- Enemy Of The Night is out now, taken from Alien Deluxe, out July 31: unfd.lnk.to/Al...
He was never destined to change
an enemy of the night
scouring my memories
I've got nothing to hide
Never destined to change
or let go of his pride
driving down a one-way street
I'm just along for the ride
I'm just along for the ride
5 dollars in my mother’s pocket
the rest for the score
waiting on the corner of Ward and Kings Cross Road
outside an old record store
I bought my first CD that day
with the 5 that mum could spare
so unaware
we'd be waiting for a call
"he's in intensive care, condition; critical"
Beaten to a pulp
by 2 or 3 or 4
the next time I saw my father’s face
I didn't recognize him anymore
No, I didn't recognize him anymore
A victim of desperation
an enemy of the night
I'm just along for the ride
2 minutes from the petrol station
my father used to run
He got clean and tried to make ends meet
but all hope had come undone
when he fell in and out of love
his sickness was reclaimed
A cigarette, a junk-fueled slumber
he rode shotgun in the flames
his skin was stained with Gasoline
his nerves could feel no pain
he held the key to his release
but he was never destined to change
A victim of desperation
an enemy of the night
A victim of desperation
an enemy of the night
I'm just along for the ride
i'm just along for the ride

Petition for Northlane to release any other songs that didn't make Alien. 🤘
agree
Yes please
Table it in parliament to use the force of law to compel them
No more tracks from alien except for this one, sorry!
@@northlane wanna hold hands?
YESSSSSSSSSS
Cover, please?
Reaction please?
i love your content rob scallon
Hey Russian guitar teacher who plays awesome riffs ans makes me wet with his skills. Well that escalated.
Noir
Bro these lyrics make me wanna just hug Marcus and take him to Disney Land.
ikr, poor dude had it rough but glad he came out on top
@@zw5783 in other words, he was raised in hell and made it out by himself
When I met him he was wearing a tan Disney shirt lol
Dude i know mesmer and node were so happy go lucky then aliens came and it all unfolded
same i am his dad now
loving this era of Northlane
I know right? I would take Alien 2.0 in a heart beat cuz I love how there sound has evolved.
@@M1XEDBAG i like this a-lot but man i miss their Discoveries sound so much
This Era is dead to me. I check new music but its all a easy pass.
@@khyleebrahh7 Its never been the same without Adrian imo
@@khyleebrahh7 i honestly miss node / mesmer sound
This song made me cry today and it did before. God bless bro.
2:40 has to be the most insane breakdown I’ve ever heard. Chills every time
This band is in a tier of their own, every member shines and their creations are incredible.
I could not have said it better myself
You think Northlane is the best band period? I like em but I wouldn't say they're in a tier of their own
@@Andy_Pancake being a league of their doesn't necessarily mean they're the best, just completely original and unique.
But they are also the best
Marcus is one of the best vocalists in the game right now. What a beast.
Hes #1 for me!
@@ForceFedBalt Disagree. Maybe this is due to poor mixing or something else, but the vocals sound as distorted as possible and are constantly blocked by annoying noise. Kinda reminded All Smiles album by Sworn In.
1:30 love when he does that. Incredible vocals and he literally sounds like this live so it’s legit, unlike a lot of other bands
The man is one of the most incredible vocalists I've seen live multiple times. Never disappoints.
Right? It's crazy how there's almost no degradation in live performances, total beast!
Funny how things have changed. If you look at comments of their live videos from 2017/18 everyone used to shit on him eventhough he sounded great.
@@nazman465 Exactly. Just comparing him to Adrian this, Adrian that.
He genuinely shocked me live. Very impressive!
Anyone else playing this on repeat? This song makes me want Northlane to drop ALIEN 2
*ALIENS

@@enboomer SO glad you said this, cause I was heading right there!
Tell me the cleans in the chorus Didnt sound like monolith by erra
alien deluxe edition, calling it already
Marcus bears all on this one. So much weight to these lyrics.
I can only imaging how good getting this out of him must feel.
Another incredible track from an even more incredible band. well done boys.
Who would've thought 6 years ago when marcus arrived that they could grow and mature so much. From node to this... It's quite the journey.
They are from another planet. Amazing.
Hence the Alien title
Australia might as well be another planet , killer bands and wild animals coexist.
This band can do no wrong as far as I'm concerned. Node and Mesmer were just beautiful. Alien Is intense industrial nu metal badassery. I'm genuinely excited to see what this band has In store for us In the future.
I’m so excited. So much respect ✊🏾 for them
agreed 100% best band has best fans
This era of Northlane is literally the music from DOOM with vocals, so fucking sick!
Fr, I was getting some BFG Division vibes from those drops.
I know right? The groove of the riffs, the low tuning, and the electronic production, it all points to DOOM
Could've easily been on the album
Makes it clear they always planned on doing a deluxe release, there's no way they were sitting on something this good and didn't plan to release it haha
@@avedisdrummer989 I was like "yeah they def gonna drop an instrumental next year" when Alien first came out. Just did not know that we'd be getting an insane track delivered with it.
