Im a new subscriber to the chennel. I love the videos. Im from south Louisiana and have a 2005 Nauticstar bay boat with a 140 Suzuki. I will say this; that is a very reliable motor. I do regular maintenance on it every year and it just continue to run.
2004 df200 3000+ hrs commercial fishing. It sank once in salt water and it's still running today as a tender on lake winni. You couldn't pay me to run another outboard!

I owned a 250SS. Great outboard. Never had a days problems. Bought a 250SHO and had it on the same hull. The SHO is substantially more powerfull and also lighter on fuel.
Can you do a video on some of the midrange offerings from the big outboard brands? You’ve touched on it a couple times in different videos, but I’d like to hear your thoughts on the 90-175hp motors, especially with their growing popularity. Thanks!
Another great vid... GREAT to see Adrian do a sit in and talk real talk running the Zuk... only got 15 hrs on my 250SS so far, but loving it already! I went with the 4 blade 14.5x29P prop and so far seeing 6000 rpms at 66.5 mph as best numbers. I have not tried raising motor yet, which is next as I think it's a little low, but need a buddy in boat to see if cav plate is sitting right at WOT. Andy, tried to find info on the 3 blade Scorpion prop... I got an 06 Skeeter 20i... use to run T1-25P on my old HPDI... what Scorp should I look for? Sounds like the Scorp is the way to go... Would have loved a more technical rundown comparing it to the Yamaha SHO. Like the oil bath timing chain vs. nylon timing belt in the Yamaha. Maybe in a future video?
Reliability means the mostest when your check depends on it. Even more so for the average guy that wants to fish with what little free time they have. ESPECIALLY when you consider the cost of a new rig.

Don't know if this means anything but I know my 1994 Mercury 200 EFI is still running, that's 27 years. I sold the boat in 1998 and the guy who bought it repowered it with a 2017 200 Optimax and my dealer took that 200 EFI on his Gambler Outlaw
love my 25hp Suzuki on my 16 foot Lowe. I plan on getting a 209wt coastal vokey next yr, a local fiberglass brand, I was looking at either the 200ss or 200ap, not sure which one to get!

I have a 140 Suzuki on my bay boat bought new in 2005. Its fished in salt and brackish water mostly. I still run this motor today. Very dependable motor. Never been in the shop except to repair a broken shaft when I smacked something underwater.
The durability is great the issue we have is we put a 175hp on a 18ft triton and it struggles to run 60mph with a 27p prop because of the 2.50 gear ratio. Is there a gear set that can be swapped for the 175hp to get more top end

I have a phoenix 721 with a new suzuki 250. 2 stroke pro xs blew up with less that 250hrs. Having a hard time finding a prop. Right now I have a 25p 3 blade, what’s the best prop size for a 721?

The pros have enough confidence to travel all over the US without a dedicated support trailer and if they have the confidence to do that well that's enough for us. Suzuki's network is only going to further expand.

i am running the solas series 3 on my mariner 200 efi. the very first thing that i noticed is there is no slip in this prop. running a 23 p, at 5600 rpm, the gps is 67.8 mph. do the math, and there is no slip, and that translates to fuel economy.
Have they released the new motor yet? Will it be a 250 hp? I am frustrated with my 2018 mercury 250 pro xs 2 stroke. I have a 2018 pheonix 721 and have already blown two powerheads under casual once a week fishing and 1 tournament a month. I've had my boat at a repair center since Feb 8th and mercury has not sent the parts and powerhead. I called Mercury yesterday and they claim they are back ordered on crankshafts since 2020. Super frustrated. I have no confidence in mercury and feel let down. I'm interested in Suzuki. I want reliability. Tired of getting stranded. I run the merc dfi oil and routine maintenance and it keeps blowing up! Its been the #6 piston both times. They state injector failure for the cause. Nothing more frustrating than buying a brand new boat and less than one year having a blown engine. More depressing is the replacement lasting 2 yrs 2 months before it decided to blow up

Been to 3 shops. They all said Suzuki for durability. They also said it’s the only brand with hardly any recalls or problems. I’m sold

I have a BW Dauntless 16 that I want to repower and would love a Suzuki 115 but they are so much heavier than Merc or Yamaha.

Yeah she could be getting wore out! Go check out the numbers of the Suzuki 150 SS compared to the Suzuki 175. Regardless you'll be touching 60

Great Question Matthew!!! Most boat manufacturers have deals worked out with either Yamaha or Mercury but things are starting to change.
