My 2 cents (based on actual experience)...Not familiar with Feuling's 465 cam, but I am familiar with the S&S 465 cam and the S&S 475 cam. Also, The Wood 22XE appears to be a great cam, definitely worth considering for Touring, 2-up, etc. (just saying). IMO and based on the valve timing events of these two S&S cams: the S&S 465 cam works very well in stock compression 107 (10.0:1)/114 (10.5:1)/117 (10.2:1) M8's. It has a nice chop at idle and more importantly [where Torque is desired in the low-to-mid range, and hits early] works extremely well in a Touring Chassis Harley, riding 2-up, and riding in the curves up in the hills, etc. On a 2021 RGS 114, I can feel the torque coming on early (below 2000 rpm), very strong mid-range (2750-4000+), and plenty of power from 4500-5000+. The S&S 475 cam (IMO needs more compression, 10.75:1 to 11.0:1), as when installed in a stock compression engine, gives up some low end torque but "seems" to have more midrange torque (3000-4500) and nice power on the top end, provided the Tune is spot-on. I always run a long (full) 2-1 exhaust (and 18mm wideband O2 sensors), ventilate the crankcase (Trask M8 checkvent), and tune with Dynojet Power Vision (PV3b for 2021-2023 Harleys).
You should include the total cost to get that type of performance . Intake, cam, pipes, tune, tuner (device), labor. That way when you’re comparing this to the Challenger you can explain to your audience that the Harley runs as good as the Indian but it costs $5000.
I had the Feuling 465 and D&D billet cat. 111 hp 118 tq in a 2018 RGS. Came on strong at 2300’ish rpm. I now have a 22 CVO Rd Glide Limited and I’m going to run the 30/30, 64 mm throttle body and manifold. I have a friend with a 22 RG limited w/114. He has the 475, D&D and 55mm manifold. That bike is NASTY!!!
Thanks for the footage marvel The exhaust velocity (often misworded as back pressure) definitely slows down with the oversized mufflers affecting low end torque. The quality of the tune could also be an issue. As far as the sheet starting at 2000 RPM, that is just a common RPM range that tuners usually start the graph because people do not (or at least should not) realistically cruise under that range. Personally, I try to keep cruising RPM around 3000, but that's a separate discussion. I've heard lots of people say the 475 just isn't a good low end cam. This is incorrect. In many of the instances it is due to what I just mentioned: poor exhaust combination and/or poor tune. I'm confident you can get that torque back, or even improved with the right exhaust combo and/or tuning resolution.
2023 fxrs 117. Just did the s&s 475c cam and cam chest upgrade. Lifters, rods, pump and chest. The heads were done locally by a good Indy speed shop. Larger tb and inj. Installed S&S Cycle 2 into 1 Sidewinder Complete Exhaust System. S&S stinger air cleaner with bypass. Tuned using PV 3 with target tune. After dialing in I have very little bogging as you define it in your video. I’m not real heavy, 138 soaking wet with boots on. That s&s cam has mad ass torque off the line and pulls strong throughout the rpm range until redline. Power is best after 2000 and peaks at around 5700 for my build but no slouch off the stop. Can pull the front end up easily in third. Sound is as you say, fucking hard-on inducing amazing. Great cam that loves a well breathing head and lots of fuel. I don’t really think of the 475c as a simple blot on and go cam. There are other things you “should do” to get the best performance out os that cam.
Just put a 475 in a 107 tuned with TTS. It falls on it’s face under 2k, but pulls like a train 3 to redline. If you use it for around town, low speed, it’s definitely not for you. Highway passing and riding at speed, it’s good to go.

I been riding too many years. Im 64 now. I do not understand the bogging you speak of. I know what bogging is, but we avoid bogging by being in a gear where your rpms are not bogged down. I have a 2019 Cvo Limited 117 with Bassani headers, 4inch Rineharts, an S&S 475 cam and a fuel moto tuner. 35k on her now.. All I can say is she has plenty of power in any gear. 6th gear you really need to be at 80 mph or above to use 6th gear. Acts like an overdrive trans gear. 5th and below has all the power. Great video and thanks for taking your time to make it and explain everything. Nice job.
I believe the point he is trying to make is that the 475 cam comes on around 2700 to 3000 rpms vs the 465 comes on at 2000 rpms. so it is more of a torque cam.
