Ahhhh! 😊So lovely to see you out and about on the boat! Not long now till you're finally continuous cruisers! Take care lovely pair! 🙂😘🌻
its been a slow old road but we will get there, at least we had a mini cruise for now , have a lovely week ❤️
YEA!!! It’s my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE narrowboat couple
Thanks to people like you Vik were still going at it, the support has been unreal, we will get there , thanks again
It's been a while now so I'm not up to date with any recent changes to the regulations but I was a Boat Safety Scheme examiner in Huntingdonshire for eight years and my advice for any boat owner is not to possibly waste time and money making alterations due to guessing what the rules require. Get the boat examined first before doing anything. Certainly when I was doing the job, most examiners including myself would give a list of any alterations needed and do a free retest when they're done. The boat is not new so must have passed the four yearly exams many times before. It may not even have needed anything changing at all. At worst, it might have just needed a few tiles added to protect any nearby combustible surfaces.
Thank you so much for this insight, yes the boat has past many times before, I suppose as newbies we don't no what to expect plus we've pulled quite alot of things out in the refit, we have heard that they will do a free retest once things have been sorted, thank you so much for all this information 😀
Cruising. Yey! Perfect cruising weather now rippers.
bout time we done at least a small cruise haha cheers Will
I think you should try again and get the chimney off the stove then get the stove in the right place and sort the chimney out then.❤
yes thats probably not a bad idea 😂
It's nice that you are putting air gaps around the fire, it will help to keep all the Spiders warm during the chilly winter, nice one
never thought of that....there going to love it 😂
Nice one good job that was pointed out and upon got the right bored and the ducks bk with a fella I bet you were glad to see her bk safe and well have a Top week guys 🙂🔧🎸✌️
Proper chuffed to see her again though its probably good for her to be a bit more weary around people, she was far to confident 😀 have a lovely week
Best DIY video of what to do & what not to do while keeping your fingers - great job
haha brilliant, thank you ❤️
Well done guys. Despite setbacks, you persevere and come out on top 🎉❤
back and forth with us all the times....but we will get there 😂😂
Hi guys with all the work you've put into making the stove safe it should win a safety award!🤪 ... regarding the flue, we chose a single skin as it radiates heat to help keep the boat warm (cheaper and its stainless steel) a duel skin shoots a lot of the heat to the atmosphere.
That's very interesting I wonder if maybe going the single route would be alot better then, its hard to work out what will.pass and what won't,thanks for your help
Love your quick-fire presentations......All the best, Tricia and Neil....
Thanks so much Tricia and Neil have a lovely week
Nice parking job Bex. Like anything the more you do something the better you'll be. Just look at how much better Chris is at DIY skills now. Thanks for sharing the fireplace project with us. So looking forward to when the tiles go on. Best wishes, Deb
Thank you Deb, Bex is getting very handy with her driving skills, im soon going to be completely redundant 😂 thanks for your comment and hope you have a lovely week
Hi Guys, Nice to see you eventually cracked it.
Well done Beck, he would be lost without you.
Looking great now and soon be ready for the big cruise.
As always, take care and stay safe. 😀x
Thank you so much John ☺️ take care and have a lovely week x
You guys are amazing! Your determination is boundless. You outspider that spider in King Robert the Bruce's cave in Scotland, that kept on trying to climb across the roof: 'the creature was hanging by a long silvery thread from one of the wooden beams above his head, and trying to swing itself to another beam. The spider tried again and again, failing every time. Six times, counted Robert, the spider tried and failed. ‘Six times,’ thought Robert to himself, ‘have I fought against the English and failed.’ But on the 7th try the spider made it, and Robert the Bruce determined to try once more to defeat the English. But this was minor stuff compared to your fight with your stove and the fire board. And you're still smiling! Applause, applause!! 👏👏👏😊
haha this funny, what a funny story,i feel we have to become friends with the spiders at this point...it is a huge nest after all, thanks for your funny lovely comment have a lovely week
Awwww our poor little Crobots yet another problem we are sure one day all will be fine and you be on your way at last keep smiling brush your selves down and get on again luv the oldies 🤗🤗👍👍
there's always something isn't there, will get there eventually, the whole build has been a huge learning process, thanks for joining us time and time again x
Hi guys. Just a quick tip . When you been in the weed hach its best to check its not leaking befor puting the cover back . Keep the get work up
Thanks for the Tip Neil appreciate it 😀👍
Hi Becca, Chris, Another great and educational and entertaining Vlog. I liked the opening with the Weed Hatch Blooper. And of course I must mention how my evening was made so good. "The Dramatic Music" sounded, in the right places, and was brilliant. And even later on a bit more of the DM thingy!. What Fantastic editing and dubbing Chris. Glad you managed to clear your prop. Well done to Becca for navigating your boat in and out of the marina, excellent helm-manship (or should that be (Helm-womanship?) Really interesting about the Regs on your stove. You are both doing an amazing job with the Stove. So many rules to follow, and well done that you have followed the rules. It's a shame you had to take up the hearth floor only to relay it down again. That Fire safety board looked really hard to cut. Great to see "The Maverick" doing his Maverick things. Great Editing and audio dubbing which has to be applauded every week, as it's so good. Thank you for a great and enjoyable Vlog. Take Care. Spoolbox.
