I was 5 minutes into this video when blizzard emailed me with a survey! 😂 It asked about MoP classic interest in addition to questions on SoD and TWW. I put the request for TBC in every text field I could!!
I think I'd like to see a return to TBC or Wrath mostly because they had some of the most fun leveling lore wise in the game. Cause I miss old class quests like how dark the Blood Elf paladin quests can get especially before Kael's betrayal and taking Muru out of silvermoon. However, if we had to have anything neat occur for the game I think the vote based progression servers would be neat too. Since it lets the community have more say in 'Hey we want this now please' cause it'd be funny to see the servers potentially just stop a certain patch and everyone gets confused.
to piggie back on that combine phasing and chromie, make it so you start in classic and then have to complete a bunch of requirements for chromie to "send" you into the next expansion. what those requirements would be isn't something if thought on because no matter what some people would be pissed or make it free or if you have completed a buch of stuff at level you get an achievements or something
I’d love a battle chest idea, where the first three expansions are all given legacy servers with pvp/pve realm for each. I think that if number of realms was kept low all 3 expansions could have a lively atmosphere. Not too hard to get 10k per realm if there are only 2 realms per expansion. That would only require a minimum of 60k for all 3 expansions and more realms could be added or removed as population stabilizes
It sounds like an interesting idea, though griefable. I don't understand how after like 5 years, people still ask if they are too late to start. Just play the game. If it's locked in stages, you will inevitably catch up with the crowd.
@@Frostgnaw well you need either a really kind guild or you gotta be there for the first raid, get geared, so you can go into the second, get geared, then so on and so forth.
I played Classic vanilla to Wrath and had a blast. Haven’t been playing cata though. If there was a classic reset from vanilla to cata, I’d be down for that! Might be interested in some kind of Classic+ as well.
I think the cycle server (Vanilla->TBC->WotLK) could work fine even with late-comers if you add some mild xp acceleration to previous expansions. So once it moves to TBC, you boost 1-60 xp gain by a moderate amount, not crazy retail levels but say 50% or so, enough for people to catch up. Then once it moves to WotLK you boost 1-70 xp. Expansions reset gear anyway. Honestly this was one of the better ideas from Season of Discovery phases. Hell they could even do it towards the end of the Vanilla phase, say once AQ gates open you boost 1-50 xp gain slightly. I'd like to see this cyclical server also incorporate the OSRS method of changes with overwhelming player votes. They have a plethora of vanilla+ features they have experimented with in SoD, so some of these could, over time, be added via player vote. Maybe on subsequent resets of the cycle (i.e. when WotLK ends and they reset to vanilla, hold votes for a few vanilla+ enhancements). The obvious ones are the QoL stuff like dual spec, guild banks, dungeon finder, etc but there's lots to choose from.
These xp boosts have been put into the game 15+ years ago already. Leveling a character to 60 in tbc takes far less time than in vanilla. I understand why you are proposing more acceleration, but for me it mostly makes levelling miserable when I have to cancel quests and zones constantly.
@@FernandoSmierlaep It's a balance really, between players like you who don't want the acceleration and the need to make sure the cycle still feels welcoming to players who join it "late."
They should do a 4-6 year cycle, where people play through vanilla, tbc and wotlk and once that ends, those characters can be moved to current. That way people don’t feel like they lose anything when there’s any resets. It would help more people get super old rare assets which would keep more people subbed imo
FEED BACK for classic+ - They need to unlocked all the locked maps in Azeroth and add new quest/story chains. - There are total 9 locked map in vanilla Azeroth (with isles) - They should add new dungeons and few new raids to some of these locked maps ofc. and design new items/gears fit to vanilla culture. - Some of people dont wanna see GDKP - Bots - Multiboxers - gold sellers and boosters. blizz should take this into consideration. - BARBERSHOP would be great in vanilla btw. (Except for gender reassignment) - We want to see the more lore from; The Great war to warcraft3 in vanilla Azeroth! - WE DONT WANNA PLAY WITH FCKN RETAIL SKILLS ofc! - We wanna see new races in line with the story of vanilla(warcraft). (maybe worgens cuz worgens shows in 2003 vanilla trailer. maybe high elves, maybe goblins or ogres idk) - More world boss and more wpvp events would be good ofc in line with the lore of vanilla. - Another arena would be great like grubashi with different chest or reward idk. - We dont want flying mounts and transmogs! - Paladin and Shaman classes should not be available to both factions. This breaks the vanilla culture! - We don't want the awful retail models! - We want just the real, completed vanilla! I am a 35 year old dad warcraft player, I have cleared vanilla twice before. I hope one day they will complete the unfinished vanilla and present it to us...
