Best group of all time. They were consistently from the 60s to the 90s and even their brother had a great career, such a shame that Barry is the only beegee left
You did an amazing job pointing out how this song traveled. Appreciated the silence through the video to enjoy the experience. Well done! The Bee Gees took music to a different level and there is no way to appreciate them as much as they truly deserve to be.
I know that you freakin out, 😆 because this is their stunning masterpiece from the 1975 main course album, with Barry Robins and Maurice perfect high pitched falsetto harmonies and amazing blended in 16 audio tracks😱 perfectly mixed by Karl Richardson & Legendary Arif Mardin. As Barry told their instrumentally most complex and difficult song, impossible to cover and praised as the best soul tune of all time from a white group from the RnB "Goat"Quincy Jones and Paul McCartney 🍾
Bee Gees are incomparable and legends. Nobody can surpass them in terms of switching tones and tunes. They were featured in the Book of Guiness as the most successful songwriters of all time and all are handsome esp. Sir Barry Gibb.
What an amazing song. For me, Main Course is the Bee Gees best album. Jive talking, Nights on Broadway, Wind of change are just amazing. Thank you for keeping the Bee Gees alive. God bless you. Have a wonderful day.
Thank you for reacting to one of my favorite Ber Gees songs. Barry's natural and falsetto voices are perfection!. The lyrics are beautiful, and the arrangement of voices are stellar! Great reaction! I love your singing voice!!!

My favourite band and one of my favourites of their songs - beyond the known smash hits, it's this one and "Inside and Out" Thanks for a great reaction.
Only a music teacher like you Jelani can hear this song differently than the average listener. You break down different parts of the song which give us average listeners more insight into this song, including their sounds from the late '60s & early '70s to now. Great reaction sir.
Wow you truly understand this song, this sound, the transition in their music. What a great reaction to one of their the best songs (too many "best" songs to count 😃).
Hmm! That probably why I've had such a hard time discerning whose singing what. Learning so much here from you plus your joyful reactions...Good blessed day to ya👍🙏❤
The deep singing is Barry, Robin and Barry are both singing falsetto. This is a great song so much wrapped up in it. I love it so much. I love the Bee Gees the best group ever. A great song from the early years which is an all out rock and roll song is ...To Be or Not to Be.... You will love it. Also a beautiful song that doesn't get played much is....Happy Ever After.... Love your reaction!!! Main Course is a favorite of mine also.

OH I LOVE WALKING BASELINES FOR TWO MAIN REASONS! 1. It provides a complimentary counter melody to the main melody. 2. It accentuates the pocket the bass player is holding down.
This song is a banger. That one part where they all really harmonize and then reach these high notes I can’t tell who is singing what part, that doesn’t even seem possible. I’m gonna go back and I’m gonna tell you what point I’m talking about like minute wise. It’s around 3:18. Wth?? That’s beautiful.
They love their falsetto harmony. Also see Spirits Having Flown chorus ruclips.net/video/WWBFpoErDCM/видео.html and the insane ending to Reaching Out ruclips.net/video/vfHUS5Mf00Q/видео.html
@@matmagix3845 thx. I’m Excited to listen I appreciate you putting them write in the comments of all I have to do is press on the link. Thank you so very much.
I loved our break down on one of my alltim favorite childhood songs. I loved the song so much because it was so pretty, but it was ironic that at that time in high school I was crazy in love with this girl named: Fanny! 1976 or so. The Bee Gees were my band because of Jive Talking and their beautiful ballads. I loved them until they became everyone's favorite after Saturday Night Live. Then I kind of moved on. LOL! You should do a bass cover of one of their songs.
Nice reaction here. Agree the song makes you feel relaxed and then ramps up intensity midway after the amazing bridge and the bassline ends up having a life of its own. The key change interestingly was borrowed in part from another song, "She's Gone" (Hall and Oates) which their producer also worked on. Fanny is one of my favourite songs of theirs, second only to the beautifully constructed and dreamy Spirits (Having Flown).
I believe it's the "tempo" that just pulls all of the other spectacular elements of this song together...I listen to it often and that always strikes me
Check'em out with 'Heavy Breathing' from their Mr. Natural album. That's a rock'n-funk'n banger, also on their road to R&B, but so so rough. Great leadguitar of Alan Kendall and lots of brass.
PHENOMENAL REACTION! you’re clearly very knowledgeable about music and the bee gees, and i appreciate this so much! you described the emotion behind this song perfectly, and thanks so much for making that connection between their previous sound and their falsetto/rnb sound, i’ve been dying to hear a reactor notice this! thanks for this reaction, you’ve earned a new subscriber and i’m definitely going to watch more of your videos!
Just another 70’s hit that would knock you on your ass after you listened to it instead of just passing time listening to mediocre music. The BeeGee’s had the hits that were unforgettable Along with many other exceptional 70’s musicians. It wasn’t enough to look good, you actually had to have musical talent back then to be considered a Valid and Worthy group. Gotta be good in order to be called good. Makes sense to me!
Wow, your commentary is very informative! I grew up during the 60's & 70's ... most of my favorite bands were of the Motown genre but I love almost any band that sings harmony. The BeeGees are exceptional and honestly, their music has so much soul to my sense that I would have thought their influence came from R&B, but in a recent interview with Barry Gibb he said that Ricky Skaggs, Roy Orbison, and particularly the Everly Brothers were their earliest and most profound influencers. Barry's latest album is more "country" ... a genre he says has been his lifelong resonance. Great insight you shared. 👍
@@JelaniStokes - as you were sharing your commentary after the song played, it dawned on me more clearly than ever that harmony is something innately universal in each of us and because of that, we RECOGNIZE it universally at once without prejudice or boundaries.
I see a lot of focus on barry vocals but robin never gets the credit he deserves ... note robin has a highest falsetto in this tune not that barry cannot match it just that one this tune robin gets that glory. This is where he shines... Both he and barry trade off their falsetto in like that one up friendly competition... Just priceless But ALL of them making those rich harmonies that fall through the song that's what makes this tune my absolute favorite of every bee gees song out there. Such a classic r and b masterpiece... even 40 years later... still gives me goosebumps ❤❤❤❤❤

If you have not, please review Robin Gibb's "Don't Cry Alone," which he and his son RJ composed and Robin sang shortly before his death in 2012. It is part of the Titanic Requiem that they both composed. Great stuff.

I think the Bee Gees were always underrated as composers. They did some really interesting things with their chord progressions and transitions. Having two bridges in a song to get in the key changes and thus take the song's energy and emotional power higher and higher--that's dang good songwriting.
Loved how you introduced the title and artist...then a short channel intro and boom...got right in to it! Other channels could learn a lot from you! Anyway, thanks for this song. When did this become a Barry only song? Three singers sang their souls out on this or are we listening to different songs? It was nothing to do with layering that they did not sing it live. They layered many songs including too much heaven and they sang it live. Maurice himself said they all loved 'Fanny be tender' but they never sang it live because 'it was a b*t*h to sing'!'
