Love the map graphics!🎉 Fun to see your pirate boat cruising along, spending money, accompanied by birds. I do know it can be hard work at times, and through bad weather can't be fun. But when you have nice weather, it just looks so lovely and inviting. I would love to give it a try. Maybe on a very short hire boat, on a stretch of canal with no locks or swing bridges! 😊
You're quite lucky to be able to leave Bonnie like that, we lived with a lovely border collie for 17 years, literally, she suffered from separation anxiety. About 6 months after we got her we booked her into boarding kennels while we went away for a short break, but after two days the kennel manager called and said we've got to come and fetch her as they were worried, she hadn't eaten or drank anything, so we got on a plane and came home. We never did anything like that again, if she couldn't go, we didn't go. Lovely video as always, thank you so much ..

The thing is for us it was no burden, if we knew there was a problem we wouldn't have tried it in the first place, I knew very little about dogs and certainly nothing about this condition, but as soon as we did it was no problem, she came with us wherever we went. She was a rescue dog, a tri-colour border collie estimated at 8-9 months old when we got her but in a shocking state, thin as a rake and infested with bugs, I even found an air gun pellet embedded in her, how anybody can do a thing like that I don't know. It took a while to eradicate the bugs, got her on a proper diet, but soon people were stopping to admire her in the park, her shiny clean coat and that oh so gorgeous face, very beautiful. She moved to that kennel in the sky late last year aged 17 and sadly missed, but I'm so glad we did it, a truly wonderful experience.

My family is from Westhoughton and I spent many summers there growing up so I especially love how much time you spend around Lancashire and of course your accent :) Today especially caught my ear when you said "ought" instead of "nothing". My father was quite keen on the canals but we never had the opportunity for an adventure (perhaps because mum was not as keen). Keep living your best life.

Nice video, ive written a poem for the bowsoms cabin. The Rum wench is a boat of fun, with Heidi and Bonny, who she loves a tonne. They travel the waterways and enjoy lovely days, But if there's maintenance to be done then Heidi knows the ways. The boat has a vintage Lister, and with a phutt phutt in never mista -------beat. And on a Thursday there's a new video and we're in for a treat. She's a traditional stearn so Heidi don't get a seat, It's traditional or like they say "trad" so can't be that bad, and I'll wait till next Thursday and try not to be too sad.
Love the rear entrance jingle! Another great vlog. I haven’t mentioned before, but the quality of the audio and visuals on your vlogs is excellent! Stewart & Anna x
After being there, I started calling narrowboats the RV's of the canals. It's just so peaceful gliding along the canal enjoying the water and everything it helps grow and flourish. Although I just don't remember hearing narrowboat pirate music. Last but not least I really understand the hard work you go through to put together these videos every week. It's not easy to do all of that alone. Stainless chimney (use stainless hardware either nuts and bolts or screws) that should last you a long time. When you talk about weather it's like we talk about it here. We say if you don't like the weather just wait a day or two.
who knew it would be so cool to watch Heidi screw😁 I had 2 careers i worked in restaurants for 25 years or so, its easier for me to cook for 50 people than it is to cook for 2, and I live alone now, I have a hard time cooking anything that I dont then eat for a week, and still freeze some of . and I'll raise my glass of bourbon to Angela's ditty 🏴☠🤠

Hi Heidi, had a bit of a sad week on RUclips Paul and Anthony of unlocked narrow boat day day, lost their dog Dexter he was 17 years old so sad for them guys are going to really missed Dexter. He was such a wonderful dog anyway keep doing what you’re doing love and appreciate your boat.
I would so love a camper van and a narrowboat, what a fab way to live. Unfortunately it can’t happen for me as I have only one seeing eye and it’s not a full eye, rollicking rollocks I say. But I can still enjoy the canals in Britain and talk to all the wonderful narrowboaters! I love you Heidi, you are so relaxing and fun to watch.❤😊❤x x
Loved the music at the minute and a half mark. I found out that bad cooking can always be leavened with a bit of rum? or whatever is handy.. The Chandler's was interesting but a bit too short to do any proper shopping. Have a great week and fair wind. I learn more every week and I agree with " It's a Heidi day".
Another lovely vlog. I love the canal art, and don't worry if it looks a bit wonky, as it adds to feel of them. I loved the pair of ears in the background as you were lining up the art. Sorry to hear about Polly's gearbox. However, loved Bonny and the 'zoomies' when you got back after the festival. Next time you chat with Mum please ask her about the air cooler cube I got her a few years ago. I won't mention it here (in case this gets deleted for advertising). Mum also researched the Bridgewater Canal for her book 'The Grey Lady'. You might want to put a couple of turns of chicken wire around your nice new chimney (after sealing the ends). That way, should it ever take a dip, you could go magnet fishing for it. Mum didn't do this with a chimney in the past, and so she had to also take a dip to find it again! How do you expect kids to listen to their parents when Tarzan lives half naked, Cinderella comes home at midnight, Pinocchio lies all the time, Aladdin is the king of thieves, Batman drives at 200MPH, Sleeping Beauty is lazy, and Snow White lives with 7 guys. We shouldn't be surprised when kids misbehave, they get it from their story books. Take care, stay safe, and happy cruising.