Thanks of tuning in time and time again, hopefully the DIY will all be a thing of the past soon and will have to work out what real narrowboat life is going to be like. There always seams to be something so im sure we won't run out of things to vlog about, thanks for your kind words it really makes it all worth while spool box, have a lovely week
Looking good now. I would increase the gap between the wood on the ceiling and put fireproof trim round it afterwards. If the stuck pipe in the fire was free you would be able to move the fireplace position easier away from the walls.
thats a good point actually, I think were gonna have to grind it off... its stuck and makes it hard to get into position , thanks for your tips 😀👍
Nice to see the fireplace progressing guys. Glad Chris wasn't tempted to swap Titan for a Henry 😀
owwww never...the Titan would be very very sad 😂
Glad you redid the fire it looks a lot more safer now. Consider removing the pine on the wall behind the flue and above the flue in the ceiling, replacing it with the same fire board, that way your copper will fix to the fire board without anything combustible behind and above it. It won't stick out so much. and any fire would be better contained. Moving the roof hole a little is the only way I think.
Great parking Becca, will be good to see you taking some small trips between working on the boat.
Thats it we need to make sure this thing is going to be safe, lets hope we havent bitten off to much again.we will be putting some firebird up there too but were probably going to just go over it maybe? increasing the size of the hole...terrifying haha
You two are the epitome of perseverance! I would have quit and bought an inflatable raft by now. But….i believe you can do this. Nice cameo by the Maverick. Fingers crossed there are no more problems….at least with the stove. 😊🤗 Kathy
Bishbashbosh Bec’s and crashbangwallop Chris creator of chaos and discombobulation. 😂🍻🍻
we both have our roles 😂
You only need to to put fireboard on top of the wooden hearth at the bottom no need for gap and then tile on top. Just ensure your stove legs are securely fixed so the stove does not move. I also used angle iron painted black around the edge so that if any hot embers fell out of the stove they won't roll onto the floor. Good luck with that one.. great vlog btw...
thanks for the insight, it seams quite hard to work out what is wrong and right, we never had any firebird there originally but it looks like were going with it just to be extra safe. yes iv heard it being fixed down is a big thing they look for. thats a great idea for the edge, im sure it happens alot
@@TheNomadicCrobot oh yes I forgot to mention I have a single wall flu when the boat was designed they put the fire in right hand side in front of the window needless to say I was concerned about the curtains getting hot. So instead of forking out ridiculous amount of money for a twin walled flu, which I might add looks bulky and awful. I went with a flu heat shield. Might be something to look into.
Imperial Mfg Group Bm0133 Adjustable Stove Pipe Shield
After a really horrible sad day. Its so nice to relax with my favourite couple
yay thanks for that and sorry for your crappy day, glad we cheered you up 😀👍
@@TheNomadicCrobot 😘❤️
Well Chris Becks is a keeper. She can do it all.
I dont even have to drive now....this is playing out perfectly 😂
Try and avoid going with a twin walled flue system. It's not necessary at all on a narrowboat, it isn't in any of the regs. A lot of the heat generated from a solid fuel stove is radiated from the flue and with an insulated twin wall system you will actually miss out on that, as well as not needing to have a bigger than necessary hole in the cabin top.
thats interesting we thought it was part of the main regulation, but a few have now said it will loose us heat. its something we may want to research a bit more , thanks
Have a look at Percy doughty catalogue for flue collars. They also do rope glue glass grates fire cement and all the bits you could need
thanks for this will take a look right away 😀
Girl power personified 😄
Bex is the Best 🥰😍
Nice choice of tiles I would definitely go with a dark grout topps tiles do a wide range of colours. It'll look great when it's finished. 😊X
Thank you Tina, something tells me Bex is gonna go wild on this one x
Nothing the BSS inspection will pick up on will be as dangerous as Chrisy Crobot.
