  • If you spend any time on social media, you've probably heard the pleas: "Stop asking women when they're having a baby!"
It's a question women are asked constantly during their potentially fertility years, and there are so many it can be hurtful. Infertility and miscarriage are two of the most obvious. But there's also the fact that not everyone wants to have children, and this question assumes reproducing is part of a woman's biological imperative.
For centuries, women have felt pressure to have a baby. Most adult women without children by their late twenties have found themselves at parties, holidays, or family dinners where someone comments on their “biological clock” or asks that inevitable question-”When are you going to have a baby?”
In this episode, we dive deep into our own stories, those of the Undefining Motherhood community at large, and pop in some fascinating tidbits of history as we try to answer this question-Why does our society feel so comfortable asking personal questions about women’s bodies?
