In Botswana in several parks we had the elephants sharing the campsites with us. I have the pictures of me keeping our truck between the elephant and me. They would wander up look at the truck and just go on by. The first time it was disconcerting to say the least but by the third park we started getting used to the fact they shared the campground with you and would stand by the trees between the campsites. The washroom facilities had electric fences to keep the elephants away but the campground was open for the wildlife. You just kept out of the elephants way during the day and at night they just walked by, somehow not disturbing the campers. Some people had ground tents which I certainly would not have liked with a herd of elephants in the campsite. I do have some great very close up pictures 😅 to remember the campgrounds by.

I’ve only just joined you. My word, what a marvellous adventure you guys are experiencing. Those rumbles you talk about is just the elephants talking to each other. And they certainly won’t accidentally bump into your vehicle. They are extremely sensitive and aware of their surroundings. I hope you continue to enjoy your travels.

Harry... Chloe.... You guys are back! It's been a month! You had us worried a tad. It is Africa after all! Just that old Namibian saying Hi again! Loved the video and the footage and super to see places we've not visited yet in a lifetime. You got us itching to load the truck, but of course when you mentioned that transfer rate our hearts just sink a little... 27pounds! Oh boy our meager South African Rand just has become so short and of course we so badly want to do a trip back "home". Much Off-grid Regards, DNA

Maybe the elephants were were being hassled by lions - elephants group together and become very vocal at night if lions are around and they have young ones - great experience but not in the middle of the night alone in the African bush !

Hi I like your videos, but why, like so many other RUclipsrs do you only leave the information/captions on the screen for such a short time, if you want us to have the information leave it on the screen so that we can read it, surely it doesn’t matter if it’s on the screen for a few more seconds.