haha spot on...better sit out that day
Another great video guys. We so look forward to Mondays ❤
Thanks so much Lisa ☺️
I sure hope Wombat passes muster after all this hard work. 🤞
prey for us haha cheers buddy
Nematic best vacuum ever made 😅😊
all hail the Titan
Interesting video 😊well done 😊thank you
Cheers Rick, one thing after another but we will get there , thanks for tuning in 😀👍
Ahhhh my lovely botties, you guys are seriously legends ! You never give up. What a treat though ! THE MAVERICK !!! Was good to see the old devil ! Can’t wait for the next instalment now ! Adore you two lovies hugs hugs and more hugs from me !! See you on the next one bex and Chris xxx
Aww so sweet of you Mandy, one job seams to open the doors to another, bit it is slowest getting there, this year is probably out the way for cruising but surely early next year fingers crossed 🤞 xxx
@@TheNomadicCrobot 🫰👍✊🏼🤛🫶🏻
A little bit now and then, actually every monday, I think it's just OK to live in Sweden.
We have almost no canals and absolutely no Narrowboats. Thats makes us a very happy people!
But I'm getting used to the British and their narrowboats
Happy New Year, that is, after X-mas
thanks for tuning in again Rolf, that interesting...I wonder how many countries have them really? I know there an Amsterdam system that would be very interesting to vlog one day....let's get the uk one out the way first 😂
Bex you don't have to explain who the boss is 😂
😂😂
I think you should also have a 10" min fireproof space in front of your fire in case a coal falls out when opening the door. Check your HETAS B.S. standard for best codes of practice. Retired HETAS engineer. Oh and do not touch your LPG gas supply unless you are Gas safe registered very strict regulations for boats. All part of your safety certification.
Thank you for the heads up on the LPG gas, Becca has since reworked the stove to have the right amount off space infant, fingers crossed we pass the BSS
I thought you guys were beginning to make some progress, now I'm not so sure!
Morso do a really good twin wall flu kit though it's a bit pricey but might make life easier.
same here....back and forth....a slow old process but it is getting there , thanks for that were currently trying to work out f we actually need a insulated flu or now
Be really really really safe and buy some woolly jumpers and don't use the fireplace ever 🤣😂🤣😂👍
woaw that would be extra extra safe haha
Nice. Hope to bump into you both one day
we hope to bump in to you too 😀👍 make sure you say hi
Will do. We are distillers so will throw you a bottle of narrowboat gin.
Thanks
Thank you Pete, so kind of you, have a lovely week ❤️
I throughly enjoy your journey, and on going problems. That you always overcome.
Love watching your vlogs just wish they lasted a bit longer. Still, quality over quantity. Keep 'em coming!
Thank you for enjoying, I'd like to do them longer it just depends we're we get too, hoping to start putting 2 a week out again at some point, thanks for your support 😀
Becks the bow thruster!
If only it worked hey 🤣
Why not use some flex piping with the flue makes things easier.
that may be the case thank you
You should have used the diamond blade if you can’t do with the stanly knife
yeah that probably would have been best
Go on then I’ll give it to you this week
Sir Chris didabit ❤💪
yay im going up in the world of DIY 😂
This video was great but I think y’all have a reversal relationship 😂. She does the work and he entertains! 🤣🤭😜😂
I’m drinking wine, but not because of your dilemmas. I’m drinking wine because I just got cleared from cancer for a year!

Hello from tenerife
Hi from the UK Craig 😄
When you next go in b and q ask a member of staff if sell a lawnmower for atfifical lawns
now that would confuse them 😂
It’s a shame you didn’t trim back the upper og wooden slated wall covering and then rebuild from there so you not eating more into the space around the stove. Narrowboatthatjamesbuilt did the metal sheet on the roof around the chimney on sloe patrol if you need any decent directions to put the copper sheet up there and letting the copper then flow down the wall behind the stove Good luck you’re doing brilliantly 🤗🤗
That's was actually the original plan, but we were abit worried about eating in the wall and causing a big mess, oh woaw will have to take a look at james' boat, great channel thank you
@@TheNomadicCrobot I completely understand bless you as yes you don’t know what’s under there and if it causes even more work when all you want to do is get it all sorted so you both can keep warm especially as the temps are dropping 🤗🤗 you will get there and it will look amazing and you will have the peace of mind knowing that everything it safe. James did a few posts as he was building his stove area that maybe able to help 🤞🏻🤞🏻 Keep up the amazing work 🤗🤗
Girl buy a dog shock collar and shock your partner when he screws up after 2 warnings! 😅
ouch 😂😂
My mum was from Hanley she married a wwII yank. I am one of there off spring. I love your funny channel, you both are real nutters. Thanks for the laughs and the scent in my ears. Joe

I had to stop and check that parts of this episode weren't simply parts of last episode just played in reverse. 😀Ho ho
Haha brilliant
What kind of monster hates Henry?

When is next episode?
We aim for Mondays 😀 thanks for joining our journey
