Que bonitos murales están en las paredes.
Just lived there for 9 months last year. Walked the town everyday and wondered why everyone wasnt doing it, lol.
Very neat to look at for sure.
They hold feastivals throughout the year and thats when all the towns people come out. Excellent fun ! I enjoyed Tucumcari !
Not much there anymore but I certainly enjoyed it. You have to check out these small towns before they start converting them in to social communities. A glimpse of the past. Thanks for watching.
Tucumcari is a awesome, the Vfw building was an old Hotel, Alot of the old buildings have been empty for along time. But we enjoy visitors. thank you for stopping .
Thank you watching! Yeah i really enjoyed walking on Main Street. I took Gina back there. We had a great time. We enjoyed Del’s Diner as well. Thanks you for subscribing and supporting the channel.
That town is so damn cool, thanks for bringing us along!
Btw, Michael visited us last weekend, we gave him a good workout.. one day on the standup bikes, another day in the kayak... good times!
Yeah I enjoyed it! Was Michael out of breathe? Lol I’m sure he was glad to visit back home again. We would love to get down there but we are going west towards Cali.
@@VanngoTravelers He did good, kept right up with us. Looking forward to your vids as you make your way west, and when you do make it back here we have a Me-Mover and a kayak waiting for you!
@@tomcase2837 awesome!
Excellent video.
Thank you sir. Appreciate it. I love towns like that.
I drove thru and stayed one night in Tucumcari when I drove from NJ to CA in 1973.
Wow that’s a while back. Not much there these days.
Was there in 1965. Really small tgen. How many cafes in 1965
Good question. I don’t know.
Nice old clean town. Enjoyed.
Clean and quiet. Enjoyed it.
Earlier this year I had to stop there due to a failing U-joint in my little RV. Found an RV park that was across from a repair shop that worked on trucks & 4WD vehicles. I removed the driveshaft in the park and carried it over to the shop, they installed a new U-joint at a reasonable price. The RV park was nice with friendly & helpful staff. I remember traveling RT 66 back in the 50s with my parents, one trip to & from California. Most of the tourist stuff is now gone, closed stores, closed motels, just a shell of what it once was. There were a lot of gas stations, mom & pop motels, curio shops. The motels always had some sort of unique thing going on to attract tourists. Tucamcari suffered a triple whammy when the interstate bypassed the town & rail passenger trains stopped. There was the rt 66 east west road, another major N-S route and the railroad depot. When all that went away the town kind of dried up. While my driveshaft was being repaired we drove the little Tow'd (the car that I tow behind the RV) all over town sightseeing. Many of the old motels have been restored, neat place to visit if you get the chance.
That’s awesome. Man you are lucky to experience and remember what these towns once looked like. It’s all part of the adventure. Sad to see them all disappearing. Gotta enjoy what’s left of them. Very nostalgic. Thanks for the info. Very interesting.
Cool let's see one from LA Veta
It’s coming lol
I drive by there every winter on my way to AZ for fun in the desert. Haven't stopped in yet, but yeah, the scenery is amazing. I have stopped in Gallup, although that was several years ago. The rock cliffs there are awesome.
Route 66 goes through there. Always fun on Route 66. I definitely enjoyed the town. We’ll be going through Arizona than Cali in a few months. Wanting to take route 1 up the coast again. Thanks for watching FlyTheDub!
this is my home town
I enjoyed it.
Stayed there one night on my way to Vegas. The motel was cheap.
That motel? Do you know why the overhang was so low?
@@VanngoTravelers
I didn't notice the overhang. I got there late, left early.
That's where I live
It’s a small world. 🙂 We love it.
The towns original name was Six Shooter Siding
Have you heard of the tucomcari training run?
No what is that?
My FedEx package is there 😂
Not attractive - most American downtowns built on strips and ugly square buildings no aesthetics, beauty or creativity in mind - how can you get inspired walking around a town like that
I don’t know. It’s always nice to walk around on a nice day. It’s quiet and peaceful. You always find something interesting or entertaining. Better then sitting on the sofa at home watching tv. lol Keeps me wondering how things were back then.
