I used the free lvl 1-22 version during Fresh. It's not designed for leveling your first character on a realm. You will have very little bag space for vendor trash, which is your main source of gold while leveling. At level 21, I still had quest items in my bag from level 15.
I disagree that they should speed up the time line and release everything fast with seasonal servers. It's based on vanilla after all and the game was slow paced and should remain that way. It's not a rush to do raids and content, it's to enjoy the journey. As someone who played through SoD since p1 and still playing, I enjoyed the phase content lasting how much they did. If Blizz said they release vanilla servers that go from level 1 to Naxx in about 6 months, I don't think I would play them.
The issue is that I know a lot of people, including myself, who are actually tired of doing the same journey over and over again. Even if you mix it up with a "new" class/spec/leveling "route" etc, some things will just always stay the same, especially concerning moving around the world feeling like a slog. With nothing new to chase as a carrot to get through the leveling, I'm just not that excited to do the same classic cycle yet AGAIN. And don't get me wrong, I enjoy leveling in classic, I prefer it to the way it works in retail by a lot, I just feel fatigue doing it all for the 20th time. I definitely don't think that a super fast release cadence for the same 6 classic phases over and over again is a good idea, so I agree on that aspect.
@@PhilerinoBTW I agree with you. I feel the same way towards fresh right now. I enjoy SoD and don't want to do the same content in fresh atm becaues I've done it multiple times and I just think it's time to take a break from vanilla until I feel that itch to play again. I'm more excited to play tbc, wrath and then eventually move on to other games. That's completely normal. I just want the game to stay the same once I return and re-experience vanilla.
@@sticknbox6157 I think you've just completed the game buddy. No need to force yourself to play it over and over again. Play other games and enjoy other stuff. :)
As a new player I’m pretty stoked to redo all the “recycled” content from back then, I have a guild already and they’re helping me out a lot getting my priest to lvl 60 so we can enter the dark portal together. I’ve never had a gaming experience with so much community before
@@Obliviell it might be massive cope, but a great classic+ can carry its weight in the western market for its unique position without microtransactions. The game can be good, the world lore is rich, it can be so much more.

@@joeyholubeck7066 Yeah not shit Sherlock, I was taking about a permanent TBC realm. I won't start subscribe again before I know for sure that I will be able to keep my characters in a perma TBC realm without them getting moved to WOTLK.
every youtuber says things should be released faster. But then, the items you get become more irrelevant. Farming 3 weeks for something you switch out after 12 weeks already? In this mentality the focus of the game moves from getting cool stuff to making the existing challenges in relativily short time. I instead like the gear focused aproach more, where you are motivated to go so often to raid cause it will give you something semi permanent. Sure thing smust pass and i felt the boringnes of p11 my self but the focus of people who outplayed the game on ptr, cleared everything week 1 and than say uh this must go faster? No thanks, that didn't feel well.
So you're saying that keeping the same item for 4 months is...good? If you're placing value on the item because it took you 3 weeks to grind, then you're looking at it wrong. The issue is that it took you 3 full weeks to get said item, not that you replace it in 4 months (which is way too long to not progress anyway). Vanilla is too slow, too imbalanced, and the gear is shit
I agree. I wish they would release content more slowly. It feels like some people have nothing else to do and play vanilla all day 12hr. I would enjoy playing it chill 2hr at a time. New raid comes out -> progression -> enjoy raid logging and gearing up, leveling alts, playing other games, doing other stuff and then back to progression.
@@Brandonfromkyand for these reasons there are a lot of players waiting till TBC to start playing. Many are going to skip Vanilla altogether. Personally I am enjoying the leveling and the game but if it were any slower i would lose my mind.
This is a braindead comment. People who ACTUALLY play the game and raid want things to go faster because we get tired of doing the same farm status raid for too long. Of course it doesn't apply to you because you're a shitter. How is 12 weeks with an item even bad lmao? Not to mention vanilla and tbc have items from the starting raids, such as Gruuls lair and molten core, that are in demand for the entirety of the game.
Classic+ is tbc. It has more viable specs and new content, and still preserves the spirit of vanilla. The only thing I dislike about it is that it splits the player base between two worlds. I like to see max levels running around in the old world zones while leveling. It makes for a more immersive experience.
@@egemenozan5641 hearthstone used to be good but it is sooo ass these days man. i cant even enjoy arenas anymore, every deck has cards that just win the game instantly regardless of board state
To keep it simple I just hope they go down the Jagex model with Runescape - RS3 vs OSRS. I would love it to eventually just be Retail vs WoW Classic+ with maybe some seasonal fun servers like OSRS does.
