I am from New Hampshire and have travelled in an RV along parts of Route 66 in Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas and spent days in Albuquerque, Williams, and Flagstaff a few different times. love the nostalgia and can imagine what it was like in its hey day back when those old cars were on the road. I like the places that keep the old signs and The abandoned motor inns and gas stations just tell a whole story. It’s such a big part of American history. This was a great presentation and like seeing off the beaten path places.
Thank you we will have a bunch more coming soon
I loved Tucacamari. I stayed in an RV park in my van conversion. AC in passenger window with my cat....lol
nice thanks for watching and please subscribe lots more videos coming
Boa noite parabéns 🤝🙌🙏👍❤️🥰
Thank you
While driving through Tucumcari recently I took a picture of my girlfriend in front of the blue truck at the Ranch House Cafe. She likes the picture so much she has it as her Facebook profile picture. Also,....the song 'Willin'' by Little Feat,...and also recorded by Linda Ronstadt gives that epic shout-out to Tucumcari. The ultimate trucker song !
Very nice thanks for watching
My deceased mother-in-law was born in Tucumcari in 1932. She passed away in 2020. My wife and I passed through there in 2013 and again in 2015. Not much to see back then, but what there was was interesting just the same.
it is a nice town and lots of things to see on Route 66 if you know where to look thanks for watching
Nice video
Thanks
Few notes. Been thru here many times, and usually stay over. For food Del's is about the only place still around as well as La Cita. The latter of course, serves mostly New Mexican style food. Lots of green chili on site. Very good food. Usually, only Hispanic food is high quality in the general area. Lots of competition, I guess. Dels doesn't have much competition and their food is good. It's pretty basic, small town restaurant quality. I've eaten there going back to 1975. It's a great place to chill out especially if you've been driving all day and arrive in the evening. I mostly get the steak. Salad bar is ok. Small plates. There are still a lot of one thing in town: motel rooms. Most are low to mid-range prices. Quality varies and usually is tied to the price. Safari Hotel and Buckaroo are two of my favorites. The former is a converted 60s era holiday Inn type place. The latter is a basic, road style old-50s motel style place. Most Route 66 people gravitate to the Blue Swallow Motel. It's an old place with very small rooms. It's an out of the box place, unique. It's also well maintained, clean and safe. You can usually catch a group of 66 people sitting out front talking and socializing. The motel is the priciest in town. I always recommend hitting it at least once, but then going to the others to save money. Not much to do in town. The Curios is the last store in town which sells mostly 66 souvenirs. You can drive down the road about an hour and hit Santa Rosa. It's very similar to Tucumcari in what it offers to the traveler. For me, just the scenery is enough to keep me coming back. For some reason I'm attracted to the New Mexican wide-open spaces.
Thank you for the great input
We always eat at Dell's on our way to Gunsite Academy
nice
As the joke goes, I spent a month in Tucumcari ONE night.
However, the Truck Stop was jumpin'
LOL think of the bright side it could have been Yuma Arizona in the Summer Time
@@route66roadrelics66 Been there, done that. Sometimes, on purpose.