Have to be cautious with the new story/raids because newly added gears are usually too powerful and ruin the gear progression timeline. This destroyed SoD.
A classic era style server for each expansion that has a 1.5 year life spawn before doing a fresh wipe. Don't do progressive servers just let me pick which expansion I want to play when I want to play it. One server for each expansion with a war mode system so you don't further dilute between PvP and PvE and with faction balancing systems. In the long run it is the best decision IMO if the goal is to keep this content available for as long as WoW as a game exists.
Classic > TBC > Wrath rotation leaving behind era servers for each is the way forward. Once that final rotation has ended we will have all the options for legacy we need and development can focus on Classic+ / Retail which is obviously where I think the devs want to spend the most time.
I think my ideal version of a classic wow would be a combination of Vanilla, TBC and WotLK where there would be a level 60 cap, but all 3 expansions would be available within that level range, the raids and dungeons available would all be rebalanced to the same level ranges and available raids would rotate to a selection of 1 of each (tier1), (tier2/2.5) and (tier3) raids on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. For example, you could have a level 60 Molten core, Tempest Keep and ICC available 1 week, then level 60 Karazhan, Ulduar and Naxx40 the next, etc. These would all obviously give appropriately rebalanced level 60 gear based on their rough tier. You could also have heroic versions of the lower tier raids become available as each tier releases, that would bring them up to parity with the raid of the next tier up in order to promote more variety, and also potentially rework loot tables slightly ensure that each of the heroic version raid would have a piece or two of tier appropriate BiS for each class in order keep specific relevancy, which is ultimately optional but worthwhile in the long-term to continue running for those seeking to perfect their builds. Having the rotation in place would help with the issue most expansions run into where it ultimately just devolves into people just doing the most recent and highest level raid every week over and over again until people burn out. I think ultimately people want to be able to experience all the various 'classic' content, want the content to be relevant to their current progression, but also don't want to be stuck doing the same thing all the time, week by week. I think a rotating system like this would be the best for a long term Old-School WoW Complete experience, where all endgame content from each expansion would remain relevant, but not all be available at once to the point of being overwhelming or having certain pieces of content becoming redundant due to another piece of content that's always available being more efficient.
After playing classic Era again last year and SOD a few months after I just cannot go back to Retail. I tried but I'm not ashamed to say I am a classic Andy (Played every expansion but my heart beats for Classic content)
Just leave a few servers for each region online for each expansion, that would solve the private server problem as well, i dont get why they didnt do that in the first place, thats what I thought classic is gonna be all about after i heard of tbc coming out
yep, many people use pservers because of this tbh, the ywant "That" expac to play as it's their fave one or they fancy leveling and playing another for a few months. Perma realms, 1 or 2 only, would solve a lot of that.
@@marosmierka1904 nope, we got vanilla which then progressed to tbc then wotlk now cata, tbc wotlk are gone u only have season of discovery which is permanent that is vanilla but with modifications and the current expansion its progressed to.
blizzard just need to a classic 2019 that progresses into tbc and wrath, this isnt complicated. Knowing blizzard tho they will bring out fresh hardcore to cater to streamers and call it a job done.
@@GrendalWinsI do completely agree but I think that overall massively separating the player bases into 4 different types of classic puts their time into places that aren’t good for the game as a whole. I think that you can have the game be just as fun and not massively split the playerbase.
I’ve been wanting TBC since wrath came out 😢, I miss it so much, it’s one of the best versions of wow IMO next to vanilla ofc, I hope for TBC servers and I pray for classic +
TBC Classic Era server please. Small quality of life changes. No Wow token or xp boost. Make it a permanent evergreen server. Or if they did make it a progressive server, make it to where we can pay to have a copy of our character stay in TBC.
I think the best would be a classic server that will go over in classic+ at 60, with better tuning and new content, that we can keep playing in the next years.