@@jimbo4260 No problem, I also been riding for a longtime now at the age of 65 soon. Boy how time flys. I bought a 2022 SGS with a 114 and went through 2 cams so far. The Zippers RS 468 is a great cam for my RKS. Awesome TQ cam that pulls all the way to the redline. Also, running KW exhaust with a Fuel Moto header pipe.
Have the 475 in my 19 glide with stock headpipe v&h torquer 450’s and v&h breather. Did the cam hear kit from s&s and it put down 110hp 127 torque dyno tuned. No bogging very crisp and extremely healthy. Nasty cam and I love it.

S&S 475c is the way to go for me and my set up cause it's a loud chopping idle that I love but the sound is insane But I know what you mean about the low speed of the 475c

It seems when the lift of a cam is like around the 470 mark in a 114 so 10.5:1 compression youre gonna get that bogging low down. But that higher lift goves a nice lope.So you can either have rideability with a cam 450-460 ish lift(in a 114) or lose that rideability when you go above 470 lift. You cant have it all.

Currently running an S&S 475 cam and love the sound, especially at idle. What i dislike is the low end power. The bike doesn’t come alive until 3000+. If I change the cam it would be for one that the peak power comes in sooner.
FXDR 114 ,CR485/cast 55 manifold,55 tb/6.2inj, 129.80/132.40 sae PV/dyno ,S&S 2-2 , tq would hit real early with good bagger 2-1, this thing pulls like crazy & keeps going
You have felt both cams, what would you recommend for a 2022 SgS. I like to play around the 2500 to 3500 range. I like going from light to light quick around town but I don't want to compromise some highway performance and 2 up riding either..
I had the 475 in my 22 Fat Bob and i didnt like it.The bogging down at low rpms and the fact that it wanted to carry a gear lower than stock is not for me.And im not the only one that feels that way about the 475.
Good review of similar priced cams. The view from your bike is awesome with gauges right up front. If I ever go the cam route it will be a set of CVO take-off SE-255 cams. Can be had pretty cheap after the doctor and lawyers have the local dealer install cams on their CVO they’ll never ride. Riders should install whatever they’ll benefit the most from. Some folks get angry cams they can’t ride across town with just to sound cool.
Ok - I just picked up the 23 Streeg Glide ST, what cam and exhaust configurations would be best for taking trips and getting down and dirty in the twisties.
I put a 475 in a breakout after listening to the lope of it in your video on the lowrider But coming from a screaming eagle torque cam it did bog alot off the light and low revs On an open road it was great and ofcourse pulled harder but in traffic tbh the s/e cam was better and snappier Probably wouldve kept it if i knew that before and saved money😅 The sound was almost worth the low end dip though as said it is a monster and turns heads Since sold it anyway Can you comment at all on how the star 30/30 feels and if it bogs at low revs like that because on a tourer i dont want that and i know you rode that road glide a while back with the star cam I think the rs468/ s&s465 or your cam suits a tourer better interested to hear if the star 30/30 has a bottom end dip on heavy tourers? because it makes good hp numbers but havnt had the chance to ride one Leaving exhaust variations etc out of it and just general speaking ofcourse
I think the red shift 468 is a good alternative to the s&s 475, definitely smoother. Otherwise an 465 s&s or fueling would be the perfect compromise. But honestly on a touring i would pick the screamin eagle torque cam, at least it sounds way better than stock and is rideable.
@@Pierfrancescotancredi agree with the rideable side of the s/e cam Havnt had any experience other than that or the 475 Would be lovely to try the inbetweens Very keen to hear how the 30/30 goes for bottom end in and out of traffic If its still lacking there i think ill try the 468 or fueling 465 next time round The s/e torque cam was great for dipping traffic but after 3.5k rpm its hard to tell a difference in pull from stock I only had it for a short time but it was enough to have fun thats for sure
great video, what would be a good cam for my 22 Fat Bob 114? It’s my commuter bike, ride solo in Los Angeles traffic usually never go past 90 MPR and total weight with gear is about 200 lbs.
