- A sheriff’s deputy had a standoff with a suspect who authorities say was threatening people inside a Florida Walmart while carrying a knife. Bodycam video shows the suspect barely moving or even responding to the deputy’s commands as he points his gun at her while repeatedly telling her to drop the knife. Authorities say they were called because the woman allegedly walked into the Walmart wielding a brick and threatening customers. Inside Edition Digital’s Mara Montalbano has more.
He gave her literally 25+ warnings. She was crazy and he was incredibly patient.

There was an incident at a Walmart (don't remember which) where a man tried to rape a woman. He pulled up her dress and pulled her underwear down. Luckily bystanders tackled him to the ground and was taken to jail by police. It's a sad day in America when you can't even grocery shop without sexual assault. The meth addict in this video is lucky she fall on a shelf of clothes instead head onto concrete.

he was fishing for some sort of reaction. there was none, so she wasn't an immediate danger. if she became one, he had a gun pointed. once the reinforcements came, the gun was switched for a taser given that the situation wasn't improving.

My 23 yrs younger than me baby sister lives in FL. I'm so urging her to move out. Not that anywhere is perfectly safe, FL has always been unsafe.
I was a professional driver, small framed woman, I had more issues there than in any other state. Even took a walk once for exercise (too much sitting behind the wheel) as I had time to waste. I called the cops more than once as I'd gotten lost. They never assisted me, tho 1 did slow & asked me questions during my trek. I was later told I was in a 'bad' neighborhood. Well, the people in that neighborhood were quite decent, it was the cops with an attitude, whom I didn't trust.

Perfect handling of the situation. Calm but firm commands, after non-compliance a non-lethal takedown. This should be educational material.
She’s literally an NPC. Doesn’t listen to what you say, and when you shoot them, just falls back with amazing ragdoll physics. Plus the fact that the knife stayed in her hand, I’m convinced this Walmart is actually a video game.

He couldn’t do anything until backup arrived. He couldn’t shoot her since she wasn’t escalating the situation and he couldn’t switch to his taser since there was no one with him to deploy lethal in the case that the taser was ineffective

Edit: Yes, he gave her too many warnings. But he could not make a move unless he had another officer covering him, it's just protocol. The warnings he gave was just him waiting for backup, otherwise he would have acted sooner.

This woman had a knife and she refused to follow police orders. Somehow this officer managed to only use his taser. Too often this level of judgement isn’t used by law enforcement. I am happy to see this officer was able to maintain control and calm.
This was a situation that was handled well, but it was able to be handled well. Lots of times, the cop has no choice. The lady wasn’t charging at him, and her being distracted gave him the time to switch to non-lethal. The sad truth is that not every officer is this lucky, and it’s either kill or be killed.
If I were that cowardly security guard, I would take the knife away from her and push her out of the shop...
