUclips took most of it down or they took it down themselves. Anyway I believe this was about 5 years ago, but can't remember the exact date right now. Anyway it did happen. I remember Lisa, Wendy, Dez, Mark, Bobby, Matt, and Eric Leeds there. They had another guy there helping out singing whose name I don't recall right now. Looked like a magical night to me, which ironically was held at First Avenue.
+Chada Chamberlain Damn!...with that said, i respect your opinion. I too had hoped for a reunion. even if it was for touring only or perhaps album or even single collabs. especially after the break from Warner Bros, msybe Prince could have kept NPG and still did some stuff with the Revolution. I dont know why they couldn't make this happen while Prince was alive. To be honest, I feel somewhat robbed that they didnt... but somehow I dont think it's about the money for them getting together and touring now. we all know it's not going to be the same without Prince. but remember it wasn't just Prince, it was the Revolution who helped him and vice versa be successful as well. unless they get the hologram perfected beyond belief...they just need to play the music with chorus vocals... I dont want to see someone onstage trying to wear Prince's heels if you get what Im saying...LOL we all know cant NOBODY do it! and...I DONT EVEN WANT TO SEE AN ATTEMPT.. Just my two cents...
I love you guys. It is great to see you guys all together. The Revolution is a part of musical history. Your band would have made any lead singer look good.
Awwww.....wow.....this was so nice and it was so great to see you guys all together. Sometimes, the worst of circumstances bring together the best of things. Hope your tour goes well and brings much delight and comfort to all the fans who have wanted to see the Revolution together again for all these years.
Welcome back Brown Mark and the world grieves for your tremendous loss along with you guys. The Revolution was an amazing band and look forward to seeing you guys on the road b4 too long. Peace
With all the grief these past 2 weeks, it is so thoughtful of you all (Revolution) to come together so very quickly and decide to tour this year. I believe it helps us all and I would guess Prince would have appreciated it. The love for him (and you all) is like nothing I have ever seen before across the USA and beyond. Perhaps MJ and Elvis. In my Book, Prince reigns supreme. I saw you guys at Bogarts and twice at the Coliseum in '85. Now residing in BRooklyn.., I would travel to the ends of the earth to see the future show/s. Thx!🤘🏽
Hope u guys come to Boston-last saw you all on the PR tour-would love to see The Revolution again. Thanks for being a big part of the soundtrack of my youth!
Wow it gives me chills to see them together again. You were all such a big part of my youth. Wonderful you can all come together and mourn your loss together. Somehow it makes it easier to bear the burden of his passing. Hope you all have a great time playing together and I'm sure it will help in dealing with your feelings and the fact that he's gone.
Brown Mark looks bloody great!!! I don't remember ever actually seeing him at all out of all the Revolution I've been watching interviews with over the years. So this has made me happy.
Oh my gosh it is sooo good to see you all together again! Miss Prince so much and I never even met him. Can't imagine your sorrow. Saw you in Long Beach for the Purple Rain tour. Can't wait to see you again.
I am very thrilled that they have decided to do this. I never got the chance to see him live. This is the only real way to hear the sound or to feel the music from the talented professionals that made it real.
I'm soo happy that u will be reuniting to play. I really hope you perform in the DMV somewhere. .I'll go wherever I can to see u all. my eyes filled with tears just thinking back to the many times I've seen u b4.
You guys are not forgotten, just gone. Glad to see all of you. Our loss is too great to be put into words sometimes, but over the last 30 years in certain social circles The Revolution is the band that set the standard. These are not fanboys or groupies but people that were influenced by your musical talent. Because of Prince, you were put into the lime light and your talent and skill created a whole new culture within itself. It never died, it simply transformed and the desire to see you guys perform is a constant in the hearts and minds of Prince and the Revolution fans.
Be still my fretless heart!!!! They're all such great musicians. I would easily buy their music anyday. BTW....my favorite "Prince & The Revolution" album would easily be..."Around the world a day".
Hope The REVOLUTION come's to Bakersfield California. I pay to go see them. They are the BEST EVER BAND that Played with PRINCE and is still the BEST!!!!!!! I'm Old School. May You Live To See The DAWN!!!!!!!