Problem with the OSRS model in wow is that we have factions and they naturally disagree on certain issues. Buffing paladins? You already know most of the Horde will reject that, and vice versa for shamans. The model can work, but needs more than just a copy paste.
I'm hoping the content gets more than 12 months, that would be far too short (at least for vanilla). 2019 vanilla was 19mo, 6mo of that being Naxx. Chop off 3-4 months off the end and it would be perfect. Each expansion should get 15mo at a minimum.
I'd say 18 months is about right. Vanilla was originally 26 months, though that was a little long in the tooth. Classic wasn't far off ideal, most mid level guilds were just about clearing Naxx at that 19 month point. 11-12 months is just a hard no for me.
I completely disagree with you on season servers (SoD in particular) . I blame streamers for the reason gold buying is so common because, even as you stated, things move to slow thus pushing for end game to happen faster. If you are old school such as I am then you should know that is a retail attitude . The classic experience up to and through Wrath was about leveling and earning gold to better your character with pots/flasks, food, some gear, leveling professions, mount(s), talents, respecing (if necessary) and other useful items. All this took place before you even got to raid. All this took TIME, which most people don't have and can't play 20 hours a day and get paid to it. Since steamers have started preaching about how fasts they have to/ are getting to max level to raid all while revealing their very plentiful gold amount and items that should be to expensive/or impossible to make at certain levels. the bigger demand for gold buying the more bots, the more bots the worse the game becomes and the more toxic. The attitude of then becomes "you are not as good as us" because they bought their way to the top and you didn't dominates the servers. You want to fix the game get rid of the bots and Blizzard should DELETE any account that gets caught botting or buying /selling gold.
Agree! The era servers are such a great idea for my personal play style, I wish they add TBC ERA and WOTLK ERA and I hope they don’t hide them behind another C+ paywall!
My maybe hot take is that it isn't as much work to make Legion, BfA, and even Shadowlands something players would be interested in. These expansions all featured tedious and annoying borrowed power systems, but all the systems were more or less fixed by the end of the expansion. Last patch of these expansions, with vendors and catch up mechanics all worked fairly well, and didn't require as much time investment. Blizzard would absolutely need to make adjustments to the games to make the borrowed borrow systems either easy and quick to interact with, or just entirely remove them. Now will they do that? Probably not. But I don't imagine it would actually be that much work.
There's also people who started properly in classic and they deserve to have the chance to progress if they like, and even better if they get to do it in the best version of each one. Not to mention people who missed specific ones - I didn't get a chance to play as much in Legion, for example.
"People have grown sick of [Retail Expansions], so they have been clambering for vanilla/TBC/WotLK, you know, classic WoW...let's walk down that same slippery slope of all the expansions that made retail the Retail they all wanted to escape and call it "Classic" [Retail style xpac] hahahahahahaha"
To be honest, I think they should make different launchers for each version. Separating: - Retail - Classic+ - Classic Seasons - Classic Era - Expansion X Era (all of them being separated) So every now and then they might start a progression server that goes through expansions where you choose whether you want to let your character stay on the Era servers of that expansion or send them to the next one when the time comes. This way you can continue playing just the versions you like or doing the entire progression. And separating the Classic versions makes it difficult to bleed some changes into servers that shouldn't happen. Also, I don't know if the seasons are Classic+. Everyone says different things about what the Classic+ should be. If yes then merge it
I believe from now on we will have a server (era) for each game: classic, tbc and wotlk...this is what I speculate it will happen and sincerely it will be the greatest thing!
At this point they should just have separate servers ending at a certain expansion. Classic is going through the expansions. Now Classic anniversary. Which I am excited cuz the burning crusade was my favorite expansion. But what I like about Classic Hardcore is there is an end. I don't have to rush to the end thinking the end will just get further and further away. No there is an actual end to get to. Making the journey more enjoyable than the destination. As for your Classic Plus idea. I would love if they kept Classic but gave us all the positives of the later expansions. The worlds to explore. The small changes to how things work like auto attacking and mail being instant. The art. The quests. All they have to do is not take the same route as retail and keep the nice and slow pace. Make me feel like my time matters. Make professions matter. Make the game fun again.
I would still love to see both vanilla and TBC content but with WotLK class design and talents. The only changes that would be needed would be backporting higher level abilities into lower level spell ranks (so that specs aren't missing core abilities).