I don't want another fresh classic or a hardcore server. I want Classic+ with new classic like content and updated graphics, powered by Unreal Engine. I guess the answer is that for a server with developers who care about the game, you have to go to private servers.
Give classic a graphical face lift, new zones, dungeons, raids, fine tunes class balancing and talents. Basically classic+ remastered. That’d be my ultimate goal.
Blizzard still stubbornly refuses to admit that they’ve screwed up the Warcraft franchise and that the original game (Vanilla/Era) is what people want. They simply WILL NOT acknowledge it because to do so would be to admit their failure.
How exactly? we just came out of the best expansion since Legion into another pretty decent one. TBC relaunch failed miserably numbers wise and so did Wrath. Vanilla servers and retail servers have been the only ones able to keep a steady playerbase. You people make zero sense 😂 if it were up to me I would keep relaunching Vanilla it’s the only one that makes sense. Cata is already failing too. I personally love Vanilla but TBC was very boring to me extremely over rated expansion
Hey Willi, huge fan here! Love your content. I think a rotational server would be awesome, and the one-year cycle sounds really reasonable. Permanent progression sounds great in theory, but I feel like most people enjoy that fresh start vibe more than the idea of having real permanent progression.
I think it's quite likely they'll announce a fresh Classic trilogy. But, the main difference would be that people can decide whether to stay on in whatever current expansion they are in (potentially with a paid option to duplicate your character to stay on or progress into the next expansion). This would satisfy a lot of people who want different expansions of the Classic trilogy. Also, it would remedy the situation where people otherwise just get boosted to level 58 (for TBC) and 68 (for Wrath), where people don't really 'deserve' to be at that level yet. I don't see why they wouldn't do it, but I could be wrong. Also will likely announce phase 6 for SoD and what happens with SoD servers longer term.
I would love Era servers and a rotating server that goes through the first 3. But something needs to be done about the ability to run dungeons/do group content solo. So much content is missed because the initial surge of people go through, then no one wants to run Mara or Uldaman anymore and ALL of that content is now dead.
I wouldn't know as I haven't really played it but I'd assume that's something HC wow fixes as a death results in a restart and players have to repeat those dungeons.
@@uh-ohspaghettio7826 yes, but also players are much more weary of dungeon pugs in HC because of the risk. Doubly so at the higher-but-not-max level dungeons, where the player population is always quite small.
Would love to see an AI companion system like retail has and some of the private servers have. So much content that never gets seen because of a lack of groups.
I imagine the most likely scenario is a refresh of the normal classic servers plus an announcement/reveal of new classic exclusive content, maybe a new raid or zone or smth.
I would say something that blizzard could do one day is make a classic server that kind of works like FF14. Something I appreciate after jumping to FF14 is you're able to start from the beginning of the story to the recent story. I know it'll be tricky because of the whole level squish they did, I think in either shadowlands or legion(?), but it would be cool to do a few servers where you can play through the whole of WoW.
just turn on a fresh vanilla server as soon as season of discovery ends. that leads into TBC but u can clone into classic era. then when tbc ends u can clone into tbc era. then just have it end in wrath era.
too many choices is 100% a bad idea, hope they consolidate and give us something that (while maybe its not perfect for everyone) is a unified direction
Personally the only thing that would bring me back (having played original TBC-Wrath P2 and the classic Vanilla-TBC-Wrath P2) is… TBC! Being a bit more busy IRL it would be great to have a version of TBC that is less time consuming (XP and rep boost and faster prog). We already know how to play it and would just love to be able to jump into the real action without the time sinks. But I appreciate that other people enjoy the original experience, just don’t think I’m able to invest so much time in the game, and there may be others in the same situation.
I really hope they do Mists of pandaria, I know we had the live event of Mop recently but that can't be compared to how it was in any way really. Mop really was my favourite expansion of all time, and doing it with the old talents and old progression would be fantastic.
they will probably announce classic +, classic with new features, probably dual spec:, some class balance(like rogue nerfs for pvp) and maybe some 1-2 new raids that are demon themed...