Petition for Northlane to make the next DOOM soundtrack if Mick Gordon is actually not doing it again.
100% agreed. My god they fit the sound and feel of the games perfectly
I've thought the same thing
I think Dealer would do it better, if you check out their song Violent Stimuli it fits too well.
I was just about to comment that you ass!!
Yes
When Marcus said “ The next time I saw my father's face I didn't recognize him anymore “ and the breakdown hit I lost my shit 🤘🔥
I felt that too man. Hit different for sure
Futuristic heaviness and beautiful tone. I can always count on Northlane to provide.
I love how the riffs on the guitar on this album just fully blend with the synth and electronic. And the song is filled with so much heavy emotions. This band is in their own league for sure, no one to compete with
First listen: excited to hear new northlane
Second listen: "might be one of the best on Alien"
20th listen: this might be the best northlane song so far
Haha exactly how I feel right now
@@KiloPage777 With you! Still prefer Talking Heads but this is second! Fucking amazing!
It definitely took time to grow on me and now I can listen to it over and over and over!
Same! And that's the beauty of it...it challenged me, and now it's love.
@@shanemassey8398 I'm glad we're in the same boat lol. The first time I heard this song, I SKIPPED it before the main chorus. Now it's one of my favorite Northlane songs!
I love how Marcus sounds like a different vocalist in every song
This song is one big breakdown. I love it.
It’s all groove lol
@@AirRedbox Yeah, this isn't that heavy lol. Lots of nu-metal influence..
@@jasonlovesmusicreacting882 hey again
Love how the track transitions between the sludgy breakdown-ey parts and the ambient, spacey clean sections...Northlane is bliss
just use telephone cables instead of strings my dudes!
Best comment
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Welcome to my life. Jesus, Marcus hits me in the face with feelings. My whole life I've been along for my parents ride just scraping by and struggling with various vices. This is why Northlane is the shit and Alien is their best album. Most real album in a long time.
couldnt imagine how much harder this hits for you. whenever i hear a song with these deep personal lyrics i always feel for the artist and the listener who can relate. in a weird way it makes the music 10x better when it hurts like that... but i hope you do well in life man
Still listening to this and year later and still by far one of the best djent songs ever made and most underrated in my personal opinion
The tuning is lower than my math test scores
"You got a C" - "Or as I call it, B#"
@@fh404 Dbb
Eaeadf#b actually
You got an F# for the key, maybe E for the tuning.
Math test scores don't matter. Learning frequency by ear is what matters. You already have it.
Marcus’s vocals are out of this world!
guys, this is real music. a real message. and real talent
Alien Deluxe Release? Seems so
they said its a b-side songs
it's been leaked on the Anti Vinyl Vinyl Club insta - take a look
@@alexwaite7992 it's literally just the song artwork and it even has a vk.com/filter_rock watermark lmao

Tears of happiness
Me listening to the music: 😁
Me reading the lyrics: 😟
Northlane becoming more and more like hard edge 90's nu and industrial metal. my favourite, so happy.
wtf this is stunning. this band has done magnificent things for itself. marcus is a god.
Every now and then I come back to this song and wonder how this didn't make the record
Exactly the same for me. Wow...
It's literally my fave Northlane song
It's such an incredible and pleasing moment when a song that sounds absolutely incredible also has deeply relatable lyrics. You catch yourself vibing to the orgasmic sounds, then you swap to thinking "Yeah, this one's gonna be with me for a loooong time."
Absolute slapper boys. Thanks for this one
I know I'm late, I can't believe I found this gem.
Bro, I'm so glad Marcus is getting the respect he deserves. I've loved him since Node, and while I miss Adrian, I'm just really proud of Marcus.
Amazing guys! Give us more! We're hungry! Awesome show in Leeds UK last year!
This jam has that industrial sound to it, I like it 🤘
Honestly, songs like this are my favorite. It's not just a story, but it's Marcus showing he refuses to let himself be defined by the trauma he suffered. By writing this and publishing it, he is taking control. Telling his story.
Goddamn, I'm new to Northlane (I just found this song like a week ago) but already I'm in love.
Hands down one of the top 3 bands in the genre. Thank you Northlane.
I just can express the love I have for Northlane. Thank you guys for everything!
I've replay this about 19 times already in the last 2 hours at work it's amazing.
Marcus is one of only a few artists where you can feel the pain they have been through and continue to go through.
Agreed.
Jesus this is phenomenal... I have been listening to it on repeat. I haven't even wanted to take the time to comment this.
This album is the masterpiece of our era! Come fight me.
Can't fight facts mate.
The story-telling style clean verses give me a Landon Tewers vibe, and the sound overall a little bit of an Ai640 vibe. Really like this one.
I know right? Remind me of HISD from The Plot In You
marcus sounds so freaking huge.
