Thanks! Yes, with a normal drawbar hitch the M is much more useful. And the 3 point works well too. The lift arms are for a Ford 8N. Super cheap in price but they work great here.
The tractor just came with 2 lights. But but one of them is clearly home made. It's just a bent piece of 3/8" flat bar. Not sure how they came from the factory.
Could you make a better video of just the headlight brackets? My M does not have any, it's wired for lights so I'd like to add some. Ive seen the two bracket pieces online but I'd like to see how they attach. Thanks
The ignition wiring is very simple. The positive lead goes to the starter, negative to the coil. Check that the capacitor on the back of the switch is viable and that is in he wire path. I had the same issue and it turned out to be the wiring. You should be an le to do all this yourself.
I have a question I'm fixing to buy a 1948 johndeere m I need to know how do you put the center link on a m with the second pto that has the round pulley on it I'm wanting to convert it to a three point hitch if you can help me please message me
I took the belt pulley off and used those 4 bolt holes to attach the center link point for the 3 point hitch. I knew I wasn't ever going to use the belt pulley, so it wasn't a big deal to take it off. But if you want to try to keep the belt pulley AND upgrade the 3 point hitch it might be tricky. If, for some reason, I ever wanted to put the belt pulley back on, it's just 4 quick bolts to swap the center point bracket and the belt pulley.
@@jonelsonster can you still put the center link on it if you leave the belt pulley on it I mean you still. Got that pto leaves there won't there be a hole where that other it pto was
Well pretty much all there is to check is spark and compression... could be a bad carb too but you can get around that by directly applying some fuel. Compression on a gas engine isn't as big of a deal as on a diesel so... probably not getting a spark for some reason.

I just bought a 1948 m and I'm having problems getting it started new battery and coil still it will spin over but itcwont fire
