If you asked Rick Harrison if this was a restoration he would say you took off the patina but if you tried to pawn it as is he would say it's just a rusty piece of metal.
Man I find it hard to agree that the first blade was "restored" as much as it was transformed. Honestly I feel the initial blade design was nice and could have just done with a simple disassembly, cleaning, polishing, and re wrapping of the handle but I realize that's just up to personal preference. The bread knife though was very nicely done.
Вообще не понял задумку первого ножа? Одни вопросы. 1. Зачем ослабил основание клинка и рукоять? Фултанги очень прочны. 2. Зачем уничтожил баланс? Толщина металла на рукояти и противовес на её конце для баланса. 3. Подскажите для непонятливых, что это за вырез на конце клинка? Какой его функционал? Ну то, что это был нож, а стал кухонный секатор - это понятно. Теперь колющий рез вообще отсутствует. Этот вырез на конце клинка - это 100%-ный стопор, чтобы не пробить вообще ничего. Этот нож сломается при нарезке хлеба. Я не тролль, но то что я увидел - откровенный бред. Сорри.

It's very dangerous to wear gloves when working with a drill press. The machine won't stop if the drill bit grips the glove, and then you are 9-finger-joe. Just wanted you to know. But anyway a beautiful knife.
@@donaldwirtz4731 I guess I'm just more confident in a through tang construction, and the more tang, the more area to disperse stress and impact. I just wouldn't have immediately have removed that much tang. One can always remove , but putting material back, that's a real pain.
You took the real artist design and destroyed it to make your own out of his design you don't think you really made an art piece did you you got to give the credit to the original owner of the night

Why did you cut the tang?
I also hate perpendicular cuts on tang. I believe you should've rounded this spots to avoid weakening the knife.
I agree. That cut severely weakened the tang, reducing the 'knife' to a useless play toy.
I'm glad I wasn't the only one annoyed by this. He also may have ruined the heat treating by chopping with that angle grinder.

I watch a lot of these kinds of videos, from lots of different channels. And 99.9% of the time they cut the tang to being pencil thin.......why?
