I love your videos, I love to hear you sing. You mentioned on one of your videos that a negative comment was left about your singing… keep singing, you’re a delight 🤗
Hi Donna, I am trying to get back into my polymer clay hobby again. Your video tutorials are very informative and although making canes is not my thing, I am learning a lot as I watch you work with your clay. Thank you ❤️
Donna, thank you once again for sharing your amazing and creative talents with us. You have such a gift in teaching that makes sense to me. I love that you always have a positive attitude, and a song in your heart. I also love that you give a shout out to those that have shared their techniques as well. And I love when sweet Louie makes a none camera appearance. You are the best.❤❤
Thank you!❤ I have an Oscar but it’s called “Black & Decker”!😊 I have used it for nearly 30 years, and it’s still going strong! Should you ever want to clean yours (you probably have already) I have used “FAST ORANGE-SMOOTH”, which I saw on another person’s channel (sorry do not remember who)! I ordered off Amazon. Just rub some on the inside and all around - let it sit a couple of minutes and wipe out with rag (or whatever you use) and it is pretty amazing for removing bits of clay left behind and also some of the coloring left behind!! I love your work, how you work and how you speak to us through your videos! Thanks again!!❤
How funny! Your Little Oskar is what every mum has in their kitchen in Paris to mix herbs and chop garlic or onions. Parisian kitchens are so tiny, there’s no space for anything else so we also use it to mix dough when making a cake. I grew up with my mum using it (it’s called Moulinex Robot in France) and she gave me one when I went to Uni - yes! French students go to the market where food is cheaper and cook from scratch rather than eat Ramen noodles in a paquet. 😂 🤷🏻♀️
Such a simple cane, but so much can be done with it. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I just found your channel not too long ago and I have already learned so much. It is enjoyable to watch you work and see how you work things out.
Very nice to see the video of the Starry Night cane and what to do with it. I have your book with it in too, but the video just shows so much more of your clay-handling techniques. Thanks, Donna!
Thank you Donna for sharing your infinite knowledge. I've learned so much, I'm binging your brilliant tutorials, no housework done 🙈except organising my craft room after a house move 😄That's my priority so I can begin to create again.
Oh Happy Day! Donna tute Day! You are so gracious and kind to give credit to others 💜. You are a rockstar--once again, I learned a bunch and will start incorporating sound effects while I clay!
I love watching you work, Donna. Thank you for these videos! I always wonder how you make your work look so perfect. These videos give a glimpse into how you do just that.
Donna I watched you trying to square off your cane. The square pairs you were given from Theresa Salgado would probably be a great help to you next time. Another EXCELLENT tut! Thx!!
Thank you so much Dona. You are such a pleasure to watch. Of course I have learned from you! I will start making these Stary night canes! so fun!!!! xoxo
I love this video! Thank You for sharing your vast knowledge with us! I really enjoy your channel and am truly grateful for the time you spend teaching us.
It is so fascinating watching you work on your creations and bring your ideas to life in front of our eyes. I don’t comment much even though I have been watching all your videos and was thrilled that you were making these videos. Your style and the things you make are beautiful and so well done. I learn so much about the process of working with clay when I watch you. It makes me really think about how I go about my working with clay. I love how you take your time to manipulate the clay into doing what you want it to do and this video so illustrated that. It’s almost like going into meditation watching you work. It is so helpful to hear your thoughts and reasons for doing what you are doing as you are doing it. And I, too, love your spontaneous expressions and ideas. It is such a pleasure to join you in the process, thank you so much for going through all the work of sharing with all of us, it’s such a gift, thank you🙏
I love how at the 1:16:26mm you start humming the theme song from the 1960's TV show 'Rawhide! 🤣 Head 'em up...Move 'em out... Keep those dogies movin'..' Rollin'..rollin'..rollin'..Rawhide!😁
