Wootz steel from Grover washers . Making a small CARBON TANTO
Thank you all for watching. Write in the comments which knife you want us to make ...
Do you live in USA 🇺🇸 or another country…if in the USA 🇺🇸 I would like you to make one hunting for me I will carry with me to hunt, cutting wood 🪵 to make ⛺️ please let me know…Thank you.
Kiridashi, or a trench knife would be cool!
were you worried about the zinc coating on the washers interfering with the smelt
My dad has a very cool knife that I have always admired, it’s a 1966 Puma Hunting Skinning Knife made in Solingen Germany with Sambar Stag Scales . That would be an amazing knife made by your hands.
@@josephwaldner7752 ...ждём ответа...Спасибо!
That's another gorgeous tanto
You make some of the best looking knives
Thanks
Artist, Professional, and Creative =FZ
You holding the pointer and hammering with the same hand..WOWW!! ☝😅
Grazie per i tuoi video. Sono una grande ispirazione. Sei un grande artigiano e artista.
First: Where in the world did you learn your craft? Your skills and end products are amazing!
Second: How long have you been at your craft? The instruments you create are absolutely amazing!
It's not blue but still very enjoyable video. I think it'd be helpful to put text in the video of when you pour those powder before melting the washers. I have no experience in forging metal so I have have no idea what those powder are/do.
Well, if you look up "Wootz Steel" you'll see that it's probably charcoal and quartz. But everyone has their own ingredients and no two are the same.
@@Stroke2Handed the quartzy looking stuff on top is glass, it melts on top and seals the materials so when the melt, impurities don't get into the puck. I'm sure I'll be corrected if wrong.
Beautiful work of art👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks
I'm hooked and can't stop watching your videos now. This has got to be one of my favourites so far. Absolutely incredible work.
Thanks
What a great pattern!
Sehr schön gemacht.
Ukrainische Handwerkskunst ist die beste!
Thanks 😊👍
Woww this piece is AWESOME!! Too..

Il est petit, mais il est magnifique ! Super travail.

Beautiful❤️ blade, stunning ❤️carbon fiber grips and a gorgeous❤️ sheath. I’m afraid to ask for a price, my wife would kill me if I got another knife. 😳 She supports my knife collection, but sometimes I go a little crazy. I still haven’t got a wootz steel blade knife yet. I’ll drop hints for a Christmas gift😉
Thank you for sharing the video post and best of luck ❤️🍀👍🏼

You build a beautiful knife. Bravo.
Thank you
Your knives are amazing. I’ve been binging the channel as of late and everything you make is astounding. I recently watched a video about wootz Damascus and I now understand why the glass is used. Very cool. Keep up the great work!
Forgot to add…do you do any or how many thermocycles do you do before you start the forging process?
Thank you. Five thermal cycles.

Нож классный! А есть такой, только для взрослых?)))
Прекрасный нож на каждый день. Лайк автору!
Can you make the pattern continous and not break? Like the old wootz swords.
I think you do a terrific job, but I'd like to give you a few tips if you don't mind? I see your quench oil container is actually bigger than most I've seen (good job) but don't forget to pre-heat your quench oil a bit. Try and get the biggest quench tank as feasible. I'm a heat treater and our oil is approx. 120*F . Try to agitate your oil somehow. Introducing pressurized Nitrogen gas would be a great way but probably not realistic. Or aggressively agitate it mechanically with a small pump or an impeller of some kind. (We use pedestal sump pumps) Always try to keep the hot steel submerged until it either stops smoking or you can touch it by hand. And always plunge the blade in the oil as vertically as possible. Always keep the blade moving!!! Up and down like your ice fishing. But always keep it submerged. A deeper quench oil tank would be beneficial to completely submerge and move the part vertically. Just food for thought. Like I said you do a great job! And heat treating is a much more important step than most people realize to produce a quality part.
Thanks for the advice.
Very classic design friend Wow ! !

Do you think you could take scrap steel from previous projects to make a knife or at lease combine materials from previous knives
It's a wittle one but so nice and shiny👌🍻😸

Another beautiful knife FZ. I would love to see your take on a double edge dagger.

I would like you make a ka bar knife, the handle can be your way 👍🏻
Красивый нож
Çok gözel bir pıçak.
Apparently Grover washers are made of galvanized iron. That explains why you didn’t add any iron to the crucible