Lots of players too, I play on Wild Growth NA and there's always groups for most things. Unless it's really low level like 20-30 you could struggle to find groups. But 40+ it's quite populated.
I'm currently looking at my wow future. I am having fun in cata classic currently and with mop on the way that's great. I am slowly leveling a few toons in classic classic to get ready for possibly tbc and 100% for wrath. I plan on jumping off after or during mop for wrath
This is effectively what Everquest does with its progression servers. They release a new one once a year usually, and usually with varrying rule sets too to keep things fresh and interesting for the format. I expect this is what WoW Classic will move to with the "anniversary" servers especially given Holly Longdale is at the helm of WoW in general atm (She worked on Everquest most of her career. Also why I think player housing is finally happening.) Essentially just drop a new WoW classic refresh ever other year probably with a new ruleset to keep things interesting. Something else Everquest progression servers did on some of them I find interesting is they let the community vote on whether the game moved to the next expansion or not. I think this idea isnt a bad one for some WoW classic progression servers as it would let some progress beyond Wrath if the community wants it to rather than an endless cycle of Classic, TBC, Wrath. Classic+ Im curious to see how it might go though. I think it has potential but it could also fall flat. Entirely depends on both how Blizzard handles it, and how the community approaches it. I also think it could run the risk of biting into the retail content too much if they're not careful so I do think it wont be as big as most might expect. As for seasonal servers, I dont think Discovery will be the last one. I think seasonal servers might progress beyond Classic. A TBC Season of Discovery esque server or the like would be something I think they can do. or Season of Mastery TBC. Or something new entirely. They have a lot to play with in terms of seasonal content that can go beyond just Classic, and I think thats probably what they are looking at next.
The original trilogy is like every great RPG experience. Great act 1, brilliant act 2, rocky act 3 but manages to stick the landing. That’s how I see vanilla, tbc and wrath. Everything after is mediocre in terms of RPG.
Vanilla-TBC-Wrath from now until infinity along with classic plus that has its foundations in SoD but this time with ALL NEW content (dungeons, raids, etc) needs to be the future of classic. No other way around it. Classic plus will be the "modern" version of classic and then you have a seasonal vanilla/tbc/wotlk going on and on into infinity.
I think constant refreshes is the way to go. But I really think they should avoid going past wrath at this point. If they can keep classic/tbc/and wrath together I think alot of people including the private server people will be happy.
I am absolutely loving the time I'm spending on Fresh. I've been chatting with others in the various PUGs I've been in, and while nearly everyone is looking forward to TBC, a LOT of them hope that either it stops in TBC, or Blizzard gives the option to move to a permanent TBC-only realm. It's apparent that if Blizz does a Vanilla -> TBC -> Wrath cycle, they're going to have to have a permanent Wrath realm where everyone ends up. I'd like to see one of each expansion have a permanent realm. I'd like to see character cloning to the next higher expansion, or to the progression realm AT THE PREPATCH FOR THE NEXT LEVEL. (I would expect the cloning to be a paid feature.) That way, a casual guild could have FOUR years to clear TBC content before moving to a fresh Wrath realm.
I'm a bit worried about Cata Classic. Not at the current state but for its future. Looking at the road map if we assume Dragon Soul releases as late as possible during that winter window we have a minimum of 6 months of that raid. More if DS comes early or MoP isn't released at the earliest possible point of autumn. So at a very minimum half a year of nothing. During that phase Cata will see one update, MoP pre-patch which would give us talent and ability reworks, a short Theramore story, the Pandaren starting zone and monks. Meanwhile Anniversary realms will see a majority of it's phases (2,3,4 and 5) release. That's BWL, ZG and AQ in addition to world bosses and all battlegrounds. And all the Cata/MoP content will be towards the end as it is a pre-patch so 2-6 weeks before MoP is a likely time period based on history, I don't see us somehow getting 3 months of pre-patch out of nowhere when it's not a massive pre-patch. Cata had a big savior as a lot of guilds that lost players during the long wait could temper the fear of falling apart by adjusting to 10 man. Meanwhile a lot of Cata 10 man guilds who will loose players during the long wait will be in a rough spot and fall apart. I know we had a long between ICC release and Cataclysm (I'll not pretend Ruby Sanctum was a worthwhile extension of content) but ICC was beloved and hyped up while Dragon Soul is known to be on the weak end and having a particularly bad set of end boss encounters. Lich King can hold peoples interest for much longer than Madness or Spine. It was also much bigger with 12 bosses compared to only 8. ICC was 1.5 times the size of DS in terms of boss count (we can take Gunship out and slot Ruby Sanctum in in terms of content). That helped a lot of slower guild have content to do during that time and the variety is better. If there is anything in need of a speed up it would be Classic Cata->MoP. I do not like that MoP proper has a window of September-November (Autumn months) 2025. Even a change to July-August would ease my mind a lot.
