Awesome video Andy! Even though this new model has been out for awhile nobody has done a video like this yet. WTF Suzuki "Pros"
No kidding! Come on guys. Suzuki shouldn't spend a dime with those guys and give it all to Andy. Nobody listens to "Fishing Pros" anymore and everyone knows it.
Just purchased 2023 250 SS in White, love it. To have options to use hot foot or throttle shift Handel game changer. Running a 2000 Triton TR 21 still breaking in but at 5000 RPM 68 MPH Great hole shot running scorpion 27
Do you have a jackplate? If so, how many inches set back and what is your prop to pad height? Thanks!
Good questions
@@eliteangler 10” BOBS PTP depends on where I set thee jack plate be honest just jack and trim to get max RPM
@@michaelmitchell5327 I appreciate it man!
Isn’t 5000 rpm a little low?
A 27 on a triton or a ranger 520 seems like a lot of prop for a fourstroke
Over the last 40 years I have owned almost every type of outboard. I currently own a 2019 Honda 90 . Fantastic engine, I own a 2021 50 hp Mercury.....a China made engine, I have replaced the lower unit and It runs great but......I'm on my second lower unit since 2021 ( I had a American made lower unit rebuilt for it). I also own a 2022 25 hp Suzuki. Love this engine ! I have ran this engine a lot over the last year, It's the best value 25 on the market !
Great looking engine! Local dealer has a demo ride program close to me tomorrow with Brandon Card, BASS pro running a Zook 250 on a Caymas. I hope to get there and check it out first hand. I have spoken to Brandon before about how good those engines look, and he tell me they perform just as well as they look! Thanks for posting this Andy!
Let us know how it goes Tim!
Except for that heavy assed cowl I think Zuki has hit a home run with this motor.
Absolutely love my 2022 suzuki df25! 100hr service was done in less then 1 hour. Not a single issue yet. Any boat in my future will have a suzuki on the back 100%
Are u running factory aluminum prop or stainless?
Really liking how they simplified most of the servicing and moving parts! You dont have to remove pans to do oil changes also. Its not hard to do but nice if you dont have too. Loving the good (deustch) plugs as well.
TEAM MARINE please keep me updated on prop for that 521vx exactly what I have and my SS will be here next week. Would love to see a river test for that motor and boat!!!
Will do!
This new SS is 🔥🔥🔥
That thing looks tough!!! 💪🏻
Great vid!! Can’t wait to see the on the water testing to know the difference before I potentially pull the trigger!! Speed, Money, No Brakes!!
Love the videos. Helps out a lot with us in remote villages where shipping is expensive. Thank you for from Kotzebue, Alaska
You are welcome! 🇺🇸
Is the new Ss available in 200hp?
Any info on the new suzuki props? Would love to see a comparison on the same boat.
After speaking with my boys down on the Gulf, they all run Suzuki on their multi-engine 30+ sport fishing boats and love them. Most of my buddies have been running Suzuki for years. I'm about to purchase a BC Puma STS and, b/ of such input am going to run Suzuki. Thanks
What do y'all think?
I have one and it's great. Powerful hull shot and very quiet and efficient
@@shark_bones how quiet? Compared to a yamadog or merc 250?
I need one ASAP for my stratos 201 haha
I really like the new look it looks great
If I could afford a new boat, it's what I'd get but just don't have an extra 150k laying around.🤷♂️
I've never even seen a Suzuki outboard on a bass boat in my area of the country ( Pennsylvania) let alone having access to a supporting dealer
Wow that's surprising Dan. Is that Merc or Yamaha country over there?
Very rare by me too. Plenty on pontoons. I'm in a bass club with over 60 boats and I'm the only one.
@@TeamMarineService Mainly Mercs with a good smattering of Yamahas
My Falcon F21 Predator was ordered with the Suzuki 250SS. Love it with the color combo of my boat, “cement”. Still trying to work out the proping and jackplate height. Ordered with 26 scorpion. I sent you a donation with my questions several weeks ago. Keep the video’s coming on this engine and setup combinations.
I just purchased the DF 300APX
Just had 20 hours service completed.
I repowered from Evinrude 250HO G2
Wow!
Suzuki is the best.
I'm matching rpm to mph.
Marvin
Big M's Fishing Charters LLC
In my opinion, the latches should opens toward the front. Less chance of them catching air and popping open.
You'd have to be going 200mph to pop those latches. Probably a couple Allison guys have had this issue I'm sure, just ask them! 🤣🤣🤣
I love my 2023 Suzuki ss digital motor and I also am running the digital hotfoot I run it on a 2000 triton tr21 with a 27p scorpion my motor is in white
Awesome Christopher!!! What MPH are ya running and are you running just the digital gauge?
