Great review. Agree on the preference, the double flame isn't as good and no cover for the burners is quite a sacrifice. One thing to mention though, the xxtreme has bigger bumpers that protrude out so technically it can take a fall better than the original....but it'll probably also be harder to remove from you pocket.

Hey there. I don't believe it's possible to swap the black plastic shield. ST Dupont has service center where they repair/deal with warranty fixes, but I doubt they'd accommodate this kind of request. I'm guessing they'd prefer you buy a brand new one if you're looking for a different color/new shield.

I have the same matte black Extreme but it produces a small flame. I have another Extreme and I get a much better flame like you do in the video. I'm using the ST Dupont red can gas for both. Any ideas? The matte black is brand new so unsure if it just needs time to be broken in.
Hi Tony, If the flame doesn't adjust properly and it's brand new, I would consider getting it exchanged as it might be faulty.

It's not a custom as it was purchased directly from ST Dupont, but it was a special edition. I can't seem to find it anywhere online now.

Why two flames? For what purpose? It will only use gas faster.
Additional jets allow you to light bigger cigars faster, basically.