Walked away when Cata Started as the characters I had would NOT be the same under Cata and lack all the qualities I enjoyed. The Cookie Cutter Builds ruin them. Its dead to me as Cata and not installed on my machine. I'll play in Vanilla and Dabble in Fresh but Fresh looks trashed economically by Bots, Gold Sellers and Hidden GDKPs that the Bliz team are not shutting down as they promised.
Classic ended with WotLK.. with change of Azeroth for me and many people I play and talk. If they rotate Vanilla, TBC, Wrath again and again I will don´t mind. If they make TBC era and WotLK era servers.. yes please! Classic Plus: not sure about this but as long as they keep base game without changes (Vanilla) and just added new zones and content that would fit the 2004 feel, I would at least try it :) There is sooo much from the Lore that Blizz didn´t adress in-game back then and surely they can work on it now.
Great video but disagree that they should have sped up Season of Discovery. Yeah they could have shaved off a few weeks, but it was nice that you didn't have to rush to the end game. Classic is all about the leveling/journey, so it was true to that. Plus the items you get would become irrelevant even faster, which wouldn't feel good. I might be in the minority but SoD has been my favorite version of WoW to date. Classes are more balanced, the new raid/dungeon content was pretty cool, and the world feels really alive with people. Fingers crossed for Classic+ in the future :)
I quit SoD bc it didnt have a direction. Since they have gotten a good idea of what releasing Classic + will look like they will be very strategic when released. The “trilogy” of Van/TBC/WoTLK is great especially bc everyone is doing the same timeline. Imo they will end up opening servers up for each era so people have a place to take their characters but that will split the players up in the long run and there wont be another fresh like this. Classic + will be the replacement in all its excitement and hype. No I haven’t played it yet and I’m sure it will be fun but for me this fresh release going back into TBC AND WOTLK Classic eill always be my forever ❤
I’m really hoping for a Cata fresh - legion cycling one day. I know it’s a low chance but after wrath wow feels so different, in some good ways some bad that it would be cool to see a fresh Cata server cycle since it did completely change leveling.
SoD phase 1 was the most fun I've had in wow in a very long time. They might have went a little overboard with the power creep but it was awesome having so many specs viable in a classic setting. I think they also screwed up making the gear from BFD so good. Having level locked phases was a complete win but they dragged each phase out a little too long. They killed it for me with incursions.. I don't know what they were thinking. I'd also support a daily lockout on dungeons while leveling like they have on HC realms.
I just want to play on a vanilla wow server that doesn’t progress to TBC. If I start on a 2019 realm will that be the case? Is this new classic anniversary server the only one that’ll go TBC end of next year?
They have classic era servers already. These are permanent vanilla forever and will never progress to TBC. The Anniversary realms WILL progress to TBC next year.
I want them to keep a permanent server for each expac for anniversary servers, and then we copy our characters to the next expac one time after release... and then tweak achievements to be across these "legacy" expansion servers so you can only earn them on the corresponding expansion's era.
You had me until you spoke about SoD. I stopped in Phase 3 bc it was boring and the raid was way too hard. Phase 1 was perfect. Multiple toons to 25 and you could raid and get most of the gear fairly easy. Phase 2 with gold sinks and harder content dropped people to one character and then it was too much. I feel like the amount of time between phases was fine. It was the odd extra events and making the raids way too hard for classic is what killed that season.
Progressing Sunken Temple was one of the best WoW experiences I’ve had in a long time. Our whole guild was so locked in on figuring the puzzle out together. How can a raid be boring and too hard?
@@cosmicwinters Where exactly did WillE say that the Sunken Temple raid was unnecessarily difficult? I am also pretty certain he said that the phases progressed way too slowly, whereas this commenter thinks the pacing was good. Please tell me how these are the same opinion.
I've never played WOW until a couple days ago and I just started on the anniversary realms. Maybe I'm just confused but I don't want to lose my character I made if I end putting 100 hours + into that character. Am I misunderstanding what will happen?
MoP is my go to expansion since im of the younger generation who still likes WoW, I really want it to stay on MoP for a while when it launches so we can experience it all over again and maybe stop there and add servers for every expansion to see what people prefer for themselves.
