There is a bit that does make a Power Instinct reference, as in one of the games, Ume and Tane Gotetsu got themselves in as a single entry (maybe as a boss, as well) by tying themselves up in a manner similar to how Ayaka is shown here. (Though the judges aren't really a fan of Ayaka's attempt and the general overpowering from it, and if the match goes into decision, she's going to get very low marks regardless of her performance.)
I think it's funny how there's no dramatic slo-mo or echoing wail from a defeated opponent as they fall to the ground. You just punch their ass all the way off the screen and it's over.
Im at loss here is it the cutesy semi chibi art style or the funky and groovy soundtrack got some boppers to chill out to? Still a good play through LG.

Satsuki's moveset in Melty Blood is deeply inspired by this but Ciel's is a total rework, funny.
