    In this video we will explain how to remove and replace timing chain on Mazda with 2.3 Turbo Engine. Tjis is part 1 of the procedure. We have the complete video that explains how to install the timing chain and it explains the timing marks in order to replace it. We explained how to replace and remove the timing chain on Mazda CX-7 but it should work on MazdaSpeed 3 and Mazda speed 6 with the 2.3 turbo disi engine since they all share the same engine.

    Do you recon the procedure is the same for Mazda 2 DE 2009?
    I have currently done 143000 miles in the UK and I am intending to do timing chains and oil pump replacement as a precautionary measure.

    The oil pump chain comes off without having to remove the sprocket.you only need to remove the tensioner arm to do so.

    There is quite a lot cases of timing belt breaking the motor on CX-7. Does replacing it before gonna prevent the problem on a car with 60000km? Thanks for the answer

    I have a 2007 cx7 I keep getting code for piston 4 miss fire. Last time I look it out it was making a clicking sound in the engine then I accelerated. Do u know what it can be?

      Around 100,000 miles. Mine failed at 140,000 some go longer some not so long

      Long as you do serivce change oil on time they should last you all they life mate

      I just bought a dirt cheap 2009 cx7 with 273k miles. Guy said it had never been replaced in his ownership and he bought it at 90k miles. Definitely planning on doing it soon!

    Hi y'all 👋 hey chain was recently done by someone else but they didn't seal it up properly so I'm pulling side cover and resealing everything properly. I did valve cover gasket few months ago do I have to pull the valve cover again to just do the side cover?? Pls and thx I know as I'm taking it apart I'll figure it out but I just was trying to run it through my head first

    Wow great video. How much do you think a job like this would cost? I have a 2007 Mazda cx 7 with 81,000 miles and think maybe it is time to get a new chain to prevent a failure.

      @@Way2EasyDIY we put a new oil filter/ cooler and it stopped the leaks. At 100k now but this Mazda is really the biggest cheaply build piece of crap we have ever owned. Gonna run it to death tho. Horrible uncomfortable car but it's cool to park anywhere and not give a damn what happens to it 😂😂

      Tbh I love mine lol. Got it for $320 at auction and that was 2 years ago I've only put a valve cover gasket and oil changes no other issues. I too will be driving mine into the ground haha!

      The shop told me it would cost more than the car is worth. I went on eBay and got all the parts for about 250$. I’m going to do the job with almost no power tools too. Wish me luck.

    This doesn’t work for the german layout/2.2l of the engine it’s quite different. Neither the sensor nor the pin position is the same.

      70k if you already dont have problems. short drives kill this type of engine turbo setup. change the cat and o2 sensors too while the turbo is out.
