Triban RC500👍 I found it pretty quick up hills even with the weight, good geometry I think. Used it as a gravel bike during the summer, a little bit twitchy but soon got used to it.
Thank you for a most wonderful share. I almost bought the RC120. However after watching your review, I decided to get this one. Right now it is out of stock in my country India.
I like the minimalist look and paint finish of the Triban road bike. One mistake most budget bike brands make is the colourway and paint finish is too loud. I personally don’t appreciate being a running billboard for a bike brand. When I already paid for the bike. So keep it classy folks. I wonder if anyone noticed? Most of the famous and expensive bike brands like Pinarello, Bianchi, BMC, etc. all have minimalist paint finish on their bikes.
That's some exciting peak hour traffic ride. The bike looked like it is so smooth and pick up was pretty decent too, but can't say the same of the disc brakes though. It's a good review. 👍
I just picked up this bike secondhand that the previous owner bought new in 2019. I paid 185usd and needed to replace the entire drive terrain. Super deal for a super good get up and go winter trainer.
@@philipcooper8297 The manufactured date on the serial number sticker below the BB says 2019/06. I was surprised but it was cheap enough to replace the chain, bb and big chain ring.
Bike ok but decathlon need to come up with good colours the previous grey and dark blue colors were decent ones. RC 120 seen in white and RC 500 in only turquoise blue here in India.
I bought an Elops single speed 500 (200€) recently, 44x18, my first "road bike" I already ordered dropbars and brake hood levers, can't be happier, I'm not going to fall in to the stupid game of major brands selling Shimano Tourney bikes for 1000€. No sir.
i've been thinking about buying this bike. Initially i wanted the 520 but it's a bit expensive and i just want to use it to stay fit and have fun, not really looking into racing or anything like that lol so i think the 500 would do. I really like the blue color there :D i'd change the pedals though
Will you max the tire width fit? Triban RC 500 is versatile up to 36mm tires, but i was wondering if you can get away with 38mm. I’m asking because I’m also looking to get the rc 500. Great video and handles on the road.
if you haven’t fixed the front brake yet, unscrew the calipers, max out the brake, and rescrew it while holding it. Every triban bike has this lol problem lol
Can this bike handle bad potholed roads? You have shown the riding on good smooth roads only. So i was wondering if it causes any problems on bad roads or light gravel.
That was a fine ride around busy streets. Hey, could you help me out with which size do I get? The bike is available only online, hence I can't try out different sizes physically at the store. Thanks. Stay safe and healthy.
@@kykyqq3133 Hey, thanks for the reply. Although Decathlon size chart for bike fit recommends 'L' size for heights of 180 - 190 cm, 'M' size for height of 175 - 180 cm and I am about 179.5 cm, I thought whether the 'L' size would be more appropriate. I was unsure as the bike is not available for physical testing at their local store and also not available online. I have to make the right decision for bike fit in advance so that it can be ordered when available online. I am confused between the 'M' and the 'L' sizes as I am on the border line.
Calvin I have L one and I'm 5 11, you may want to shorten the stem and I'm still fiddling around with my saddle height but it's better to be up than down a size imo. Ps. Hope you found one 😃
I have this. The rims are fairly solid and stronger than most road bikes, deals with speed bumps, small pot holes and average uk roads really well. The tyres are big too, you can feel bumps still but it is a smooth ride
If u have never ridden a roadbike before i suggest trying the triban 100. It costs approx INR 25,000 or 250 USD. The problem with buying a triban rc 500 is that if you aren't used to roadbikes, all the beginner mistakes that u make will cause damage to the bike and will cost a lot of money. On the triban 100 repairs due to falling off will not be so expensive.
Nice vid, Bro. You picked the wrong street to test the speed, though :)) I can see from various reviews it's an excellent bike for the price point. Too bad I couldn't get my hands on one as they're currently out of stock in all of Decathlon outlets. Keep cranking!
Just bought for 599, given how specialised are charging near 950 for the carbon fork Sirius equivalent j the new 2021 model, it’s even better value However the wheels suck. 3 hours to change a tyre.......
@@nytroxnikko1532 because you can’t get the wheel on or off the rims. It’s a known problem and there is I think a global wheel exchange program... The new rims will be wider to help resolve the issue. I doubt it will.
The reason the tyres won't come off is the band inside the wheel to seal the spoke holes to make it tubeless ready. I took it to a bike shop and even they struggled, had this removed, still difficult but at least won't be impossible like before :)
I just wonder why people buy these bike with bendy handlebars for commuting, wouldn't a straight handlebars suite the need better without killing your spine by bending???
Bendy Bars ? Do u mean drop bars? Been riding drops for 30 years and do not see any issues commuting. If u want speed and efficiency, road bikes are the way to go. I have recently swapped out to a stem which increases my handlebar height higher by 3 cm and does seem to help with back comfort at age 45+.
