  • For the second night keynote of the 22nd Annual Pop Conference, hosted for first time at USC by the USC Thornton School of Music, PopCon welcomed award-winning Los Angeles-based musical composing duo Wendy Melvoin and Lisa Coleman. In this special conversation with Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture curatorial specialist Timothy Anne Burnside, Wendy & Lisa reflect on their ongoing musical careers - from starting as members of Prince & the Revolution to scoring feature films, television and collaborating on albums with Joni Mitchell, Sheryl Crow, Eric Clapton, Neil Finn, Seal, and Grace Jones to name a few. With a special focus on themes of legacy, loss, memory and the power of archives - this conversation traces their unique musical journey.