THANK YOU Wendy, Lisa, Mark, Bobby and Dr. Fink! Thank you all so much..What we needed so. We needed YOU!! We feel comforted by your thoughts of us and this video of empathy for us. Your message to us! Prince's "friends". We wish to comfort you too if there is any such magic that can bring comfort and peace or any sense to this tremendous, shattering loss and tragedy!!...Our Magic was our Purple one..Our Prince..Our comfort, our joy and our peace. We remain in shock! Know that we love you all. Please take care of yourselves for us and for you!! We need you!! Nothing compares 2 U!!!
please, please, PLEASE come to australia if it is at all possible! i would love to see you guys, and share this beautiful music w/my countrymen (and women, and whatever!)
My condolences to you all. I love Prince regardless of which band he worked with. I love the fact he seemed to bring out the best in you all and vice versa!
Movement, it moves a certain distance, then it stops, you see? A Revolution gets its name by always coming back around in your face...so welcome to the Revolution.
I love you wendy Lisa and all of the revolution so much. I love Prince Rogers Nelson very very much too. I whatch all of your and Prince Nelsons music videos and funniest moments 4ever purple rain 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
One year ago today ( ok well it's after midnight so technically yesterday ) we lost one of the greatest of all time . They ( The Revolution ) lost their brother. Even more than a brother. Having been in bands before, I know that what you go through with the others in the group will put you in a place where your band mates are actually closer to you than your own blood family. The blood, sweat and tears, the endless hours of practice, ideas being thrown around at 3 am in some small rehearsal space or coming from the back seat of the car you're all crammed in trying to make it home when you're so dead tired you can't focus but your body and brain are still running at 100mph. ... Prince did great things before, and after having The Revolution as his band, but Prince and The Revolution are what we grew up to, what we burned through at least 2 if not more cassettes in our car...We started dressing like the members of the band, we wanted to be them. I wonder if they had any clue just how much of a Revolution they would cause.. in music and in that one little low budget ( by other standards) movie they made? How much of an impact they would make on us by giving us music that we introduced our own children later to. I hope and I pray that the band realizes that we have been waiting patiently for a long long time to be able to see them again. Our hearts are broken right along with theirs. I can see , and hear, in my mind, a dark stage... the announcer saying " Please welcome........ The Revolution ! "
I truly am so HAPPY TO SEE YOU ALL! I have been so sad since the passing of Prince, I now can really smile! I Guarantee that I will see you guys out there. For info on possible Ohio dates please message me. Thank you all so very much for this announcement. Your FANS NEED YOU!!!! Brown Mark, after studying your Bass Playing very closely for the past few weeks, I feel that the Bass community owes you a Huge apology for not giving you the respect you deserve! You FN Thump! You all do. Dr., You Shred on the keys! Mr.Z, Todays music needs your drumming injected into it ASAP! Lisa, your sounds Texture, Touch, and Tone in my opinion should be considered the benchmark for the keyboards! And Wendy, You have always shown the world that YOUR GUITAR Playing was and still is a beautiful voice in those songs. Much Love To You All. And that's from my Heart!!!! KeepDuFunk.........
HI, guys this is Sandra from Louisiana, I meet some of you Prince myself and Brown Mark went to the same school, Prince and I was in the same class. Lisa you spoke to me in the ladies room in Lake Charles, just want to say Hi, to you guys.
I saw Prince in concert May 2015 in TORONTO, and songs such as lets go crazy, delerious and 1999 did not sound same without the revolution. Nevertheless Prince performed two back to back shows and it was amazing experience.
Prince was an amazing performer, a master songwriter, and a guitar virtuoso. But Prince & The Revolution was absolute, pure, unequaled magic.
I agree this was Prince's first group where he didn't have to do it all
I haven't cried, just been celebrating the musical genius. But Wendy is making me shed a tear. She looks so hurt :( 💜
Prince had ThirdEyeGirl, he had the New Power Generation, but none will compare to the Revolution.
+rockhero2274 My thoughts exactly. Loved NPG too, but the revolution was the one band I loved to see him play with.
+rockhero2274 agreed he had the best chemestry with the revolution
u r right. NPG were all phenomenal musicians with gospel chops, but wendy and lisa had a simplicity that complimented prince is a special way. Sometimes, Wendy and Lisa sang very straight beatlesque harmonies to go against princes powerful rnb chops making a great chemistry.

One year ago today ( ok well it's after midnight so technically yesterday ) we lost one of the greatest of all time . They ( The Revolution ) lost their brother. Even more than a brother. LOOKIN GOOD
HI, guys this is Sandra from Louisiana, I meet some of you Prince myself and Brown Mark went to the same school, Prince and I was in the same class.
Oh hell yeah!!!!! Best rock band ever.
