  • In this video, we take you through the third part of our series on how to install the S&S Cycle Power Package. For part 3, we go over the break-in procedure post-install and get the bike on the dyno to see what kind of power we can get out of it!

I like that you dyno the build!

We built this Dyna with the intention to rack up the miles with it, so a proper tune is a necessity!

My used road king supposedly come with a 95" kit installed. I bought it used. Would this 100" kit be a worthy upgrade?

Great video, want to do this with my ‘09 Fatboy. So can I run the 585 cams with no head work? Thx

The 585 is a bolt-in friendly cam that focuses heavily on the top end, you will notice the power band ranging from 3500-6000 rpm.

I think it would really hit hard if you added the S&S heads 🤔👌🏿

Hi. I have enjoyed your V111 for 3years.
No problem at all except oil usage.
    I should refill 1qt every 500 miles.
I checked PSI of stroke and valve guide seals.
    Nothing unusual.
    Is it normal.
    Thank you in advance.

Would you recommend a tuner when going with the big bore and cams? If so what brand do you recommend

    • @SSCycleInc
      @SSCycleInc  2 года назад +3

You absolutely will have to retune after that big of a change. We have had good luck with the PowerVision systems, but would recommend that you connect with the shop that will be doing your tune to see what system the are most familiar with.

Hey so I just installed the 106 big bore kit on my dyna fxdc and is the break in cycle only 50 miles I read it was 500 ?

Hey, The first 50 miles are the most critical for new rings and piston break-in. Engine damage is most likely to occur during this period. Keep heat down by not exceeding 2500rpm. Avoid lugging the engine, riding in hot weather or in traffic. Vary the engine speed. We recommend changing the oil after the first 50 miles.
The next 500 miles should be spent running no faster than 3500rpm or 60mph. Avoid running continuous steady speeds, and do not lug the engine, Vary the rpm. We recommend changing the oil again at 500 miles.
For the balance of the first 1000 miles the engine can be run in a normal but conservative manner. You can be more liberal with the rpm range and the motorcycle can be operated at normal highway speeds. Avoid overheating or putting any hard strain on the engine; no drag racing, dyno runs, excessive speed, trailer towing or side car operation.
After that, change the oil again and you’re good to go!

Are you supposed to change the transmission and primary after the first 50 or just the engine oil? Just did the 98 big bore kit with 585 cams and Barnet clutch

    • @jaythebull8795

primary and trans have separate oil compartments from each other and engine.

I feel it prudent to do an oil change even after the heat cycling. Then another one after the 50 miles. And then another one at 500 miles and one at a thousand, then, and ONLY then I go to the regular intervals.