I stopped playing classic at Cata because I wanted them to keep the classic leveling in effect, just make the skill trees longer. Would love to see that happen.
Opposite affect for me. I played since the original, I burned out on retail because it was no longer the game I loved. It got too fast, too spammy, and too end-game oriented. I missed the slow leveling, slow dungeons you sat to drink after each pull, and the experience of being in a huge world. So I quit retail. Classic brought me back, and that’s where I stay. Retail is just a total trash game to me at this point.
No idea if its true but I dropped retail like hot shit and never touched it again after 2019 lmao I have XIV if I want engaging endgame content and good gearing systems.
@IngeniousNinja Personally I really miss ARR for XIV. Im kinda looking at DT the same way that WoW Classic players look at retail and its really making me yearn for a time long since passed.
@@phlash65-5 retail can be very fun but i see it more as an arcade game (with way too many time-consuming responsibilities added in) than an MMO. Classic is the real MMO, even if it can be lacking in engaging gameplay at times
@@IngeniousNinja Same lol. Started playing when BFA released, but havent really touched retail since 2019. In retail there is way too much ability bloat. In Classic your abilities have weight to it. Kinda disappointing to see theyre doing the same mistake in SoD... But let them cook til they get it right
Seems the 3 fav xpac rotation is a guarantee at this point. Question is how often will the cycle restart and will it be able to pull everyone back each time? I almost want WoD to happen just for the memes, but I think it's obvious that it probably wont do well since classic servers rely on nostalgia and idk who has nostalgia for that xpac at this point.
@@UserrHD community is already divided on retail/classic/cata/seasonal/hardcore, just adding 2 or 3 realms per expancion wont do harm, quite the contrary, i would say groups of frinds, even whole guilds will try every exp together
People complain about the class balancing in vanilla WoW, but i have to disagree. Hear me out - The idea of 'class balancing' is driven by the idea of solo'ing the game... but it's an MMO. The entire core concept of it's existence is built on the idea that people *need to team up*. From that perspective, i think the balance is perfect. Each class is meant to fill gaps in other class builds, and through that you build a lethal harmony. If you expect to play an MMO on single player mode, you should fully *expect* to have a bad time.
I see no reason why expansions beyond WotLK wouldn't happen again, no real basis to assume we get vanilla - tBC - WotLK rotation. Will they release new classic start every 5 years for it to end up in retail / near retail? I think it's more likely
After playing turtle wow, we truly need an official classic plus servers with new content added in vanilla style…to bring back that sense of exploration
My classic plus theory is that it will be a premium product. The assets, character models, and character animations will be remastered, and it will be sold as a remaster with new quest content and updated class design to be closer to TBC or Wrath. SOD showed that the interest in this sort of product is sky high. Microsoft is not going to leave that sort of money making potential on the floor. WOW also has an age issue. Modern graphical updates and less rigid class design would be far more likely to find new younger customers. There is a monetization issue too. A premium price does some work, but It'll need more revenue to justify dev time. There's a monetization approach that players will thank blizzard for. Integrate hearthstone into world of warcraft.
Playing warlock for the first time ever in Classic has pretty fun. My only real goal right now is to get to 60, maybe do a couple raids and get my Dreadsteed mount. Other than that, I’m kinda just waiting for TBC and Wrath.
Tbh if they're going to bother with something like Classic+ then they might as well take it one step further and release "WoW 2" in a new engine with new class design.
The next five years will be more bastard remixes of classic featuring crayon coloring all over mona lisa in order to generate “newness hype” for tourists and line blizzards pockets because the current team cannot create anything new that is worth while since legion. They continue to eat off the old devs philosophy and hardwork while grifters make what if videos
In this comment thread, you will find: People agreeing SoD phases are too long, people disagreeing SoD phases are too long. People who want permanent TBC era servers, people who want permanent Wrath servers, people who want an endless cycle of vanilla-tbc-wrath releases, people who want "classic+", and so so many more random requests relating to the different versions of this game. It's not like this is some revelation or anything, as this has been pointed out many times before, but the wow community is so incredibly fractured and wants so many different things that anything Blizzard does do will be hated by many and liked by a few. It's so strange how quickly retail went back to being the best version of wow once there were 6 different versions of the game available.
Here’s what I think is going to happen. WoW 2 is incoming after this trilogy. The world we know it will be destroyed, and WoW 2 will be released. Classic will catch up to the end of WoW Retail. Classic will become an old world version alongside WoW 2, and you can choose which world you want to play in.