I just did the S&S 465 in mine, same bike, its all the power in the usable RPM range, down low where you need it & still plenty on top, sound at idle and on the gas is just as good as the 475, I don't understand why anyone still buys the 475, although I've seen a few who switched from the 475 to the 465 and were happy they did...Anyway, lots of good cams out there, but you can't go wrong with 465 IMO
Really.... the 475 is the torque cam? Compare the 465 S&S torque cam with the reaper & see the difference. This is taken from the S&S website! 475 - 100 HP Cam Bolt in 100 Horsepower! (when coupled with intake and exhaust) Perfect for 107" and 114" engines Compatible with all stock valve train components 50-State compliant version available 465 Torque Cam Improved Torque and HP Perfect bolt-in cam for heavy touring bikes
Of the S&S bolt-on cams, the 465 would be the torque cam, 475 moves that rev range to a point of actually losing toque in the low range, compared to the stock. Once it comes out of 2.5-3, it’s straight up.
That 'bogging' you're talking about isn't it bogging, it's the chop of the cam. If you're not used to bigger cams and don't want that lope (that I personally love), you should have gone with the 465 which is the 'smoother' feeling cam down low and for more torque down low.
I just came back from trip to NH and you’re right nothing but traffic, toll roads, and semi’s. A few nice roads in PA around Tioga made the trip memorable.

Marvel, you forgot, zippers 468 hands-down best small size cam! Fueling not quite enough, s@s is rough. 468 pulls longer and stronger. With a smooth ride,
There is no “best” cam, hence the reason builders use multiple brands/sizes. It’s the use that dictates what you should choose.
Yes, 468 fits most, especially wanting a good dependable stage 2
I’ve herd great things about zippers.
It's a good compromise between a 465 and a 475.
The 468 does make your bike run a little hotter though
Great comparison MK! I’m currently running the TTS 175 cam on a CVO RG 117. Not a heavy chop like the S&S but it gets busy once you get on it.
Great video brother thank you and it looks like your riding in my old home town of Clifton NJ am I right
I recognized some of those roads hey. Cool stuff. I’m putting the Reaper in my 2020 Street Glide just put 4 Cannons on and adding K&N air intake
I went with 30/30 Star racing cam on my 2022 Lowrider S, its pretty nice
That cam is awesome guys at the torque shop swear by it
Others have mentioned it, so I will to, Zipper's/Red Shift cams ?
Currently running an S&S 475 cam and love the sound, especially at idle. What i dislike is the low end power. The bike doesn’t come alive until 3000+. If I change the cam it would be for one that the peak power comes in sooner.
Great cam but Very true
get the 465 its the torque cam & a world of difference & pulls all the way
2020 FXLRS , Diamond Bar choppers, CA, 475 cam, TTS tuner, TBR 2 into 1 , HPI intake …. Game over
475 and Tbr exhaust is the setup on my low rider s
Sound & torque can’t beat the cr483 with Freedom sharp curve radius exhaust 👌
FXDR 114 ,CR485/cast 55 manifold,55 tb/6.2inj, 129.80/132.40 sae PV/dyno ,S&S 2-2 , tq would hit real early with good bagger 2-1, this thing pulls like crazy & keeps going
What about the zippers 468 cam?
I have the red shift .468 and love it…
You have felt both cams, what would you recommend for a 2022 SgS. I like to play around the 2500 to 3500 range. I like going from light to light quick around town but I don't want to compromise some highway performance and 2 up riding either..
Got 2024 street bob after a 465 cam riding streets, not highways is this good choice
I had the 475 in my 22 Fat Bob and i didnt like it.The bogging down at low rpms and the fact that it wanted to carry a gear lower than stock is not for me.And im not the only one that feels that way about the 475.
IMO its all about the tune done from a dyno.
I have to ask brother that ride your doing in this video is that Clifton NJ? It looks like my old hood right by Colfax Ave
Now i know what to mess up my warranty with😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hey kid that’s a nice bike I ride the same bike 2020 though with the 447 cam but you know I was thinking keep the same cam and go bigger else where
Ok - I just picked up the 23 Streeg Glide ST, what cam and exhaust configurations would be best for taking trips and getting down and dirty in the twisties.