OMG Dona!!!!! I never new you had a book with this technique! I have been looking for a way to do it in polymer since the beginning of times!!! What a gift! Thanks! I am buying the book too! Thanks!
I feel as if you have opened up a whole new universe of clay for me. I am looking forward to trying your techniques. And I especially like how you work, and play, with the clay..not against it. Keep doing the videos..and feel free to say 'Now' as many times as you want 😁.
What a great use for castoffs, such a simple process with a lovely outcome. I like the idea of doing it to jump start ideas. I've only just discovered you & look forward to discovering more of your designs. One of the things that i love about the members of the clay community that i've come across, almost all make a point of naming the original source of ideas & talking up other members.
Hi, Donna. I am missing you and hope you are feeling well. Love your humming! Remember the theme from “Rawhide”! Hope to see more tutorials after the New Year!
I have your book Donna, which introduced me to PolymerClay, a craft I love, so thank you ❤. But, your tutorials are always above par and your teaching process is motivating and opens so many doors for using old canes or making new ones. Thank you so very much for sharing your incredible talent with us ❤
Dona , I met Klew in Tehachapi, CA. The midwife told me about her. I have been to CA, many times to take classes from her. I also have grandchildren that live there. For me it’s a win win situation. Barbara Tumlinson
Donna I really love your Starry Night canes! Thanks so much for sharing them and how to do variations on them too! I’m so grateful that you are sharing your talents with others. I’d like to know if you’ve ever made any out of translucent clay? I’m thinking it would look amazing on a glass bottle. I may give that a try! 😊
You know, I have not, Susan. Could be interesting. Just make sure you have white or some opaque color to add some definition. Without it, you will have color blending into each other. Which could also work! Good luck, kid!❤️
I wasn’t going to watch this video yet as I wanted to work on the black/white canes but I just had to, I’m so glad I did as this has given me even more ideas to play with. I love how you explain in detail as you show visually what you are showing us. I’m so happy that I have found your channel as I’m learning more from you than any others that I’ve watched. Excellent teacher makes excellent students 😊 Thank you P.S. I just bought one of your books. Millefiori Techniques :D
I have this cane in my stash. Did I get it from your tutorial? I think it had to have been. I bought every single tutorial you and everyone else made before you shifted gears. I can’t say I’ve made them all, I’m working on it. 😉
Oh, i love Wednesdays 😅 I love your tutorials. I have watched your videos so many times, that can recognize your hands from a thousand. Now i have your disc necklace and also many variations. Thank you for being with us. P.s where do you have your classes? How can i participate?
I so love that you give credit to those who came with an idea. I always try to do the same. What is the name of the book this came from? Believe it or not it may be a book I’m missing!
Thanks so much for sharing all your experience and talent with us, Donna. Question - how long can you let conditioned clay sit prior to doing something with it like this? And how would you warm up a cane that's been sitting for a while? (If you think you have to.)
Hi Marcia, I find that very old conditioned clay is fine. The chopping and then rolling seems to take care of that! I can’t say what would happen with other brands of clay, though…
You know, with fresh clay, I would condition small-is amounts of many colors and then finely chop and mix them and I think you’d have great canes. Using scrap tends to lead to smaller bits of colors and that’s really what you usually want. I say usually because the almost white with bits of grey features pretty chunky white pieces. Make sense? 😊❤️
Hi Debbie; I use an Atlas 180 that starts at “0” as its thickest setting. I love it and I do have a foot pedal, it’s also an Atlas but a sewing machine pedal works, too! Hugs, D
Attribution is so important...we stand ON The shoulders of giants! Thanks, Donna. .
I love your videos, I love to hear you sing. You mentioned on one of your videos that a negative comment was left about your singing… keep singing, you’re a delight 🤗