I think a toned down approach to classes compared to SoD but keeping the phases like that and rather than expansion just make them more phases while adding new content would be great classic+. SO we would get TBC and wrath in classic+ but it would be treated like another phase of content and that increases level cap. Obviously balancing that would get tough though.
I honestly don't think they will do Classic+ at this point. I think at best, Retail WoW gets a big overhaul (graphics update, etc) and they release "Pristine" servers that have some significant, classic-like changes and is how they plan to get classic players into the more modern version of the game.
Fond memories of playing classic when it was first released, I wish I still had time to play classic when they re release it but between work, partner and life I don’t think I can commit, have fun everyone who jumps on though!
Honestly what they should do is turn SoD into Classic+ because the format is already there. They’ve already implemented changes that you would think be a fit for it. Like they’ve already said we’re getting a Scarlet Instance and stuff in Deadwind Pass after Naxx so why not just build on it more instead of letting it die afterwards
Absolutely not. SoD with the broken economy and it‘s problems can stay a season. It‘s just a season after all. According go the roadmap in 2025 it won’t be getting any new updates. If Classic+ happens it‘ll be on new servers
Vanilla is the most popular thing, sure, but TBC still has a LOT of fans, and they dropped SoM not long after launching TBC. I think that's why SoM didn't get as much attention as it could now. A lot of players who would potentially enjoy SoM were locked in and focused on TBC. It was just bad timing.
They ruined SoD when they introduced 25-man raids. That completely killed soooo many smaller guilds that had to either recruit or merge, which was impossible in some servers. Keep 10 man raids and tweak raids according to that, and you’ll have a game that never dies.
The sheer amount of different servers is ridiculous, and feels very messy. Jagex have done a phonomenal job with RS and OSRS. Maybe Blizzard can take some pointers? Admittedly I'm very much enjoying the Anniversary, but I'm curious to see what direction Blizzard goes in with WoW.
I don't think classic and retail merge will happen anytime soon. They will keep releasing expansions until there is not much interest in replaying them. I don't think many want to replay WoD but many (myself including) want to replay Legion. After that it will be either Legion Era server or they can try and release BfA and leave it there. I would prefer it if they leave it at Legion. It offers enough replayability with its Class Halls. I think after Classic Anniversary has run through WOTLK, there will be another seasonal release - like SoD but with fewer abilities and better balance.
Honestly, I started in MOP and then did proper raiding in WOD, to me they’re the most important expansions. I mained MW monk and when legion came I couldn’t really play as I had a really annoying DC bug and just quit. I also didn’t really like the fact they completely removed the Chi mechanic. I do see them slowly releasing the expansions until we merge with retail, as to me that makes sense, it allows players to experience the entire game again instead of basically rushing through everything and having no clue of the history of the game. I played some classic which to me was too slow, but cata leveling to me feels good. And looking at the guild I’m in, there’s definitely still more players slowly coming into cata classic, most of which are indeed preparing to play MoP.
I think the anniversary realms are good paced and I wouldnt consider them seasonal as they are just release classic, sure its for the billionth time but still. But I played sod in p1 and p2. Didnt take p1 that seriously but in p2 mechagon I did. I got like 1 or 2 99 parses. And I wouldve loved to push more in p3. But they made the raids 20 man..... i played with 7 other people, only ever pugged another healer and dps. So 20 man meant we needed to find a consistent group to play with, and then it also became a weekly lockout, meaning we couldn't have just done it whenever we wanted, it was set a time and do it. So I quit soon after i hit 50 and went back to retail. I think the pacing couldve been faster, but I still wasn't max geared by the end of the p2 so I didnt mind it. But yes, seasonal shouldnt be long, it shouldnt be more than 6 months.
Bring back Vanilla Classic with original mechanics and dungeons or as possible to the initial flavor. Bring back reasons for interaction with other players and dungeons like original Dire Maul, Sunken Temple and Stratholme. I miss being chill out in voice chat with friends setting aside 1+ hr to run dungeons with bosses that were worth killing for gear/mats. Heck, bring back keys and quest chains that required teamwork to get everyone on the same part of the chain.
Don't like the merge idea. Just make classic eventually be "last before retail expansion" and thats it. Classic Df when Tww release, classic tww when Midnight releases, etc.
Season of discovery being a year long is fine in my opinion. Classic’s pacing isn’t like Diablo. The basis of classic is leveling and the journey. If they made it too short it’d feel like retail and would further emphasize rushing to end game.