I put a 475 in a breakout after listening to the lope of it in your video on the lowrider
But coming from a screaming eagle torque cam it did bog alot off the light and low revs
On an open road it was great and ofcourse pulled harder but in traffic tbh the s/e cam was better and snappier
Probably wouldve kept it if i knew that before and saved money😅
The sound was almost worth the low end dip though as said it is a monster and turns heads
Since sold it anyway
Can you comment at all on how the star 30/30 feels and if it bogs at low revs like that because on a tourer i dont want that and i know you rode that road glide a while back with the star cam
I think the rs468/ s&s465 or your cam suits a tourer better
interested to hear if the star 30/30 has a bottom end dip on heavy tourers? because it makes good hp numbers but havnt had the chance to ride one
Leaving exhaust variations etc out of it and just general speaking ofcourse
I think the red shift 468 is a good alternative to the s&s 475, definitely smoother.
Otherwise an 465 s&s or fueling would be the perfect compromise.
But honestly on a touring i would pick the screamin eagle torque cam, at least it sounds way better than stock and is rideable.
@@Pierfrancescotancredi agree with the rideable side of the s/e cam
Havnt had any experience other than that or the 475
Would be lovely to try the inbetweens
Very keen to hear how the 30/30 goes for bottom end in and out of traffic
If its still lacking there i think ill try the 468 or fueling 465 next time round
The s/e torque cam was great for dipping traffic but after 3.5k rpm its hard to tell a difference in pull from stock
I only had it for a short time but it was enough to have fun thats for sure
I’ve got the 475 in my RG. 118hp 131tq. Soon to do a 128 with a 492 moonshine cam.
Nice I did a 122 on my low rider s with the 475 and that thing was a beast
@@Marvelkid87 oh yeah I remember 🤘🏻
you do cam chest/oil pump as well with those cam upgrades???
I thought 475 is Horse power Cam starting from 3000rpm.
great video, what would be a good cam for my 22 Fat Bob 114? It’s my commuter bike, ride solo in Los Angeles traffic usually never go past 90 MPR and total weight with gear is about 200 lbs.
also looking for a 2-1 I can buy in California
I just did the S&S 465 in mine, same bike, its all the power in the usable RPM range, down low where you need it & still plenty on top, sound at idle and on the gas is just as good as the 475, I don't understand why anyone still buys the 475, although I've seen a few who switched from the 475 to the 465 and were happy they did...Anyway, lots of good cams out there, but you can't go wrong with 465 IMO
Really.... the 475 is the torque cam? Compare the 465 S&S torque cam with the reaper & see the difference. This is taken from the S&S website!
475 - 100 HP Cam
Bolt in 100 Horsepower! (when coupled with intake and exhaust)
Perfect for 107" and 114" engines
Compatible with all stock valve train components
50-State compliant version available
465 Torque Cam
Improved Torque and HP
Perfect bolt-in cam for heavy touring bikes
475 is a horse power cam. 465 is the torque cam. 475 is a beast in the higher rpm range.
Why did you do away with the Harley SE torque cam?
Why not compare a 465 to 465 since both companies make a 465 cam
Have you ever ran the Woods 22X or 22XE can=m on M8?
I haven’t I’ve herd great things about it though
Have you tried the Star Racing 3030 cam?
I have it’s a great option a few of my friends have it
cycle rama 483 cam best m8 cam best for hp and tq and best sounding cam
That’s the one that’s going on my new bike
thought the S&S 475 was a power cam?
No
Of the S&S bolt-on cams, the 465 would be the torque cam, 475 moves that rev range to a point of actually losing toque in the low range, compared to the stock. Once it comes out of 2.5-3, it’s straight up.
You are right and he's wrong. 465 is the torque cam.

That 'bogging' you're talking about isn't it bogging, it's the chop of the cam. If you're not used to bigger cams and don't want that lope (that I personally love), you should have gone with the 465 which is the 'smoother' feeling cam down low and for more torque down low.
The s&s 550 cam is good
I will never ride out east. Nothing east of the Mississippi..just to many damn cars.
I just came back from trip to NH and you’re right nothing but traffic, toll roads, and semi’s. A few nice roads in PA around Tioga made the trip memorable.
The truth is!!!!! Any cam upgrade is better than stock.! Stock is for jocks.....
The 475 is a HP cam.Not a torque cam.
You should be happy to ditch the NY tag. Congrats
My number ! 117