@@TeamMarineService yes just the digital gauge from there we NMEA to the garmins. 68 at 5300rpm still breaking it in.
I'm definitely a merc guy, but this has to be one of the nicest looking outboards ive ever seen.
Couldn't agree more!
I've seen alot of birds nesting in that air induction cavity on many Suzuki outboards on lifts around my lake.🐦
Wait for the eagles to start nesting in this one. Lol
I’ve always had a Merc on my bass boats but I really like the look and finish of that Suzuki. Really nice. I see a lot of Suzuki’s on the salt water boats here in Florida. They must be reliable, just guessing.
Nice! I would like the ability to check the oil level without removing the cover... is there a digital readout for this?
Hands down the best looking outboard out there! Can't wait for you guys to get her out on the water
Why do these motor never have a typically air cleaner, like a car? Just curious. Great video what a motor
Not much dust on the water
@@jonwarwick1017 I disagree around here there is so much dust blowing from the fields and such, I always wondered why no air filters. Thanks for the feedback
looks good, when the test drive?
I absolutely LOVE my 2022 Zuke 300- digital.
Hoping they bring some of this goodness down into the 1.5L engines
115SS. Vs. 115SHO 🙏
Love this. Question: are they still having compatibility issues? Would one fit on a 98 TR20?
If you ditch your analog gauges and go digital you will be fine
I have a lot of experience with the 250 & 300 Suzuki motors down int South Louisiana (oilfield). They are great outboards.
For a complete repower what is a rough additional cost for the rigging parts needed?
I'll look it up and get back to ya Stephen
Awesome video would love to see more on the 90s
What's the labor to switch out a 225 older to a 250 pro sx dig with peddle, screen, active trim, dig throttle. Thanks 2006 triton 21' with mod the dash
Hey bro, I have a new rib boat 32 feat..I'm wondering if it's possible to put 2 suzuki 250 ss or 2 suzuki kuro..
Thank you in advance
I think I have a hybrid lol, mine has the new lower but the old cowling and stuff have you seen this?
Can you do a video of 18-20’ boats for the beginner fisherman late 80s-early 90s boats that are cheaper and make great boats for the beginner/recent college grads that don’t have 15,000 to spend on a boat?
Guess no cable driven ones coming in yet?? Don’t forget about me here in ky. Still waiting.
Have you done a video talking about Garmin, Lowrance and Humminbird graphs? Which is better?
Not yet
@@TeamMarineService please do it!
Got mine last Tuesday. Love it ! Throttle response is crazy !! Only thing, they were not able to get my blinker style trim lever to tie into it. Playing with props as we speak
AWESOME!!! What gauges are ya running?
The dealer that put mine on hooked up my blinker trim switch
@@TeamMarineService the SMG 4 multi function gauge and hooked to my Garmin
@@michaelmitchell5327 if anyone could let me know how to hook up the blinker trim id appreciate it 👍👍
I’m running single Suzuki gauge and NMEA to Garmin 12
Would look really good on a Phoenix 20PHX....
Someone got a awesome set up
For sure!
Wouldn't mind having one of those in white on the back of my deep-V, very nice outboard!
this is nothing but the new block architecture of the 300ap that's been in production for over 10 years . This is a detuned 300ap SPC engine with a 20 inch midsection and a few small changes . The question is can you stick a 300 ecu on it 😮
They might have the greatest outboards in the world but it doesn’t mean Jack if you can’t get them. I was trying to find a 30hp tiller which is just about impossible and nobody seems to have a clue when they might be available.
Looks like they borrowed alot of stuff from old mercs, two piece lower, hood latches, fuel pump looks similar to the xs and old efi's, lower intake ports in lower unit. I wonder how many ideas there paying on from mercury?
Oh for sure, truth is Mercury got a lot of it right.
I am ready to put one my FX 21 Skeeter 👍👍👍
If you run in and super skinny water like California delta with all those sandy bars with those lower pick ups any concerns about what you’re going to pick up in shallow water
We will be putting it through the upper Mississippi gauntlet soon. We will see how those lower screens work. We anticipate having to unplug to upper ones too
I think Suzuki will start getting traction in the bass boat market moving forward. It will be my next engine in the next few years. Hopefully I can find a dealer that isn’t a few hundred miles away.
What is weight? What is cost " from scratch" vs Yamaha or Merc? I have a champion i have done a cap off resto on. No controls. Not a single wire in the boat. Im considering all 3 brands, will come down to cost of not only engine, but controls and harnesses. I imagine Merc wins but not sure.
Great video guy's
Thanks 👍
Andy I can't believe you aren't going on more about the elimination of the water tight rubber bulkhead bung !!!!😮
Adrian avena doesn’t seem to have any issues with his . Or atleast you don’t hear about them . And Suzuki just won a major event so that is a plus for Suzuki .
