Enjoy and don't forget to subscribe and like, too. Thanks!
    Cheers, Donna
A POLYMER CLAY TUTORIAL: Colorful Donut Earrings with Sprinkles
    Materials list:
Clay - I use Kato Polyclay:
    2 oz white
    2 oz yellow
    1 oz red
    1 o magenta
    1 oz turquoise
    1 oz green
    1 oz violet
    1 oz gold
Kato Clear Medium or other liquid polymer clay
    Tools
    pasta machine
    clay blade
    needle tool for piercing
scalpel or needle tool for cutting (this is a thick acupuncture needle set in a ball of scrap clay - it’s perfect for cutting thin sheets of clay)
    brush
    deli paper
    pencil
    ceramic tile
CA glue - I use Loctate Ultragel Control
    coarse sandpaper - I use Abranet P80
2” cutter (or the overall size you wish) I use the nylon cutters as they retain their shape better than the metal wrapped ones.
5/8” cutter (again, the size is your choice) OR my Fave Ruler (FAVE RULER prairiecraft.c...) and my Ring Template (prairiecraft.c... I use these to more accurately cut the center hole)
Optional: kitchen scale for weighing clay amounts.
    Earring Findings
    Stainless ear wires - www.pandahall....
2 medium size oval jump rings - link: prairiecraft.c...
earring findings - I recommend stainless steel
    Color Mixing Formulas
Berry - 1 part white, 2 parts red, 2 parts magenta
Chalky Yellow Orange - 1 part white, 1 part orange, 2 parts yellow
Chalky Turquoise - 1 part white, 1 part turquoise, 1 part green
Chalky Light Green - 1 part turquoise, 1 part yellow, 2 parts green, 5 parts white
Chalky Light Yellow Orange - do not mix a lot, you need a very small amount. 1 part white, 1 part orange, 12 parts yellow
Lavender - do not mix a lot. approx. 1 part violet, 2 parts white
    CHAPTERS AND APPROXIMATE TIMES:
    1:50 Color Mixing Begins
    25:01 Skinner Blend Begins
    28:48 Plug to Sheet
    45:18 Sheets to Donuts
    1:06 Backing the Donuts
    1:17 Finishing
Lavender - do not mix a lot. approx. 1 part violet, 2 parts white

This color palette just made my creative gears go into overtime!!! I don't think I've ever been so excited about color palettes. Now that I'm through the mixing and currently baking my swatches (cause I have a feeling I'm gonna use this palette a lot) I feel like I have a whole new appreciation for polymer clay. Color has always been a struggle for me. Even knowing RYB and CMYK color mixing- until you dive in and start mixing and get to know the clay it's still a mystery because... You know.. polymer clay colors and then it can vary by brand and that just always sounded like waaaay more effort than I wanted to put into it. Yet I am not one to want to use straight from the package either. So it kinda stunted my polymer claying. Anyhow- thank you for the effort you put into these videos and content. Absolutely... *chef's kiss* lol

Love this tutorial! Just a note on stainless steel being hypoallergenic. Hypoallergenic is a loosely used term that has no real meaning, especially in jewelry. I avoid using the term for that reason. Stainless and surgical steel still contain small amounts of nickel, so some will still react to it. Titanium and niobium are the most inert, ear safe metals 😊 Ginger also discusses this at TBBT.

Hi Melanie! You know that green stuff is actually refrigerator liner (keeps veggies fresher longer) If you don't have it (Dualplex) then check out thin aquarium filter sheets. You know, I am going to find out the cost of shipping. The clay is now on super sale and so it might make sense to do just that. Let me check. I will post what I find in the community or, you can email vernon.ezell@gmail.com and he will take it from there. Hugs! D
