I've seen lots of left over steel cut in your video , wouldn't you mind if in next video you make a stuff from those left over steel pieces??? & Yes plz make a carbon steel , i never seen a video on RUclips blacksmith melting & forge a real carbon steel 😘😘😘😘😘

Man I've watched a ton of knife making videos... this piece is my favorite. I love everything about it... the forging process, the style and design, the shape, and the colors in the materials. Not to mention that amazing sheath. Major respect to you, not only for the amazing work you did here, but also for showing people the ancient process of making Wootz Steel.
Сегодня кузнечный праздник какой-то - сначала Shurap выкладывает видео про нож и метеоритной стали и следом за ним FZ Knives булатный нож из бит для шуруповерта - круто!!!
I really appreciate the fact that you took the time to clean all the scale and impurities away before continuing to work the steel. I see so many people beat the cold slag back into the steel during the process without cleaning it away from the anvil or power hammer surfaces.
It's going to take me a minute to get my jaw off the floor. Every aspect of this knife, the blade, the way it holds its edge, the sheath/scabbard, is absolute perfection. Amazing work, sir.
I have seen a lot of knives made on tv and youtube over the years. This is probably the best one yet. Perfect design and well executed. Beautiful work.
That wootz you make is beautiful, there’s so many different pattern welded steels, everyone and their brother makes it nowadays, that crucible steel you make is just perfect.
Good job. You did the process right instead of calling someone random nonsense Wootz Damascus like so many other channels do. I'm sick and tired of after the research I did to find out what Wootz Damascus is seeing people call random pattern welded steel wootz. I appreciate it.
Man as soon as you ground that piece down you can tell that was solid quality steel you had made! So much more entertaining to watch blades forged in this fashion. It exhibits way more skill and craftsmanship! Thumbs up for sure!
Another beautiful knife; however, this one is extra special. The color of the forged wootz steel and handle design make it fantastic. What a very epic blade. Congratulations on a gorgeous blade. 👍
I’m a Damascus steel nut. I must have 50 knives made of it, but not one wootz steel knife yet. The sheath you made for this knife is especially❤️ beautiful. Great work, best of luck 🍀to you and yours
It’s not wootz it’s Damascus the only real wootz steel blades are in museums the art of making wootz steel is lost the only people who could actually make it died around 1,200 a.d this is just a case forged Damascus some drill bits melted down within a piece of tube steel then grinder down to the goodies inside or he cut it away from the melted goods inside then forged it into a knife not wootz the pattern has to come from ore raw ore smelted down and forged out not folding it or melting drill bits down in a vessel then prying it away and banging a knife out wootz is lost to time a craft that may never be resurrected because we simply don’t know how ore what they mixed with the ore to make it........no one can make wootz steel
Great work really. The only aspect I see space for improvement is the handle and blade union, the stress concetrates there at the corner and, therefore, we should make a round corner instead of straight. Stress concentrates there upon impact and may lead to cracks.
Damn, you did one hell of a job and every part of it just looks amazing. Everything about it just goes together so nice. Awesome that you made that from old bits. Would have liked to see how you got the knife out of the case after sealing it in, because it couldn't just be pulled out, right? It looked like the curves woulda prevented it from being pulled out, without extra steps to free it... Awesome job on this knife and the case- they look great!
WOOTz! WOOTz! Saw and replied :) (I know that was a dad-joke level of corny). First time seeing/hearing of that technique and i love it. Made my first knife about a year ago, and had always wondered how they made form fitting plastic or carbon fiber sheathes.. (i tried to soften then smush a section of pvc pipe around the knife- didn't work very good, looked awful, barely did the job- threw it out.)
What were the other ingredients did you put in the melting pot with the screwdriver bits? One of them looked like broken glass and another appeared to be powdered steel. 15N20? Was the other additional nickel? Please do tell in description or video in any more wootz steel videos. Amazing work and craftsmanship. 2nd to none.
Amazing piece of work and I love that sheath. One question, at the tang/blade junction the cuts are at 90 degree angles. Are you not worried about creating 'stress risers' which could lead to a break at the tang junction?
@@smiggypaul Although it seems in the video simply, I think do something like this is much more complicated and requires a lot more experience and skill then pattern welded steel.
I am making knives, tomahawks, and all kinds of blades too. And after all works like these, some people asking to buy one. Honestly for me, it is easier to give one as a gift, than tell them a real price of my material, energy and time spent while making them. Good job, buddy.
Thank you all for watching the video. Do not forget to comment and subscribe to the channel. If you liked share the video with your friends.
Do you sell your knives online at all? Or is everything custom order?
I want to buy this knife 😁

These knives are amazing. This particular design really stands out but your process and attention to detail is what makes it special. Nice work!!

i dont know why people like pattern welded steel when this way looks so much better

Surely better than simple pattern welded steel, but complex mosaic damascus is another story, like the one Ilya made for his new sword