I don't know how people do it. I started classic when wrath came out, did HC when it came out, Did SoD for 2 phases... it gets so old running the same content again. Like Elwynn is the best starting zone but after running through it 15 times i never want to set foot in there again
This is how i would do it. First you make 3 mega realms a tbc a vannilla and a wotlk. Then after a year or maybe more you make 3 fresh realms. If you played in the vannilla realm you can transfer your char to the fresh tbc realm or you can stay at vanilla, like they did when tbc classic came out, maybe they can add to copy your char to both realms by paying. Anyway if you played to tbc you can transfer to wotlk fresh or stay at tbc and if you played wrath then you have no option than play in the old realm or play in a fresh realm. So the first 3 realms will be legacy realms that all of our characters will transfer to after the end of a season of every fresh and the second 3 realms will be season and they will get reseted after a year, or a year and a half. Most of Arpg games are made like that and i think it would work for classic wow too.
No matter what you fantasize, any addon has fans and therefore any addon will be asked to be turned into an era. However, it is obvious that if Blizzard did not take this path, then there are weighty arguments on their part.
The fresh servers do sound good, personally though its a shame blizz dont expand on these servers. Example: The cut content that didnt make the retail release of wrath should be included within that, any maybe advance the story into something new, maybe add the scourge faction within WoTLKC, The cut gundrak raid etc
Imagine a type of server/client, where you are lvl 80 in Northrend, then you get a portal to Shattrath. Now you're 70. Then you get a portal to IF/SW, you're now level 60. Gear and talents/spells adjusted or blocked for appropriately for the expansions they existed in. Three clients in one.
Bro the ideea of classic servers is so easy I dont understand why Blizzard dont do this: For example let's have 2 realms of vanilla classic (just for the example to be easy understood, they could make more realms). 1 realm that will reset every year. After the reset is done, all the characters should be moved to the other realm which should be a permanent one, no resets at all. So this way you can try every year a new start and also dont lose your old characters. This can be made on every other expansion. And in addition to this, they should give players the option to duplicate their characters for free (jk would be too cool for Blizz to do it for free) and 1 to remain on the "permanent no reset vanilla classic realm", and the other copy of your character to go to TBC classic. And just try this for other expansions...
I would not be interested in TBC classic without the new runes added by season of discovery. The runes made the gameplay of classic interesting for me.
if we split up all the classic versions the most difficult choice to me will be wich one i actually wanna play lol. i guess i will be going with wrath classic. bc was when i started the game and since i started around the release week of bc, i played a lot of bc till wrath came out, basically all of it. but most of my core wow memories are still from the wrath era cause thats the point where i joined a guild with people i remember to this day... even tho i only still talk to like 3 of them these days... i never forget all of you...
All we need is a rotational server that travels through from Vanilla to Wrath, with a new server starting up annually. That way you could eventually have people playing a toon in all 3 classic expansions and a decent platform for new players to get into classic (I don't view cata as true classic sorry).
I'd rly like to replay TBC with buffs to bad specializations, like letting Spriest's and Affliction's DoTs crit and benefit from haste. No SoD runes though, just sensible number tweaks to buff underperforming specs. Boomie and Ele need something too, boost all poor spec's scaling. Account-wide attunements too, to encourage alts and to increase the raiding population.
Honestly, if it actually launches, I expect TWoW 2.0 to cause more of a stir than anything Blizzard does with 1.x. Unless of course that forces their hand.
A surprise fresh server doesn't make sense at all. IF there IS going to be a fresh server, wouldn't they want to advertise it for months ahead just like everything else they release? I can't imagine them surprising us with a fresh - They would make it very clear it was happening beforehand imo.
Id like a classic til cata Repeating Fresh with at the end of each epac they get the option to continue that character or put it in storage til next next rotation gets to there. That way of you don't finish sunwell before wraith comes out you can save that char to pickup where you left off last time when tbc starts again

Tbc please
I just wanna play classic BC 😢

Prophetic😶🌫 Fresh next week hype!
So, my Era UI is going to continue to break every few weeks?
At this point, I just want a stable experience on the 20-year-old game version.
Willie is correct: TBC Fresh with patch time gates.
TBC & Wrath servers would be nice
They should do a 4-6 year cycle, where people play through vanilla, tbc and wotlk and once that ends, those characters can be moved to current. That way people don’t feel like they lose anything when there’s any resets. It would help more people get super old rare assets which would keep more people subbed imo
FEED BACK for classic+
- They need to unlocked all the locked maps in Azeroth and add new quest/story chains.