My hope is that we can transfer to classic era at the end of the anniversary realms, then after TBC has finished, I hope they use the chance to create TBC era servers, and allow you to either stay there or move onto wrath, and then of course Wrath era servers after that. My long term hope is that once there are 3 Era servers for the original trilogy, they start a new cycle every few years, lets say for arguments sake, 1 year after the final phase of Wrath, you can either park up in Wrath era or start over in Phase 1 vanilla, I would like them to leave that as a permanent cycle in order to preserve the old games. I am a huge advocate for game preservation and I find it a shame that it is currently not possible to play TBC or Wrath. With other games I and i'm sure many others like to revisit them from time to time, it would be nice to have them there to access when I want. I have no argument pushing classic as far forward as people want it, though I think WoD will need to have a short run time to be viable, maybe try and restore some of its infamous cut content but for me, the first 3 eras are all I want really, Blizzard have a huge audience for WoW, I dont see why they cant just leave 1 mega server per expac and let people play what and when they want.
Fresh classic yearly is good, and it should allow for the option to move to TBC and option to move to wrath. To keep TBC and wrath open 👐😺 would be good.
I don't think many people wanted a rotating server with a rapid phase rollout. At least on era most of the people I know wanted a TBC era server (and a few also a WotLK server).
I have enjoyed SoD alot besides phase 3 but I hope some sort of iteration of classic+ is tried out in the future. If not who really cares cause PoE2 comes out friday.

I definitely don't think that a super fast release cadence for the same 6 classic phases over and over again is a good idea, so I agree on that aspect.
after playing sod since release, going back through all these zones i was level locked to and got to know really well has been so cool :)

well TBC and wrath were both garbage compared to vanilla so that's probably why they wont ever be a thing.
every youtuber says things should be released faster.
@@Kshaadoo Vast majority of people do not play wow like you do, so we shouldn't adapt it to people like you.

Classic+ is tbc. It has more viable specs and new content, and still preserves the spirit of vanilla. The only thing I dislike about it is that it splits the player base between two worlds. I like to see max levels running around in the old world zones while leveling. It makes for a more immersive experience.

I would love it to eventually just be Retail vs WoW Classic+ with maybe some seasonal fun servers like OSRS does.
I just dont get why theyre Not trying a "season of Community polls" yet? Maybe they wanna save that for the Last season
Problem with the OSRS model in wow is that we have factions and they naturally disagree on certain issues. Buffing paladins? You already know most of the Horde will reject that, and vice versa for shamans. The model can work, but needs more than just a copy paste.
I'll be retired in 4-5 years so a new Classic+ about that time would be perfect. I'll be dead at the keyboard when my toon stops moving. ☠💀☠
I don’t want to be “The Hero of Azeroth. I want to be A hero IN Azeroth.

Separating:
- Retail
- Classic+
- Classic Seasons
- Classic Era
- Expansion X Era (all of them being separated)
So every now and then they might start a progression server that goes through expansions where you choose whether you want to let your character stay on the Era servers of that expansion or send them to the next one when the time comes. This way you can continue playing just the versions you like or doing the entire progression. And separating the Classic versions makes it difficult to bleed some changes into servers that shouldn't happen.
Also, I don't know if the seasons are Classic+. Everyone says different things about what the Classic+ should be. If yes then merge it
I believe from now on we will have a server (era) for each game: classic, tbc and wotlk...this is what I speculate it will happen and sincerely it will be the greatest thing!
hope so
Hi Will!
It's sad to consider that Cata Classic may _never_ happen again. I've been enjoying it a lot so far.
SoD is the most fun it's ever been rn tbh, definitely recommend giving it a try again if you quit in p3
I quitted in P5. What has changed
Lots of players too, I play on Wild Growth NA and there's always groups for most things. Unless it's really low level like 20-30 you could struggle to find groups. But 40+ it's quite populated.
I could be placed in a never ending cycle of Classic to WotLK Classic over and over
Do you think Hardcore Classic will be able to go to Burning Crusade? I really hope so! I love Hardcore Anniversary Classic so much!
Also why I think player housing is finally happening.)
Essentially just drop a new WoW classic refresh ever other year probably with a new ruleset to keep things interesting.
My head canon ends with Wrath of the Lich King. The rest is just bad writing.
Only true opinion
For a lot of players, especially ones who started with Warcraft 3, the story ends at Wrath since hey, Arthas is finally dealt with.
The original trilogy is like every great RPG experience. Great act 1, brilliant act 2, rocky act 3 but manages to stick the landing. That’s how I see vanilla, tbc and wrath. Everything after is mediocre in terms of RPG.