Ahh My neck of the woods the Bridgewater My Grandparents used to live in Sale along the canal ( well they lie next to it in Sale Cemetery now lol) (I used to walk from Worsley to Leigh as a kid and back in a day!) My mate used to live in the canal house just has you leave the Bridgewater and enter the Leeds and Liverpool at Leigh on the left has you go under the bridge in leigh town centre, his dad used to operate the plank lane lift bridge (think its do it yourself now or CRT volunteers now lift it for you..

Hello Heidi - Beware!! That lovely new SS Chimney "might" cause the rest of the chimney to rot, if it touches steel. A simple trick to stop that is to insulate the connection points at the push fit with some fireproof stove seal material. There is also some marine chemical paint that the you can coat the surfaces with, used on steel/aluminium yachts to do the non contact bit. Remember - prevent problems, and you won't have to CURE problems!! John x

Seeing you have that Admirals rum reminded me of one of my favourite sayings. Which you probably know. That is, to “tap the admiral” or have a sneaky drink. The story goes that after the battle of Trafalgar, Nelson’s body was put in a barrel of brandy, to,preserve him for transport back to England. But sailors being what they are, drilled a hole in the barrel and would take a sneaky drink from the barrel and by the time they got back to England, Nelson was high and dry. The story is disputed, but I love it all the same. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story I say 🥃

Loved the music at the minute and a half mark. I found out that bad cooking can always be leavened with a bit of rum? or whatever is handy.. Sorry to hear about Polly's gearbox. However, loved Bonny and the 'zoomies' when you got back after the festival. Next time you chat with Mum please ask her about the air cooler cube I got her a few years ago. I won't mention it here (in case this gets deleted for advertising). Mum also researched the Bridgewater Canal for her book 'The Grey Lady'.
You might want to put a couple of turns of chicken wire around your nice new chimney (after sealing the ends). That way, should it ever take a dip, you could go magnet fishing for it. Mum didn't do this with a chimney in the past, and so she had to also take a dip to find it again!
How do you expect kids to listen to their parents when Tarzan lives half naked, Cinderella comes home at midnight, Pinocchio lies all the time, Aladdin is the king of thieves, Batman drives at 200MPH, Sleeping Beauty is lazy, and Snow White lives with 7 guys. We shouldn't be surprised when kids misbehave, they get it from their story books.

Nice to see another trip with you on the canal system. Good to see you made a right choice buying morrisons oil , its a very good oil. Made in Shrewsbury. But the bad news is this. Due to the economic climate The Light at The end of the tunnel is to be switched off . To save money . Hope you not afraid of the dark . The tot of rum looked good . Not heard of that one either. Ahh My neck of the woods the Bridgewater My Grandparents used to live in Sale along the canal ( well they lie next to it in Sale Cemetery now lol) (I used to walk from Worsley to Leigh as a kid and back in a day!) My mate used to live in the canal house just has you leave the Bridgewater and enter the Leeds and Liverpool at Leigh on the left has you go under the bridge in leigh town centre, his dad used to operate the plank lane lift bridge (think its do it yourself now or CRT volunteers now lift it for you..
Wow, yes you do it yourself now … it’s a pain single handing as you need to stop the traffic 😂😂

Hello Heidi - Beware!! That lovely new SS Chimney "might" cause the rest of the chimney to rot, if it touches steel. A simple trick to stop that is to insulate the connection points at the push fit with some fireproof stove seal material. There is also some marine chemical paint that the you can coat the surfaces with, used on steel/aluminium yachts to do the non contact bit. Remember - prevent problems, and you won't have to CURE problems!! John x

Seeing you have that Admirals rum reminded me of one of my favourite sayings. Which you probably know. That is, to “tap the admiral” or have a sneaky drink. The story goes that after the battle of Trafalgar, Nelson’s body was put in a barrel of brandy, to,preserve him for transport back to England. But sailors being what they are, drilled a hole in the barrel and would take a sneaky drink from the barrel and by the time they got back to England, Nelson was high and dry.
The story is disputed, but I love it all the same. Never let the truth get in the way of a good story I say 🥃