- There are total 9 locked map in vanilla Azeroth (with isles)
- They should add new dungeons and few new raids to some of these locked maps ofc. and design new items/gears fit to vanilla culture.
- Some of people dont wanna see GDKP - Bots - Multiboxers - gold sellers and boosters. blizz should take this into consideration.
- BARBERSHOP would be great in vanilla btw. (Except for gender reassignment)
- We want to see the more lore from; The Great war to warcraft3 in vanilla Azeroth!
- WE DONT WANNA PLAY WITH FCKN RETAIL SKILLS ofc!
- We wanna see new races in line with the story of vanilla(warcraft). (maybe worgens cuz worgens shows in 2003 vanilla trailer. maybe high elves, maybe goblins or ogres idk)
- More world boss and more wpvp events would be good ofc in line with the lore of vanilla.
All of this is pretty much what Turtle WoW is and then some.
Stop saying “We” like you talk for everyone. I don’t agree with everything u Said.
Go play fun server dad
Have to be cautious with the new story/raids because newly added gears are usually too powerful and ruin the gear progression timeline. This destroyed SoD.
one day we will have it bro. Here a 34 old daddy of 2 beatiful girls. I feel you
If we got official fresh classic servers again, i might just quit my job lmao
I think a rotating system like this would be the best for a long term Old-School WoW Complete experience, where all endgame content from each expansion would remain relevant, but not all be available at once to the point of being overwhelming or having certain pieces of content becoming redundant due to another piece of content that's always available being more efficient.
so not only you want fresh you want vanilla plus
they should add outlands pre illidan in for classic+ and northernd pre lich king with no flying mounts
i had this idea when i played on private servers
more or less just add HP and DMG of mobs in raids and change loot tables

that is exactly what i was thinking.
Perma realms, 1 or 2 only, would solve a lot of that.

blizzard just need to a classic 2019 that progresses into tbc and wrath, this isnt complicated. Knowing blizzard tho they will bring out fresh hardcore to cater to streamers and call it a job done.
They keep seperating the already stagnant playerbase, SOD feels like a big waste of time compared to what everyone thought it would be.
It's not a waste of time if you had fun spending it
@@GrendalWinsI do completely agree but I think that overall massively separating the player bases into 4 different types of classic puts their time into places that aren’t good for the game as a whole. I think that you can have the game be just as fun and not massively split the playerbase.
you do realise people are quitting instead of playing a version they dont like?
@@woogle5937 Agreed. You can't split a player base that is not there. Lots of people who are unsubbed right now who would come back for TBC.

TBC Classic Era server please. Small quality of life changes. No Wow token or xp boost. Make it a permanent evergreen server. Or if they did make it a progressive server, make it to where we can pay to have a copy of our character stay in TBC.
3 out of 5 of WillE's content is this. Sponsorship is a big motivator to speculate.
LF2M - dps and heals - wailing caverns , pst.

I think the best would be a classic server that will go over in classic+ at 60, with better tuning and new content, that we can keep playing in the next years.
A fresh HC would be the dumbest thing ever
5:52 you forgot MoP remix
I don't want another fresh classic or a hardcore server. I want Classic+ with new classic like content and updated graphics, powered by Unreal Engine. I guess the answer is that for a server with developers who care about the game, you have to go to private servers.
Classic TBC please but with all the quality of life things that previous servers have implemented. - gdkp ban, faction balance, anti mage boost etc
What I think will happen for classic in 2024? Nothing
However a certain 'remaster' of classic in 2025 has me *very* excited to play classic again!
A fresh classic > tbc server without boosting but bonus xp in close lvl parties would be amazing imo.
Start fresh, progress to TBC, then Wrath. Allow people to keep their Chars somehow.
Hey Willi, huge fan here! Love your content. I think a rotational server would be awesome, and the one-year cycle sounds really reasonable. Permanent progression sounds great in theory, but I feel like most people enjoy that fresh start vibe more than the idea of having real permanent progression.
They should have open realms for all expansions, giving you an option to migrate when you want. That way you can enjoy the games in your own pace.
I'm not really into WoW lately, but a *tBC fresh* might be the only thing I would gladly participate in.
Litterally been asking for a rotational system including (vanilla - tbc - wotlk), since there were first talks and rumours about a tbc classic release
I feel like the time is fine for a fresh. We're already at Cata, which a lot of players don't consider classic.