I'm getting one!
I have a 2020 Suzuki DF 90a. It has the pull out and turn knobs, can those be changed over to the ones that are on the 250ss??
Doubt it but I can check
@@TeamMarineService ok. Check for me plz and let me know. Thanks Andy. Thanks guys. 👍
Best looking motor made. Period.
😂 sets the cowling down on the concrete floor 😢 that paint edge is done 😅 FYI the 300 ap and new ss 250s retain the cowling gasket on the engine so you need to set on something that won't destroy and chip the sharp painted edges of the lid bro .
Do you see any issue hanging one on the back of a Ranger Z21? Its quite a bit heavier than the Optimax.
Beautiful motor!! Would love to see/hear it perform. Better than Mercury and Yamaha??? We'll see
Looks bad ass!! Will they make a 350ss in that same color combo??
Does this mean we may be seeing more Champion videos soon???
One question didn’t evinrude have a bunch of the fly by wire on g2? How did that work out? Not bashing just curious
Very nice I need one
Can you please let me know what company make the digital hot foot on this video. I’m in process of ordering this new Suzuki and want that hotfoot.
Thank tou
Suzuki really looks good, but with all the added digital content, where is price point installed. Question I'm concerned with is some backwash getting in air intake and with dipstick down low possible moisture getting in. Nice hotfoot but have to buy Suzuki exclusively.
I realized you want to do the rigging on something other than a Ranger LOL.
...Yes!
What can one expect to spend on a 250SS including pro rigging?
Your 401K
Which do you prefer this motor or the new yahama sho?
suzuki
I want one! Great looking motor.
Suzuki has always made great outboards engines those old 2 stroke Suzuki outboards. Where some of the best and plenty of guys still use them for dingy racing. If I only could afford a boat lmaooo and that outboard but. I love to hear and talk about engines so that's gonna have to do for now.
I think that motor would look badass on my boat! How much with full rigging?
What’s the warranty on a new Suzuki?
Test drive? Has Vision boat engines finally going to give us a 250mph electric equivalent?
I am thinking of re-power with eather a Yamaha 175 VMAX SHO or the Suzuki 175SS both are a little bit lighter than my Yamaha 150 proV! What is the better motor? Both outboards r around the same price here in VA! I don’t know witch 1 is better
Looks like changing the oil would be a mess when taking off the oil filter.
Gear ratio options ?
Low water pick up option ?
How does this motor to compare with merc or yami?
What is gear case ratio?
Is the other boat the GAMBLER? 🤔 I’ve been wondering what was happening with that lol.
1:26 - Jesus that is big enough to serve as an owl nest
They are sure letting her breathe!
How’s she look in the 300?
What prop do you think you would run on that motor on that ranger?
Hey Andy I’m running a DF200ATLRSS4 on a 2006 Bass Cat Pantera Classic. I’m currently getting 5900-6000 RPM (I believe red line is 6100 RPM) at WOT and running 63 mph top end. My holeshot however is not that great. I have a Fury 4 24P on the boat currently and with just me and tournament load, full gas, and full live wells the holeshot is fine about 5.5-7 seconds. Add another person and it takes 9-11 seconds. I have a bob’s hydraulic 6” extreme and am starting it all the way up trimmed down and lowering it as it starts to break over on plane. The only other thing I’ve noticed is it seems to ramp up slow and as the bow starts to break over it revs from 2500-4000 very fast. Any help would be great whether you think it’s a propping problem or a setup problem. Other than that I absolutely love the motor and don’t see myself owning any other motor brand for the foreseeable future!
Start with a 27p Solas Scorpion. These Suzuki need big wheels
I’m running a 2006 Bass Cat Puma with an Etec 250 and I had same problem so I put a 27 pitch 4 blade and it helped tremendously. BCS needs big props
Will that thing go on my Bass Tracker?
Looks great, my questions is does sazuki approve a lithium battery for a cranking battery? Also can it be tuned to get extra power like the Yamahas? Thanks keep up the great content
I was told they do not recommend lithiums
Idk about this motor but all the others are a hard no if you want to use your warranty ever.
Do a prop video for the 200!
Good looking motor
When does the 225SS come out?
Do you think they will ever make a 225 SS?
I wouldn't get my hopes up. :(
All aluminum is great for a lake boat, not so much for salt water.. hmmm.
I need one
Any chance 25 inch models available?
What prop did Andy Morgan End up running
Mercusier or Volvo Pants who's better
What prop are you putting on it?
250SS DTS going on the Champion 203???
I want one 😫
Is it lawrance nema only or can I used a garmin?
What is the wait time to get that engine?
Can you run this on a hummingbird units?