Your lovely manicured fingers speak as well as your lovely hands and voice…. Bravo❤️
Sal, that does not happen often…😆❤️
I love chopping the clay by hand.
Me toooooo!!
And me, too❣️
Donna, thank you once again for sharing your amazing and creative talents with us. You have such a gift in teaching that makes sense to me. Just love the sounds of the beads

Thank you so much!!❤️
Thank you for teaching how to use up the leftover bits!
Oh, my, the left over its would take over if we didn't use them, right? Yup!
Gosh, I feel exhausted just watching all of that! Thank you for sharing so much xxx

Beautiful. I cannot wait to do a purple Starry night cane! I absolutely love this! 🥰
Perfect use of clay that is just sitting around. I always have loads of left over pieces. My old food processor may just get switched to clay.🤣
I love how at the 1:16:26mm you start humming the theme song from the 1960's TV show 'Rawhide! 🤣

Hi Linda! Hope you’re well and enjoying grandbabies? Id that even possible? Big hugs, ❤️
I have this cane in my stash. Did I get it from your tutorial? I think it had to have been. I bought every single tutorial you and everyone else made before you shifted gears. I can’t say I’ve made them all, I’m working on it. 😉
Maybe! It was also in my millefiori book, too. Hugs, D😊💜
Thank you so much! You are a wonderful teacher. I need to find your book. I have your clay! :) :) :)
Typos can be "curious". I meant 4 legged creatures.🤗 Thank you again!
14:46 I put the colors more ‘divided’ in the mixer and/or ad another color so it doesn’t mix to much.
Thanks!
Thank you, Ruthann! Hugs, D
Oh, i love Wednesdays 😅

I love your starry nights. But i'm new enough that I don't have that much scrap clay. Is there any recipe for using fresh clay or recommendations?

Using scrap tends to lead to smaller bits of colors and that’s really what you usually want. I say usually because the almost white with bits of grey features pretty chunky white pieces. @DonnaKatoArt Yes, thank you. I'll play with it and see what happens!
Which of your books feature the starry night canes? They’re beautiful!
Hi! This is in my Millefiori book! 😊❤️
@@DonnaKatoArt I ordered the book! Can’t wait for it’s arrival.
What kind of pasta machine do you use? Have you added a sewing machine foot pedal to it?
Hi Debbie; I use an Atlas 180 that starts at “0” as its thickest setting. I love it and I do have a foot pedal, it’s also an Atlas but a sewing machine pedal works, too! Hugs, D
My Mom and Dad had an Oskar...it sold the whole family on food processors. Sadly, most of the ones I have had since have not lived up to it!!🤣😂
That Oskar is a real powerhouse, Wendy. I bought it for clay so many years ago and it just keeps plugging along!
What is the name of the book you refer to and where can I purchase it?
Hi Kathleen! It’s my millefiori book. The Art of Polymer Clay, Millefiori. It’s on Amazon! Cheers, D❤️
What size is your pasta roller😊
My machine is the small Atlas. The rollers are 6” long. ❤️
C’est quel sorte le laminoir électrique, ou l’avez-vous acheté?
Nancy, it’s an Atlas motor and it fits in the receptacle for the handle. I love my motor!😊❤️
Do u live in New York by chance and give classes?
Hi Sally! I live in Colorado. Trying to move back to Chicago. I sure miss the city…😊❤️

Please give us recipe of kato polymer clay. Please, I requesting you. Please🙏 tell us how to make kato polyclay at home with house ingredients.
I don’t know the formula! Also, no clay company would ever share that information. Sorry but I can’t help you.
Well, Thank you for your kind information.
And, also thank you for giving my answer I waited. But, If you get the recipe. So, please inform us.
U should have install the plastic container followed by the blade then pour in the chopped clay……..
Sometimes, I do!😊
Get a center-finder ruler. Screw the math.
Lol. I have one! I will try to remember that next time!😊❤️
Id rather have a Bible study
I think you should do just that! Polymer clay tutorials and Bible studies are not very similar!
@@DonnaKatoArt I'm so sorry! I thought I posted that comment to another channel. Lol youtube is so stupid.
