We have to keep on our mind that each video on this channel It isn't about a knife or a bladesmith, it's a record of a work of one artist and here we have another jewel from this mastersmith!!!
First of all, another masterpiece, the knife, and the bread too. ❤❤❤❤❤. Hope everything fine with you and your family. Big hug, from Portugal, Madeira Island.
Love how effortless you make producing a Wootz ingot look, especially after seeing many Y'Tubers struggle, also the pattern looked great! There's several things I've noticed in the difference between Wootz Damascus and the pattern forged steel everyone is calling Damascus these days. First and most visible is the scale flakes falling off, with the pattern forge steel, the flakes are huge and come off in chunks with every press making a huge mess, though the Wootz the flakes are tiny and fewer of them with each press. Second is the sound, hard to describe, but Wootz steel sounds a lot more solid than pattern forged, it's most noticeable when striking the steels on the anvil. Last being their hardness, when I watch the two steels being squashed down by the presses, it looks to take more pressure to push down the Wootz than pattern forged does. Whilst I really like all the various controlled patterns than pattern forging can produce, I much prefer the chaotic pattern of Wootz, there's something just so charming about it!
This is NOT wootz. He is knowingly misleading viewers. I report every video that has the word wootz in the title. There are maybe fife people in the world who are struggling to find the exact way how the original wootz damast has been made and they still are not quite there yet. I am a knife and sword maker myself. This guy claims to make wootz for fiews
What is the little bar you used after setting the bevels, the one where you added paste and polished? Is this a tool you made, or is it some sort of fine file for polishing? I can't find one ANYWHERE and think this would work better than my current sandpaper on a bar method. Although, I could not make out whether or not you used sandpaper on it, but it appears not.
I always seen this in your vids but never understood it, what purpose does the broken glass serve? Is it to limit oxidation since it floats or something else?
just look at that crystalline molecular grain structure on show just amazing. this is the only damascus being done on youtube. everyone else is doing rubbish patturn welding.
😢 hearing the siren in the background, I wish you and yours to take care of yourselves, and someday, I hope to see a wootz knife made from a piece of russian tank barrel.
Why are you not sealing the crucible lid to prevent ingress of oxygen? The silica will melt first and sink to the bottom, only being pushed up and forming the cap once the rest of the charge melts. What percentage of chromium and vanadium is in your mix? Also, how many heat and soak cycles do you do. I saw only one.

@@ZuTez2023 Вы, явно с каким-то другим государством спутали нашу РФ (пишется с большой буквы, двоечник). Вы же за всё "хорошее" и против всего "плохого". Подождите немного, и вы в этом убедитесь лично.
First can I say this is an absolutely stunning knife but all the videos I wonder what are the powders you put in and is there a specific quantity of these, also how long does your crucible stay in the furnace? Best wishes from here in the UK.
Iron powder and graphite powder (I imagine Mr FZ will confirm). Mr FZ continues to be a great bloke (and educator) with the information in the videos. If you look to past videos, he shares a lot of the process, including crucible mixes and molding. Awesome of him to do that. Much RESPECT! The information regards fullering (and plates used on the press) is also very generous.

That was a beautiful mini deba you created. I love the final form of the Wootz steel. Congrats another great finish.
What a gorgeous piece. The activity in the pattern of the blade is awesome. Thanks again for taking us along!
Thanks
Air raid sirens sounded ominous….
God bless you and your family.
Stay safe.
Thanks 🤝
thanks for posting, another masterpiece from a master craftsman 👍
Thanks 👍
Great job, very beautiful and functional.
You should make a folding pocket knife. It's cool to see new and functional folding knifes, plus it might be a fun challenge.
I like how the rain sounded like applause when he showed the etching on the blade very beautiful work of art sir you are a master at your craft
Серена на 14:20, та батон з Сільпо - зняли усі питання))
Браво, маестро. Фантастична робота!

Дуже смачно вийшло, як і сам процес !!!
Best wootz pattern yet. And the bread looks delicious too!

I'd like to see wootz steel with multiple layers with 1095 and 15n20 steel in Turkish Twist pattern
Very nice knife!
Thanks 👍
Honest question: why do you sand the wootz steel before forging?
So no one's going to comment about the alarms going at the end of the other than that really good work.
So, this knife was made mainly out of metal powder?
just look at that crystalline molecular grain structure on show just amazing. this is the only damascus being done on youtube. everyone else is doing rubbish patturn welding.

What are your crucibles made of?
Sorry about the air raid sirens :(
What are the powders you add? Do you have a class for how you make the wootz?

You quench before you grind the bevels - does that make it stronger?
I'd love to see your interpretation of a Highland Dirk
Hey, how do you even make these crucibles? They look homemade and they seem to take a serious heat without failing!
What does the glass do ? And would sand do the same thing considering glass is made from melted sand ?

Does anyone know what the crystal looking stuff is that he put in at the end
When filling the crucible? It's broken glass.