@@bawfuls Ah, I see. That's a good point. How is HC nowadays? Is it quite populated?
Unless a server is literally dead I never really had problems finding dungeon groups. Requires some work and time though ofc
Would love to see an AI companion system like retail has and some of the private servers have.
So much content that never gets seen because of a lack of groups.
I need a fresh TBC or vanilla with phases again
I imagine the most likely scenario is a refresh of the normal classic servers plus an announcement/reveal of new classic exclusive content, maybe a new raid or zone or smth.
TBC Fresh i think will be a hit.
I got back i to wow for tbc classic. That journey was so incredible to relive.
Is the description off or is it just me?
Can we just get a wow 2 which is more relatable to classic then retail
TBC era servers would be amazing
just turn on a fresh vanilla server as soon as season of discovery ends. that leads into TBC but u can clone into classic era. then when tbc ends u can clone into tbc era. then just have it end in wrath era.
too many choices is 100% a bad idea, hope they consolidate and give us something that (while maybe its not perfect for everyone) is a unified direction
I want to see a fresh classic re-run with new quests, dungeons and items (that are fitting with the classic style and don't supersede everything)
I really hope they do Mists of pandaria, I know we had the live event of Mop recently but that can't be compared to how it was in any way really. Mop really was my favourite expansion of all time, and doing it with the old talents and old progression would be fantastic.
Fresh classic and a run through wrath would be great. It’s been enough time.
they will probably announce classic +, classic with new features, probably dual spec:, some class balance(like rogue nerfs for pvp) and maybe some 1-2 new raids that are demon themed...
We also had MoP remix too in this time
What we need is servers per expansion and the ability to copy character to the next expansion when we want.
I have not watched a video from you in a while and the title hooked me. Also the content of the video was very insightful. W

Bro the ideea of classic servers is so easy I dont understand why Blizzard dont do this:
For example let's have 2 realms of vanilla classic (just for the example to be easy understood, they could make more realms).
The something new should be that insect swarm can be casted in moonkin form. Like why the hell not....?
Waiting for Project Epoch to drop so I can get off this hamster wheel of seasonal servers!
Lol please this will be the year Blizzard falls back. Lots of AAA coming out and their Dev talent pool is terrible.
I would not be interested in TBC classic without the new runes added by season of discovery. The runes made the gameplay of classic interesting for me.
Season of dicovery was great but the community unfortunately was shit.
Blizzard need to partner up with content creators and make them GM's! Also, TBC fresh when?
if we split up all the classic versions the most difficult choice to me will be wich one i actually wanna play lol. i guess i will be going with wrath classic. bc was when i started the game and since i started around the release week of bc, i played a lot of bc till wrath came out, basically all of it. but most of my core wow memories are still from the wrath era cause thats the point where i joined a guild with people i remember to this day... even tho i only still talk to like 3 of them these days... i never forget all of you...
A hard core tbc then wrath release would be pretty sweet
All we need is a rotational server that travels through from Vanilla to Wrath, with a new server starting up annually. That way you could eventually have people playing a toon in all 3 classic expansions and a decent platform for new players to get into classic (I don't view cata as true classic sorry).
Would instantly resup for Era servers
OR
Yearly fresh server launches with time gating
I'd rly like to replay TBC with buffs to bad specializations, like letting Spriest's and Affliction's DoTs crit and benefit from haste. No SoD runes though, just sensible number tweaks to buff underperforming specs. Boomie and Ele need something too, boost all poor spec's scaling. Account-wide attunements too, to encourage alts and to increase the raiding population.
Honestly, if it actually launches, I expect TWoW 2.0 to cause more of a stir than anything Blizzard does with 1.x. Unless of course that forces their hand.
TBC HYPE TBC HYPE
A surprise fresh server doesn't make sense at all. IF there IS going to be a fresh server, wouldn't they want to advertise it for months ahead just like everything else they release? I can't imagine them surprising us with a fresh - They would make it very clear it was happening beforehand imo.
Id like a classic til cata Repeating Fresh with at the end of each epac they get the option to continue that character or put it in storage til next next rotation gets to there. That way of you don't finish sunwell before wraith comes out you can save that char to pickup where you left off last time when tbc starts again
Fresh or classic plus with addons disallowed and no world buffs would be nice.
