Did you really add water to your oil oh please give this boat to me an I will keep you on as my first mate an I will be your captain 😉🙂😉 so beautiful 😘
It was lovely seeing Claydon Top Lock again. My Uncle moved in there when it was almost derelict and did a lot of work making it habitable and generally sorting it out. He tragically died before finishing, but his partner carried on. He was very happy living & working there. The cottage has a huge forge inside the kitchen/living room as it used to be the canal's blacksmith. The other buildings have stables, workshop and allsorts there.
After watching a few years of narrowboat vlogs, I will make it a plan when i retire in 2 years to rent a boat every sommer. Thanks for the video and happy cruising May. ⛵😀👍
Another Great Vlog May. Seemed like a relatively peaceful trip. Hearing the birds singing in the background and seeing your boat on the water in such beautiful natural environment, gives you a really good feeling. Loved the lock and boat manoeuvring, mooring etc training, passing on your experience Thank You for Sharing
Hi May, Another nice vlog, enjoying a day in the life on the channel with nice people. Summer is not really summer yet with sometimes a beautiful sunny day.
You and that boat have had some adventures and made some memories. Of course you got sunburnt as a child, we cared nothing about things like that as children. Being fair of hair and complxion you burn more easily than many of us. Like all your "May on the move" type videos this was very relaxing
Hi may. Live on the cut for 36 years, then moved to Cornwall. We live in a lovely place but miss the boat life so much. Are you planning to come back to the cut. If any body is thinking ov taking the plunge just do it. Many thanks. Paul
Hey May, I appreciate what you were saying about getting sun burnt. Some 55 years ago my back got burnt to the point of blisters. To this day I still can't stand hot water on my back. By the way get into the habit of wearing that cool hat so that you keep the sun off the back of your neck otherwise you could experience sun stroke. When you do find a new owner for your "boat with no name", give some thought to having a good bye party and include "boat with no name". You might find the grief of leaving her a bit easier. You might also want to revisit Kublar-Ross and her work around grief. See you next week Mark Alberta, Canada
The paint job looks great May! FYI…I think WhiteSpotPirate may be looking for a change of pace and considering a narrowboat. That black epaulette jacket of yours makes you look a bit like a naval commander. 😀🇬🇧😀. Wow, those kayakers are really moving! No worries May…my boat almost ended up in the middle of the lake because I left it in reverse gear when docking.
04:30 Is it okay to put tap water in coolant? Ideally, this would be distilled water. You can also use bottled water or tap water. Bear in mind that tap water or bore water contains minerals that can leave deposits throughout your cooling system, contributing to corrosion which will reduce the lifespan of the radiator and other components in the cooling system
Moving along heading towards a new adventure making memories along the way, that will last a lifetime. To borrow from John Lennon - Every day in every way its getting better and better
Love your videos. You are good at filmmaking. I just think... If you got the sound a bit better it would be flawless. Cheers. I'm talking wind-noise and low frequency rumble. Try a high pass filter.
May, I am just wondering, as I watch how you open the locks with your bum! Do canal boaters have Canal Boaters bum, like tennis players get Tennis elbow 🤣
I hope you get an electric motor in your new boat. Your video has a scene where you are breathing in shimmering diesel fumes and that just ain't good right?

Cropredy to Claydon! Brings back great memories of childhood holidays along the Oxford Canal.