@ my pc
Was broken for a long time and I haven’t been updated and I’m confused will the new classic servers go into tbc and lich king?
Your bad writing
I MISSED WOTLK CLASSIC I CANT WAIT TO NOT MISS IT THIS TIME
Vanilla-TBC-Wrath from now until infinity along with classic plus that has its foundations in SoD but this time with ALL NEW content (dungeons, raids, etc) needs to be the future of classic. No other way around it. Classic plus will be the "modern" version of classic and then you have a seasonal vanilla/tbc/wotlk going on and on into infinity.
Would my life be different if I picked up crack instead of wow 20 years ago?
Dragon Soul lasting an ungodly amount of time is true to the original cata experience though.
SOD is love! It can become the real classic plus. I love the new class balance and itemisation. If they add more content after Nax, I am sold.
Fingers crossed for Classic+ in the future :)
what do we want? slower phase timelines! when do we want them? later!
I miss having to find the Willie the Gnome at the start of your videos 😂😂
At least the actual 85-90 content in MOP is so much better than the 80-85 in Cata. Remix reminded me how great Pandaria is.
First and last time I will ever play Cata. Everything about that game is boring af except for some of the raids
@ it was a nice nostalgia trip at first, enjoyed the talent rework and streamlined leveling. Beyond that, meh.
Perfect. As long as classic stays classic lol thanks!!

I've always thought Blizzard's endgame with Classic was to get more people to play Retail
No idea if its true but I dropped retail like hot shit and never touched it again after 2019 lmao

I just mainly waiting for MoP now :D
season of mastery was such a hidden gem, I'm sad more people didn't realise it or didn't get to play it, best classic version of the game by far
After playing turtle wow, we truly need an official classic plus servers with new content added in vanilla style…to bring back that sense of exploration
The Anniversary Servers should go through Vanilla, TBC, and Wrath. Then just reset everything and go again.
I pray classic plus uses upgraded graphics for old content , that would be amazing
Playing warlock for the first time ever in Classic has pretty fun. My only real goal right now is to get to 60, maybe do a couple raids and get my Dreadsteed mount. Other than that, I’m kinda just waiting for TBC and Wrath.
ok...
Grind orb run for gold
I want an official attempt at "Project Ascension" aka - "Make Your Own Class"
The classic that I have a subscription for doesnt have BC or WOTLK. Where are you playing this classic with those expansions on them ?
Tbh if they're going to bother with something like Classic+ then they might as well take it one step further and release "WoW 2" in a new engine with new class design.
I would honestly just like a cycle of vanilla > TBC and TBC realms staying as TBC with a new fresh version every few years or so alongside classic+
Good predictions, I bet you will be right for at least half of this.
I hope they will make a TBC era server...
The next five years will be more bastard remixes of classic featuring crayon coloring all over mona lisa in order to generate “newness hype” for tourists and line blizzards pockets because the current team cannot create anything new that is worth while since legion. They continue to eat off the old devs philosophy and hardwork while grifters make what if videos
well said!!
Video makes sense , wouldn't surprise me at all. Do you have insider info
No he is simply making this up
but makes sense
@@bohne8746 they did already confirm it would stay at TBC right?
@@DaBroughtHD no didn’t confirm:(
@@bohne8746 oh fuck
So are you saying if i get the challenge mode sets in MOP they could eventually be on my retail account that I missed?
mouth started watering at the thought of a fresh tbc
As long as Blizzard caters to the players that burn though content as fast as possible, Classic will be in a perpetual state of doom.
Give us classic with the updated graphics and the achievements. Would be an experience
I personally love classic because it is slower paced. I work two jobs and classic is my down time. I love vibing out and grinding.
There needs to be two healthy communities PvP/PvE for long term sustainability
I wish blizzard would just do an alternate universe in which the story lines of vanilla progressed in a manner congruent with the lore also no Aggra.
Classic Plus sounds awesome
10:07 what about re-enabling firelands elemental tier to work as it did then?
I think its clear the people most want fresh classic (60), yearly
Fresh classic yearly is good, and it should allow for the option to move to TBC and option to move to wrath. To keep TBC and wrath open 👐😺 would be good.
I don't think many people wanted a rotating server with a rapid phase rollout. At least on era most of the people I know wanted a TBC era server (and a few also a WotLK server).
I have enjoyed SoD alot besides phase 3 but I hope some sort of iteration of classic+ is tried out in the future. If not who really cares cause PoE2 comes out friday.