I literally immedietally stopped everything when a friend sent me this track.
Thank YOU
Can't wait to see you guys live again! I love the atmosphere of this band.
This is insane. Love it so much. Hope they release an Alien Deluxe.
How the hell doesn't this have millions of views. This is bad ass!
I remember all the criticism on Marcus when he just joined Northlane, safe to say they improved so much with him.
Alien is a banger album and so is this new release! Keep it up Aussi boyssss!
This is dope, I love it. Marcus' screaming and singing is gold. 🎶🎧
MARCUS VOCALS ARE BEYOND AMAZING !!
THIS GREAT
To be said I always expect greatness from the boys in northlane
Oh man that buildup and breakdown at 2:42 hits so hard
Now I wish, I could see them live in rehearsal! Now THAT would be something!
They really found their sound, didn't they?
or Korn's
ummmm what about discoveries? is everyone fucking stupid? what did northlane come too
@@tomthecatsyeryerpart I agree, Discoveries is their best album
I think I’m not alone in thinking that Marcus has the best cleans in metalcore ?
He definitely writes the best vocal melodies. No one can write catchy and emotional melodies the way he can
Marcus and Rory from Dayseeker 🤝🤝
Haven't heard Myke and Mike from Volumes, but definitely top 3 between them!
I mean, he’s amazing, but there’s also Spencer Sotelo and Lukas Magyar
dont forget Captives and Thornhill
I didn't expect it, wow I freaking love this new song
Awwwwww ❤️ Marcus. I want to gift him a snuggles bear.
Dude this is already the third time listening on repeat and every time it gets better
Mesmer and Alien still in heavy rotation here,
I can't get tired of how amazing these guys are, they carry the torch of modern metal nowadays
Best track since years..freshly violent!
I love Northlane. I like their current style.. BUT - Node style was the best. Im listening it every day since 2015. ROT is masterpiece. That song i ll remember for all my future life for sure.
they're new dynamic is angry, get that shit off your shoulders type shit, im all for that
They nu metal now
imo, Discoveries & Singularity was their best
@@mfadel1012 agreed
singularity > alien > discoveries > the rest
Amazing song! Just like all of Alien. Northlane have easily become one of my favourite if not my favourite metalcore band of all time! 🤘🤘👍🖤💛💚
1) Node
2) Alien
3) Mesmer
4) Singularity
5) Discoveries
Keep in mind I adore all Northlane’s albums! 🤘🤘👍👍🖤💚💛
Northlane is my favorite band
This should've been on the record, this song slaps!
It's crazy how they've invented such an own unique heavy sound. Fucks my mind.
this is hauntingly beautiful
ALIEN Part 2 come on innn
Spotify NEEDS this.
I am listening it on Spotify right now!
It's on dude
I don’t think I’ll find a song better than this
Could not ask for more
Daaamn those lyrics get more and more personal
Very Motionless In White sounding. I love it 😍😍😍
Those lyrics are mental, this is the first metalcore song that's brought tears to me.
Marcus really alchemized a tough upbringing. Much respect.
The nu-metal vibes are strong with this One y'all
Kornlane
I get why people say that but nu-metal never sounded like this. This is something else.
@@AhhnoldHD sellout Djent
Justin B Nu-Metal definitely sounded like this. Especially Korn era. Not as heavy obviously, but the heavy lyrics, the talk screaming, the actual screaming with the cleans over the heavy hitting riffs.
"Deflane"
Magnificent work as always bois...
Sick Ozzy vibe in the chorus!!! And The lever riffage!!! 🤘😎🖤
Definitely loving this sound of Northlane much more than previous albums. They were always hit and miss for me, but since Alien, they've definitely caught my attention 🤘
2:54 the trancy percussion OMG YISSSSS
I love when Marcus sings his cleans low 💗💗💗💗
This track is pure 🔥🔥🔥🔥
dude wtf is this masterpiece. getting goosebumps over here. i fucking love it!
Alien is the best northlane era so far. Can’t wait to see you guys live, and I can’t wait to see what’s next
uhhhh no
Murder HeWrote Let me guess, Adrian was your favorite northlane era?
@@DeathofJustin better believe it.
Murder HeWrote lol yeah that is exactly what I thought
Even with Adrian, the band would eventually hit this direction, so it really does not matter in the end. Though, Marcus is also doing an amazing job imo
Northlane threw sleepless and enemy of the night back to back so that you can pick your crying self up off the floor and kick the air when that breakdown hits in the next track 😩😩
Amazing!!
This band is a real gem!!! 1:45
WIll always love you guys. Keep experimenting, keep growing. This nu-metal sound and the last album don't do it for me, but don't ever compromise on your artistic creativity! Cheers mates
Primeira vez que escuto e me apaixono.
Yes.
That breakdown just literally killing me
That was wild. Hell yes.
YES! Thank you baby Jesus!
that story is heavy, Marcus you guys are true warriors for holding on so weight of those experiences
